• STRONG AND LIGHTWEIGHT SIFTER HOLDS A FULL 3 CUPS: Home baking just got easier. This sifter holds more flour or powdered sugar than most sifters made for home use. Measurements are stamped right into the metal and can easily be read from inside the sifter as well as outside.
  • CLASSIC RELIABLE HAND CRANK AND SINGLE MESH: Professionals prefer crank-style sifters over hand squeeze sifter models because they can stand up to repeated use without tiring out your hand. Sifting is effortless and clean up is super simple - no multi-layers of mesh for ingredients to get stuck.
  • THE DOUBLE LOOP AGITATOR LEAVES NOTHING BEHIND: Lumps of flour and sugar can get left behind to clog the mesh screens when using squeeze handle models, but the Bellemain Flour Sifter cranks smoothly, capturing everything. Works great with fine and coarse flours like almond meal and oat bran.
  • EASY FOR BAKERS WITH ARTHRITIS TO USE: Squeeze handles are hard to work and require hand strength - which means they can wear you out quickly. But the Bellemain Sifter’s hand crank operates smoothly and effortlessly - lightweight flours and sugars practically sift themselves.
  • RUST RESISTANT STAINLESS STEEL WILL EASILY LAST A GENERATION OR MORE: Stainless steel is lightweight, but stronger than aluminum or plastic - so you never need to worry about cracks, chips, dents and scratches. This is the sifter that you'll still be using in 20 years

I ordered and received this about a week ago. I had already looked around town and couldn't find a quality made one (every store had the cheap squeeze handle type) so I ended up looking on Amazon last. I really hadn't bought kitchen items here before so it didn't even cross my mind to look here until all of my other options had been exhausted. I already had a similar one (my late mothers) but it wasn't Stainless Steel like this one and it was starting to get some rust and becoming unsanitary. This one is made out of stainless steel so there should be no problems with rust. Stainless doesn't rust. Now on to my review. I've used it sifting flour for a pan of biscuits and three or four times sifting some Bisquick for pancakes. Everyone who uses Bisquick knows how lumpy it can be. No idea why but it always is. It's worked great every time. The turn handle is so much more easier to use than the squeeze handle one. I tried one of the squeeze handle ones in the store (empty of course) and my hand was tired after ten to fifteen seconds of squeezing (I have rheumatoid arthritis). No such problems with this one. It sifts 2 cups of flour (what I use for my biscuits) within fifteen to twenty seconds. A little longer if you try and beat up the big lumps that are left in the bottom but I dump those in the garbage can. I'm just really pleased with it. It's well made which was a little surprising for the low cost and very easy to use. It's medium sized (three cup) so it doesn't take up that much cabinet space and that's always a concern with me because all of my cabinets are pretty full. I would highly recommend it. Very Pleased. It's better than I expected for such a low price.

One of my fondest memories is hanging out in a warm kitchen while my grandmother bustled about making a big family meal. I got to help stir, fetch ingredients, lick spoons, and, if I was lucky, sift the flour for her homemade bread. Five-year-old me was enthralled by the skritch skritch skritch of the wire scraping across the mesh, and I dutifully cranked the soft flour into the bowl. Fast-forward *cough* years later. I inherited most of my grandmother’s kitchenware, and set about recreating that warm kitchen experience for my own children. I got out the big stand mixer, the rolling pin, the trays. Alas, the old sifter had given its all to the cause. The knob was missing, the mesh pushed out of shape, the sides scratched and dented. I searched the listings. When I saw the Bellemain Stainless Steel 3 Cup Flour Sifter, the spitting image of my grandmother’s, five-year-old me couldn’t click “Add to Cart” fast enough. I have baked all kinds of treats since its arrival. It effortlessly sifts ingredients with that same nostalgic skritch skritch skritch. It sits right next to the mixer, ready to go when inspiration strikes. My kids argue over whose turn it is to help. And my grandmother’s old sifter? It sits on top of the pantry with the antique mortar and pestle and wire-side Ball jars, looking down—I like to think—with pride.

Made baking powder biscuits yesterday and used this. It was the first time ever for using a flour sifter and it worked wonderfully. It's amazing I hadn't used one of these before! At first I was wondering if the bail would not work its way through the very last bits of flour and would leave a bunch unsifted. Nope. It worked very effectively getting all but a very small number of grains through the screen. Then, a quick tap on the side cleaned it up. A nice, simple design. The one my mother had years ago was spring-powered where you squeezed the handle to move the bail. This is a much simpler, more effective design.

I recently decided to get back into baking after a layoff of a couple decades. :) I knew I wanted an upgrade of some equipment and needed to repurchase some items that had been lost or damaged over the years. Top of that list was a flour sifter. I work in technology, but have been around long enough to know that "new" doesn't always mean *improved*. There are some things that simply don't need much in the way of change. To that end, I wanted a flour sifter like my mother and grandmother used. I didn't think the new style was any better, and in some ways were worse. One thing I did want was stainless steel as I now live in the humid south and wanted to keep rust at bay. After reading numerous reviews of this unit and others, I decided this was the unit for me. After it's arrival, I knew I had made a good choice. This unit has now gotten me through a couple baking sessions with a couple different flours and it is fantastic. Smooth operation, perfect sifting, easy to clean. Hard to imagine it being any better. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a quality sifter. Fantastic product.

Just like my old one! It's perfect and works great. I had my old one over 25 years. This time I will not wash but dust off if possible. Very happy with the design and quality.

Exactly what I was looking for, great price. I really appreciate the seller reaching out to me via email with tips on usage. I never would have thought to not wash it but now I understand that doing so could produce a gluey flour/water mess. I'd purchase from this seller again happily!

I used my new sifter for the first time when I made mini donuts. It works very, very well....it’s works smoothly. It’s just like the one I had many years ago. I was hoping that it would be and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered two sitters because my son is gluten free and I just wanted to make sure it was free from any wheat flour when I baked for him. I didn’t want to wash the sifter even though I think I can. I have to admit that my old one did rust over time and I didn’t want my new one to end up the same way.

Bought this as it reminded me of the one my Grandma used. I love it! Well made and does what it should. I hand wash it and, so far, no rust issues or problems. I will add that my sister has another brand of sifter and she liked this one equally as well; however, I paid less for mine. Excellent product for the money. I think it will last a long time.

Great Sifter! This design is so much better than the squeeze variety I have been using, my hand was SO tired from my old sifter. This is just like my Grandma used to have, seems solid. I expect to have many years of service from it. Sifting the flour makes a 100% difference in gluten free baking, especially with those heavy bean flours. I know some people are talking about not being able to wash their sifters, but you know, I remember my Grandma keeping hers in her big tip-out flour bin all the time without a problem. I'm keeping mine in a plastic bag as recommended by the manufacturer. I think it is a great product and a great buy.

I bought this sifter as a gift for my daughter and she loves it! It was delivered in a timely manner, well-packed, and arrived in perfect shape. The sifter is so smooth and the crank-style is easy to use. Suggestions for cleaning the sifter stated it could be put in the dishwasher (a big selling point for my daughter), hand washed, or just wiped clean. I don't see how it could be wiped clean and be clean enough to put back into a cupboard without having some residue still clinging to it--but the dishwasher method worked just fine! Will definitely order from this company again!
