Are you having hip or back surgery soon or have you already! This is a must! I got it for my husband and it has been amazing. He is able to go to the restroom without assistance. Install was easy. Hardware was included. It doesn't move around like a lot of reviews stated. No issues so far. He has been using it for 7 days and it hasn't budged yet. Husband is 5'7" and 190 lbs. Hope this helps!

Going to install when it arrives and I think it will work well. After reading reviews, I'm concerned about stability and also being able to clean this seat:

Right before a recent hip replacement we put this elevated toilet seat on our regular toilet. After the surgery we were so glad we had installed it. Made it much easier to get up and down off the toilet seat, especially with the arms to hold on to while standing back up. The surgery is almost four weeks out now and we will be removing it soon as it is rather difficult to properly clean the toilet with it on, but it is worth the extra trouble to have the added safety and comfort of the higher seat. We would definitely recommend this product for anyone having hip or knee replacement surgery.

I wasn't there for delivery or installation but my nephew figured it out (he drilled a larger hole for the screws) and got this installed just fine. My Dad didn't complain which we both took to be a ringing endorsement. He did brag about it to a neighbor so I guess he likes it fine and it's doing the job as intended. Well, see how easy it is to keep clean as I'm sure my Mom will let me know as time passes whether it is easy or hard to keep it clean. I will say of all of the choices available, this is the most attractive and the handles are a great asset.

I did use the bolts that came with the riser even though some people had a problem with them rusting. Our use will be short term. To increase stability of the riser, I used white silicone to seal the riser to the commode. I did this to close the opening between the top of the commode and the bottom of the riser. This helps with keeping it clean and also gives it the stability that it needs to have. I did not use the hand rails because we have grab bars on both sides of the commode and I trust them more than the riser hand rails. My wife has a bidet and if you have one, you will need to plug the holes where the hand rails are mounted with silicone to keep sprayed water within in the bowl.

Much more comfortable than elevated toilet seats that do not use your toilet seat. Much more stable than "quick install" elevated toilet seats because it actually bolts to the toilet. I started out with a "quick install" elevated toilet seat for hip replacement surgery. I replaced the "quick install" unit after one use with this unit and felt it was an excellent decision.

This is wonderful. It is just what my husband needed for help up and down. Warning -- if you already have a high toilet this might make it too high. Take that into consideration. We are both very tall so we (barely) escaped having to return it. I like that fact that it is hinged for proper cleaning. Also it is easy to install.

Exactly what we expected when we ordered this toilet chair. Good quality. Great height, stable hand bars with cushioning and best part is that it comes with the bolts that allow you to secure your own toilet seat to the top of this raised seat which also allows the toilet lid to be closed (I have cats who think its funny to explore the toilet bowl lake and yet it is unhealthy for them and gross). Also, the ability to close the toilet lid makes it not look as much like and "ADA" toilet. Good buy and 1/2 the price of the same height seat with handles which compressed to the front and rear of the toilet. The compression toilet seat loosened every time and did not have a seat closure possibility. This seat is the best of all.

I received 2 of these risers and have installed them in anticipation of future surgery recovery. The product itself is straightforward. It is a solid polyethylene waxy-like material that is well molded and fits my Kohler elongated toilets perfectly. The bottom side of the unit has thin pads to cushion it against the top rim of the bowl and to minimize slipping. The hardware was good quality - 2 bolts which are long enough to reach thru any toilet mount and 2 wing nuts. Instructions are minimal so I would like to offer some advice from experience: 1. The mounting area of the unit where the bolt holes are located seems contoured up and if you tighten the bolts securely, the front of the unit lifts a tiny bit from the front of the bowl. If the bolts are tight, this would add some amount of strain to the mounting area and in extreme cases might cause the toilet to crack. So, I added 2 flat washers between the unit and the bowl rim to make sure the strain of a seated person did not strain the mount. 2. I also added 2 nylon washers (other materials like hard rubber could be used) between the wing nuts and the bottom of the toilet mount area. Just to protect the toilet from any cracks. The supplied hardware uses a flat blade screwdriver and most of the toilet seat hardware use phillips head so you will need large drivers of both type. Keep the flat blade handy for a few days to tighten the screws as you use it and until they set in. Clean and save your original hardware so you can use it again if this is a temporary situation. Overall, a very suitable product and easy enough for anyone to install with a little patience.

This is a fabulous product! I've had multiple knee surgeries and this seat has lasted well over a year for me. It's just perfect to help support someone who cannot stand by themselves. I am short, so the height is perfect and the handles are exactly what I needed to help me be independent in the bathroom. It also quickly can be removed in case you are entertaining and want your "old toilet" back. But it's been a wonderful investment as I didn't know I would be hobbling around for so long. Even if you have a tall toilet seat, you can still benefit from this seat. The handles on this are so sturdy that you can support yourself by using them to stand up and then grab on to your walker or cane or even a wheelchair!
