Seems OK So Far

Replaced hood lift struts on 2008 Acura TL with these and so far after a few weeks they seem to be working as expected. The big question is how long will they last (OEM ones lasted about 8 years). Hard to tell at this point, but they were very inexpensive so if we can make it another 5 years we won't own the car after that!

Update 05/06/19: These are still going strong! Still really pleased with the quality. Update 02/25/17: These are still going strong without any issues. These were an exactly replacement for my worn out hood struts (2007 TL). They were super easy to install with a screw driver (no wrenches needed). It took about 5 minutes overall. I would recommend if you are doing it by yourself to get a long brace of some sort to hold your hood up as you replace them (since your hood likely won't stay up on it's own with your old struts ...).

Drop-in Replacement and Very Strong

Front Hood Lift for Acura TL. These lifts fit PERFECTLY. Installation was <10 mins and very easy. It came with the installation clips and swapped right in. I read the instructions but feel like doing a quick search on YouTube and watching the video is MUCH more helpful. It much more clear to see the installation process. The lifts are very strong, much more so than the originals. As soon as you release the hood latch, the hood just moves up on its own (so watch out!).

Good replacements!

These were pretty easy to install once I watched a Youtube video. The only detail the video was missing was that I needed to take both old hood struts out so that I could open the hood farther to fit the new ones in. With one of the old struts still installed I couldn't fit the new one. Minor detail, but maybe helpful to someone. These are certainly a lot stronger than the originals that were on my '06 TL. It actually takes some effort to close the hood now.

Good Product, Good Price

Got these for my wife's '07 TL. I very seldom open the hood on this car because everything is hidden behind covers. I let the dealer do all of that. However one cold and rainy night I get a call from my wife that the car won't start because she left the lights on all day. So I got my trusty jumper cables and made the 15 mile trek to where she was. I opened the hood and was in the process of hooking up the battery cables along with trying to stay dry. The next thing I remember is seeing stars and had a bad headache. One would think that the dealer might have made a note about weak hood lift cylinders or even possibly tried to sell me a set. No, I found out the hard way, literally. I found these on Amazon at a third of the cost that Acura wanted for one cylinder. Got them 2 days later and installed them in 5 min. Good product, good price.
