1st review. Price was decent, and it arrived on time. It works okay, not as good as I was hoping. I will not buy this brand again. Edited review. I was contacted by the seller, and they wanted to make it right. They felt the peeler I received was defected. The 1st one couldn't even peel a cucumber and just barely peeled a carrot. I was going to buy a different brand. The 2nd one, at no cost to me, works outstanding, and peels even better than I was hoping. I do not hold the seller responsible for an item being defected. But I do hold them responsible for making it right, and this seller did. And since the 2nd peeler works great, and makes quick work of peeling cucumbers and carrots, I changed my review from 3 to 5 stars.

Best Vegetable Peeler Ever

I usually wait to review a product until I've used it for at least several weeks if not several months (depending on the product). I'm making an exception. This is the best vegetable peeler I have ever used--at any price. The handle is broad enough and is designed in a way that makes it easy to hold and use safely. The blades are sharp and efficient. If it doesn't hold up over time, I'll edit/amend this review. At this time, I am pleased with this peeler.

Like Seriously…What can you really say about a Peeler?

OH MY! I had to chuckle when I received a couple of follow up emails from Brian Davis, co-founder of Spring Chef asking me how I was ENJOYING my new swivel peeler. I suppose I was just taking it for granted that this was just another run of the mill peeler, a mere replacement for the dull ones sharing my cluttered utensil drawer, as I really don’t know how much you can ENJOY peeling vegetable’s (???). However, it did prompt me to take a more in-depth look into my new peeler as I thought I might be missing something very important. And turns out I was… First of all - When you hold this exquisite ribbed peeler in your hand you will find a perfect ergonomic synergy which enables you to effortlessly strip away any rough peel, even those pig-headed little eyes found in overgrown potatoes. In other words - hand and device become one. YEP! Be aware though that although the blue high quality plastic protective vinyl strip over the blade is attractive, it does need to be removed for the best results. It has also become invaluable for shredding carrots as I wanted them to be the perfect size and consistency for the 10 gallon vat of coleslaw I recently made for our local block party, celebrating our Neighbors release from Prison. Everybody was thrilled and commented how the carrots were picture-perfect and really jumped out from the cabbage. 😊 This wouldn’t have been possible with a grater or ordinary peeler . Although, I’m very happy…it has created a little marital discord around my home as I have to hide it from my normally quiet and well dispositioned Hubby. He's gotten very aggressive and fights with me as to who gets to peel the vegetables, but I’ve solved this by usually trying to make soup and stews when’s he’s not home. I also had to draw the line when I caught my cousin Ruby trying to use it to peel the skin off her rough heels. Now onto the quality and attractiveness of this fine apparatus. I realize it’s constructed of a superior quality GENUINE plastic material, but it sure could have fooled me as it reminded me of timeless Ebony. And not just your average Ebony, but that of the finest black hardwoods of India and Africa. The exquisite silver “Spring Chef” logo stands out and will remind you of a custom designed font from days gone by – almost Salvador Dali like with its surreal yet whimsical style and appearance. There's so much more I can say, but I think I've said enough (LOL). I do find it an injustice though to just hide this beautiful device in a kitchen drawer with menial and boring utensils. That’s why I had a custom stand made and I proudly display it with other collectibles in my home, as it’s become more of a piece of art to me... than a humble kitchen utensil. So, HAPPY PEELING and enjoy! PS: It really is a superior Peeler and although I'm just having a little fun here, I really do appreciate the great customer concern here from Sping Chef and will buy other products from them!

Best Vegetable Peeler Ever!

I was perfectly content with my generic vegetable peeler. It did a decent job. Then I tried the Spring Chef Premium Swivel Vegetable Peeler at my daughter's house over Thanksgiving. Where has this little peeler been all my life? It made peeling potatoes effortless! Super comfortable, lightweight, glides over vegetables - plus an unbelievably reasonable price. I'm buying one for my sister, and highly recommend it to anyone. Even if you're happy with your current peeler, just try this one - you won't regret it.

Hands down the best peeler I've ever used

Hands down the best peeler I've ever used! After 15 years in the cooking game, I know my way around a potato. Best part is, I received what I thought was an auto generated email thanking me for my purchase from Founder Brian Davis. I wrote back and said thanks....turns out, it was really him! Good product. Personal touch, which is huge for me in this automated age. Already have other Spring Chef products in mind. Will buy for as long as they make 'em.

Remove Blade's Protective Strip First!

I initially posted a one-star review labeled "Disappointed" because the peeler scraped the carrots I was preparing rather than peeling them in nice, long strips. Well, count me in as a mental midget -- I did not notice when I cleaned it before use, that there is a thin plastic protective strip on the blade, which obviously made the peeler inoperable. I almost threw the peeler away in disgust, but decided to wash it anyway. It was then that I noticed the protective strip. Once removed, the tool worked beautifully and as expected. So if you do buy this kitchen tool, be sure to remove the protective plastic strip from the blade before employing it!

It was amazing! It just slid through the peels

I used the Spring Chef vegetable peeler for the first time today on potatoes for Thanksgiving tomorrow! OMG! I will NEVER dread peeling potatoes or anything else again for that matter! It was amazing! It just slid through the peels, my hand didn't hurt when I was done, and it did such a clean job of removing the peels! I didn't have to keep going over the same spot. If my old one (10 years +) hadn't fallen apart, I would have never known about this company's products! Yay! If I could give it more stars, I would!

Great Peeler!

This peeler is wonderful! I've never been very picky about what peeler I would buy until I realized I was wasting money on low quality peelers! You shouldn't have to replace a peeler very often! Just got the Spring Chef peeler a few days ago and I know I made a great choice! The handle is comfortable in my hand and the blade is very sturdy and thick! That was my biggest complaint about other peelers... flimsy weak blades! I've used it a handful of times already, on carrots, cucumbers, potatoes and it's doing a great job! Very Happy! Even came with an extremely helpful PDF to get the best results with your peeler! Awesome!

Excellent product, even better customer service

I purchased this peeler after my current peeler bit the dust one day in the middle of peeling potatoes for dinner. I was super bummed because I thought it was the best peeler I had ever purchased and was no longer available to purchase. Well it may have been- until this little baby arrived. It glides down vegetables in a way that I can’t even explain... and the peels just fall out of the blade without any work or shaking at all. It fits great in my hand and is super easy to clean. I plan on buying one for my mom and sister because no one you know should be living without this peeler. Total game changer. And Spring Chef has some amazing customer service. They sent both a welcome “how to use” video and a folllw up email to make sure I wasn’t having any issues. It is so refreshing to be doing business with a company who cares about the products they produce and the customers who use them.

Great peeler at a good price

What's the deal with veggie peelers? I probably buy 2 or 3 every year and then as time goes on I can't find a single one. So annoying. I was at that point again last week and decided to jump on amazon and pick up a couple. Reading the reviews I decided to give spring chef a try. Delivery was fast and the packaging was perfect. I was all set to make some soup on Monday. I got the peeler out of the package, quickly washed it and set out to peel some carrots. It wouldn't peel. Very frustrating. I was ready to throw it back in the box to return when I noticed the heavy tape that was covering the blades. DUH!!!! Stuck so well it didn't come off when I washed it. Took off the tape and my carrots and potatoes were done in no time at all. The construction is very solid in my hands. Easy to grip and control. Clean up is a breeze. Great peeler for the price. This will be my go to when the peelers go missing over the course of the year. Maybe they go on a vacation with all those socks missing from the washer?
