Excellent Option For Beginners!
I received this product in exchange for my honest review. I was very impressed with the ADM Mahogany Concert 23 Inch Professional Ukulele and would recommend it to beginners who are looking to stay under the $60 price point. I decided to visit the official ADM website and discovered that their mission statement is to "deliver a better value for your investment." I found this mission statement to be true with what was delivered to me. The complete package contents include: ukulele, gig bag, picks, strap, fingerboard stickers, chord chart, and instructional videos. This concert ukulele is 23 inches in size and has a mahogany body and neck, as well as a rosewood fretboard and bridge. The strings are Premium Italian Aquila Nylgut Strings, and the tuners are made of chrome die-cast. Die-cast tuners are known for being very solid, meaning that they should stay in place, keeping you from having to frequently tune your ukulele. That being said, any ukulele that’s brand new will typically need to be tuned quite a bit during it’s first week or two, simply because the new strings need to stretch out. As far as design goes, there is a nice, simple pattern around the sound hole, as well as fret markers on the fret board. This ukulele did come with a case, which is fitted around the ukulele, yet contains very little padding. This makes for a great dust cover, however due to the lack of padding, it would not be highly protective when traveling. In regards to the feel and sound of this ukulele, I found it to have a lower sound than what I am used to; this was a nice change and I am pleased to have a ukulele option at home with a warmer sound. The feel of this ukulele is very comfortable; I was happy to discover that the frets are smooth on both sides of the neck, making for painless chord transitioning. After reviewing the ADM Mahogany Concert ukulele, I personally find it to be an excellent option for those of you who are beginners and are wanting to stay under the $60 price point.

Can't Beat It for the Price
Absolutely love this little instrument. If you look it over very carefully you can see a few flaws in the construction, but otherwise this thing looks and plays like a much more expensive instrument. It seems like maybe a QC reject from a higher end line. Intonation is good, stays in tune, has good action and has a nice bright and rich tone to it. Bought it for my baby boy so he didn't have to share my daughter's blue souvenir shop version, but I find myself playing it constantly (even after some work the other one is a chore to play). I'm a guitarist, so I've been relearning all my go-to blues and grunge tunes on it and it sounds hilarious with that tiny little tone when you play those rock and blues tunes. Regardless of the music, it's one of those instruments that just plays and sounds so nice that you can't help but pick it up and play it every time you see it. That's kind of a rare thing for me. Unless you're a seasoned pro and you're planning on gigging and recording with your ukulele, don't even think twice about it. Just buy this one. Even for a pro it would do just fine in a pinch.

I love it. I play it every night and have ...
I bought this not knowing anything about the ukulele other than I knew I wanted to teach myself to play. I love it. I play it every night and have a lot of fun with it. At first I was worried that it wouldn't stay tuned but it just takes the strings awhile to stay tight. It's a great starter ukulele.

Beautiful and perfect for this newby
No complaints at all. I know some people had mentioned that the bag that came with theirs was mildewed or something, that was not the case at all with the one we received. Others had said it arrived without the picks that are in the description, but ours came with two picks that work just great. It is true that you will have to tune it over and over and over again at first. Seriously, probably before every song or every few minutes. The strings will eventually finish stretching though and you won't have to tune it so often. This ukulele has a great sound. It's the concert size, so it's a little bit larger than the soprano ukulele but not huge. It still has that classic ukulele sound. Overall I would suggest this instrument. It's very pretty and well made. It's much prettier in person than the pictures. A really beautiful instrument. I'd say it's a great beginner ukulele for sure and perfect for someone playing as hobby. Since I'm new to ukuleles and just a newby at learning to play any instrument at all, I'm not the right person to say whether or not this has the quality to be used as much more than a hobby instrument. However, since I'm new and using it to learn a new hobby, I can say that it's been the perfect fit for me for that.

