Best ankle brace! (and I've tried many)
This brace is great. I broke my ankle around 6 years ago in a high school lacrosse game, and have had issues with the ankle ever since. I wore various casts for around a year and went to PT for a little while but never did the exercises at home (didn't realize I'd start slowing down a little bit in my twenties lol). My ankle still aches sometimes and it gives out easily and rolls a lot. My doctor said that ankle injuries almost never heal 100%, and you can lose the elasticity of the tendons in your ankle, leaving them perma-wobbly. SO, I need some support when I run. I have tried more minimalistic braces, but they usually don't give the right amount of support. This brace works so well for two reasons: 1. the laces (yes, annoying and less attractive, but it makes all the difference. This also ensures that the brace will be tight enough even if you order one a little too big). 2. The side straps (totally immobilize your ankle to keep it straight and at a 45 degree angle, which is essential for healing). This brace is exactly the same as the one that my doctor gave me after I got out of the casts, so it's practically medical grade. I got the white one because it looks better with my running shoes. I was worried about it getting gross but the box says you can machine wash the brace. I wear a 6.5 women's shoe (U.S.), and I ordered a small. Fits perfectly. The sizing chart on the box is slightly different from the one posted here so I'll include a picture of that. Perfect overall for serious stability. Probably too constricting for someone looking for light or moderate support.

The brace Rocks, Holds Rock Solid!
This is a great ankle brace. I sprained my ankle in late June and the doctor provided a compression brace that was not doing the trick. I spoke with my physical therapist and he recommended this ASO Ankle Stabilizer. What a difference. The ASO Ankle Stabilizer made my ankle rock solid. It comfortable and fit inside all of my shoes. This made it perfect to ware in the yard, hiking, or at work in front of a customer. The ASO Ankle Stabilizer ties like a boot as you slip it on over your foot. Then it comes with two straps that go under your foot and come back up on either side. A large Velcro strap locks it all together across the front of your shin. The fabric is a thin nylon but it is completely non-stretch and locks your ankle in. You can position your foot (bend your foot up or down) to fine tune where you foot is held. My physical therapist had me put on the brace and while I had my foot on the floor lean forward then tighten the straps. This gave my foot a more natural position for walking. A couple things to note: While putting the side straps around the bottom of your foot, make sure they are positioned well back over our heel. When I first used this brace the I put the straps over the arch of my foot. This lead to circulation issues and my foot began to hurt. Place the straps closer to your heel and you will be fine. Secondly, when lacing up the brace I tended to over tighten the laces. This was unnecessary because the support comes from the straps. Don't tighten the laces too much.

Amazing fix for my flat feet
I know it's not exactly the intended purpose, but it works. Having flat feet means my ankle joints are rolled inward a lot (pronated). This isn't a problem for everyone that has it, but it makes my ankles have chronic pain of various levels. Usually not too bad, but after a day of walking or standing all day, it's debilitating. I discovered that forcibly holding my feet in a normal shape (holding the arch up) results in less pain over time, but that's really hard to do all day every day. So I thought these might help. Boy, do they ever! The very first day I worked in the yard all day long without a bit of pain at the time or the next day (which is usually the worst part). Walking on rough ground used to be awful, a small rock or hole unexpectedly changing my ankle angle side to side would almost bring me to the ground, and it seemed these events accumulated throughout the day into severe pain. With these braces on, that is virtually eliminated. I could probably jog on a gravel road. The ankles cannot get moved enough to hurt. And on top of all that, they're actually comfortable. I don't even want to take them off at the end of the day. Obviously they aren't intended for long term all day use, but I don't see how it could be worse than what I was experiencing. I'll probably end up only wearing them when my ankles are hurting or when I do activities that would otherwise cause them to hurt. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem I do, but I hope my insight helps. I can't recommend them enough.

Recommend for Ankle Fracture Recovery
After my cast was removed, from a surgical repair for a triple ankle fracture, with dislocation, I used the ASO ankle stabilizer instead of the walking boot. This stabilizer is the same one offered at my Orthopedic surgeon's offer, at a fraction of their price. This brace is comfortable, easy to adjust and it washes well, I would recommend the ASO stabilizer for ankle injury recovery.

Great for distance runners!!!!
I don't typically leave reviews but when I find a product that exceeds expectations and may provide information that may help others make a decision then I will... I recently rolled my ankle on a long training run, it was very swollen and had a large amount of bruising within 2 hours, I did have X-rays done as I was concerned my racing season was over before it had started, luckily for me there were no fractures.. I immediately began searching for some type of stabilizing brace and found the ASO brace, it arrived 4 days after my initial injury. Since I had no pain bearing weight on my foot and also no pain when flexing my ankle front to back, only had pain flexing my ankle outwards, I decided to give it a try. I wear a men's size 9 and ordered a medium which fit very well, my initial concern was a loss of flexibility and irritation that may have caused blistering or chaffing, fortunately I had neither, it was worn over a sock and I do wear calf guards so there was no part of the brace touching the skin...my original plan was just an easy run to see how it felt and if I was feeling pain, I'm happy to say after 60 minutes and 8.5 miles I had no pain and no irritaition on any part of my foot! There was one point where I felt like my ankle was beginning to roll outwards but I believe the brace did its job and prevented that from happening. Overall, I do feel this does help with stability not only for runners but for anyone with instability issues, the fit and feel are very good, I am guessing that on future runs I will not even notice it's there....I hope this helps!!!

Worked Great in curing my Tendonitis
I had very painful Tendonitis 5 years ago and was prescribed an identical ankle brace along with a cortisone injection and 10 days of prednisone. We left for a vacation in Italy the following day. I wore the brace every day for the next two weeks and walked over 100 miles without any problem. The meds and this brace saved our vacation. I developed Tendonitis in the other ankle last week but couldn't find my brace and ordered a replacement from Amazon. It was way cheaper than the $85 the doctor charged me 5 years ago for an identical one. After wearing it for a few days and taking NSAIDs, I was able to walk without pain. It is very lightweight, well made and easy to use once you figure out how to put it one. The instructions that come with it are clear and easy to follow but it may have helped that I was already quite familiar with wearing it. This ASO worked perfectly for me. I highly recommend it

Absolutely fantastic ankle stabilizer - I use in hiking boot.
I sprained my ankle 3 weeks ago. Completely rolled it and felt every tendon snap and crack as I went down. Previously broke the same foot along with a good roll every other year. My ankle swelled immediately. Mostly on the outside, but both the inside and outside and bottom of my foot turned a nasty black and blue and red. For 3 days (highly suggested) I followed RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevate. Following that, I did light stretches daily (flex and alphabet). I stopped if I felt pain. On the third week to the day, I strapped this on (brand new to me) and wore it in my high top leather hikers and hiked a small mountain. Some areas were steep. I worried, but at the same time, I kept pushing as I felt no pain. This brace is a lifesaver. I found it referenced on someone's hiking blog and just kept going back to read about it. I am extremely excited that I made the right choice and I will buy another. I'm a size 9.5 regular women's leather hiker. I purchased a "small" due to reviews suggesting if it's too big, it can wrinkle up and irritate. (I read every review). Most reviews state sneaker or shoe so I was a little worried. However, I had no problem still tying my hiking boot. Love this stabilizer.

Highly recommend from a basketball player who had a grade three sprain (Worst grade of sprain) Can wear with shoes
Incredible, Definitely a type of injury where you need a high quality type of brace. I received a cheap one initially from my doctor and this one is way better. It laces up and is stretchy and fits perfectly. I wear a size 11 shoe and got a size M. I had a grade three sprain from rolling my ankle playing basketball. I couldn't put weight on it for weeks. So Im about 6 months and just starting to play again. Tried to play ball a few times since before I got this brace and mildly rolled my ankle twice because it is still weaker and healing. Since I got this I have played a couple times and its great. No chance Im rolling my ankle. This brace prevents me from rolling my ankle and provides support. Also easily fits with my basketball hightops, I played pickup for 3 hours last night with no issues! If you rolled ankle and have a weak ankle you are prone to chronically doing so for atleast another year or so, I will probably wear this whenever I play for the next couple years just to be safe. Highly recommend, from someone with an extremely serious ankle sprain. Gotta take care of these, you dont want to be the person who keeps rolling their ankle, your ankles will be screwed in the future, get this brace its top tier.

great product AMAZING!!!
the ankle stabilizer is great, not the most comfortable thing though, but amazing... I'm a competitive dancer and I sprained my left ankle in gym class about 3 years ago and I've needed support since then but never found the right brace until now it is amazing and I can still dance in it. It is so supportive yet moveable.. MUST BUY!

Simply Amazing.
Without a doubt the best ankle brace I have found, and after 61 years of sprained ankles I have tried a lot of different types. I sprained my ankle last week again and my Bracoo just didn’t help much so I figured I try this. The first thing I noticed was immediate pain relief when I pulled the straps up, that motion put the ankle right back in place and kept it there. I was overjoyed to find out that it fit in my steel toe high ankle work boots and am able to wear it all day, I just have to remember to pull up on my sock once in awhile to keep everything in place. I really thought this time I would end up in hospital with a slew of missed work and hospital bills but so far , so good.