Beautiful Ukulele
After digging around Amazon and other sites I settled on this ukulele. This is my first ukulele so I was looking for a mix of attractive and good sound. I had done a bit of reading ahead so it was no surprise in the beginning that it would need to be tuned frequently , like almost after every strum at first!! You could hear it fall out of tune. But its been a week now and the strings need just a touch of adjustment before playing. just takes time for the strings to optimize. I down loaded a free tuner on my phone, Pocket Ukulele Tuner, from the playstore. Works great, easy, for frequent tuning if you put it on autotune. This is a Beautiful Uke!, better than the pictures. it has a nice satin finish and a lovely shell(abalone) rosette. I love the way the wood glows when light shines over it. It seems very well made and so far, in my newbie opinion, sounds very nice. Sounding better as my playing improves for sure! The gigbag it comes with is pretty much a dust cover, no padding. I would not feel safe using this for travel. Have not used the strap yet or the picks but they seem ok. I do wish a tuner had come with the Uke. Over all I think this is a great ukulele, glad I got it. Will update in afew months.

five stars
This is a ukulele that is most likely to be for beginners. It is quite sturdy and it comes with a tuner, cloth, chip, and a shoulder bag. I found the tuner really useful, it could used for instruments other than the ukulele. This ukulele was for my son. He really likes playing with it and he's learning how to play by himself. This is a good price for a ukulele and it has very good quality for a cheap price.

Wonderful beginner Ukulele
I am a huge musician. One of my close relatives plays guitar professionally and I had him take a look at this little Ukulele. He has gone through it thoroughly and says that the tone is ok, but the pitch is great! This means that it is great for a first time players. The wood is beautiful (see pictures)! The package as a whole is great set. I cannot find anywhere else that has the same quality (especially for the price). I recommend this to anyone who is starting out and needs a good priced Ukulele. Many stores charge double the price for the instrument only. If you have any questions, I will try my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Lovely! I am very excited!
This is my first ukulele and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The instrument is beautiful and I haven't noticed any flaws. A tag attached to one of the tuning pegs indicates that it's been strung with Aquila brand strings, which seem to be the #1 suggested string on the interwebs. It also arrived with the gig bag, strap, and picks as advertised, and I was pleasantly surprised to also find a tiny and extremely useful Swift A2 clip on tuner included as well. The sound quality seems to be good, and she plays loud and clear. The ukulele really is gorgeous and it feels well made. From a newbs perspective, I would definitely recommend this ukulele, and I don't think you will be disappointed in your purchase.

Looks and sounds great, and the price is fantastic!
I bought 2 soprano uke's for my daughters, and fell in love with the instrument while getting them in tune for Christmas. So I had to get myself one too. The soprano was just a little too small for me, and I had problems with certain chords that needed multiple fingers bunched together (G7 for example), so I went for this concert size one. I am so glad I did! The look of the uke is fantastic, the sound is deeper and richer than the sopranos, and I was very surprised how quickly the strings started to retain their tune. Of course, you always have to tune it, but this one holds it better than the other 2 during play. It's a very pretty instrument, and you won't be disappointed by the look. And like I said, it sounds better than sopranos due to the larger size. The strings are the perfect distance to the frets along the entire neck, which makes it even easier to play, and it doesn't sound out of tune as you move up the neck. The quality of this uke compared to the other 2 sopranos from another manufacturer is superb! The only reason I haven't returned the other 2 and get them this one, is that my daughters wanted them in specific colors and this only comes in the beautiful mahogany color. But once they're over that and ready to move up, this is what I'm getting them! So overall, this is a great instrument at a great price, and it is a BLAST to play and sing along with!! I have played piano and guitar for almost 45 years, and have never had so much fun playing an instrument. And this will be very easy for beginners to pick up and learn to play. My piano and guitar skills really don't help with the uke, except that I already know the chords to the songs I play, and know how to strum in different rhythms, and that will come with enough time and practice to the beginner. But I've been learning a lot of new songs that I've never tried to play before, and a websites that I found very helpful is ukutabs.com to get the chords for a lot of songs. And to help tune the uke, ukutuner.com is perfect and free (although I did buy them a clip-on digital tuner, since keeping it in tune is the most important thing to sounding good). But there are a lot of websites to help you with your new uke, not just those. I love how uke players are so enthusiastic and helpful to others. And I did not get any discount for this 5-star review. I paid full price and it is well worth it. The carrying bag is also better than the one that came with the sopranos, and it has a strap which is helpful if I'm standing up. It took me a while to figure out how to attach the strap, and I had to google it! :-) It obviously goes around your neck, and then the other end goes behind the uke, wraps along the bottom, and the plastic hook gets attached to the sound hole. So it's not a very secure strap like a guitar, but is all that is necessary to keep it in balance if you're standing and playing, as long as you hold on with the other hand. And the picks are pretty, but I don't use them. I like the sound of strumming or thumbing better with the uke. Great job to ADM for making this high-quality instrument and keeping it affordable!
