The Winner!
Absolutely love it. I made the mistake of buying the Crosley version, but I have a new appreciation for this one. Everything works perfectly. The speed, the arm is soft and drops correctly, no slop, and start and stops perfectly The headphone jack sounds amazing. For the price, the speakers perform well. Buy this one, NOT the Crosley!

Great birthday gift
Got this for my wife's birthday and she loved it. Ignore the reviews about the speakers, they are not high quality and that's what I love about them. I got this to play records and I love that the speakers are not perfect on it it adds to the experience of listening to the beetles on vinyl. Nice packaging and looks great on our table in the living room. I would recommend this to the first time buyer

CAVEAT: I was born in the 1960's, so I know what to expect from a record player
I do think this was mislabeled as a "turntable." Back in the day, I thought of a "turntable" as a piece of a stereo sound system with a clear, softly- closing lid that completely covered the record you were playing and that you hooked up to your amp and speakers; this would have been a "record player." But the true nature of this product is obvious from the picture, so I wasn't expecting a "turntable." Compared to my early 1970's-era record player, it fares quite well. It does have a gentle-drop lever so you can softly drop the needling into the right place. The sound quality and volume are very good for one of these gizmos. Nice carrying case. I figured out how to use it without looking at the directions. Overall, I had a joyful experience sharing my old records with my kids, who loved working it. What I did not expect it to do: I did not expect it to connect to a high-quality sound system, I did not expect it to contain speakers like my little Bose guys (think about it - although those little Bose are small for speakers, they would not fit inside this thing along with the turning mechanism and motor), I did not expect it to withstand jumping nearby without skipping, I did not expect it to produce sound volume to power a party, and I did not expect it to play warped or scratched records. If I wanted a turntable so I could play new records and hook up to good speakers, maybe for a party, I would: expect to spend quite a bit more money than this, get something with a clear lid that covers the record as it plays, and never, ever get something with built-in speakers I also think there is something you have to expect in exchange for the true sound of this type of recording. From a CD or iPod, you hear a pure and sanitized sound, without crackles. The needle of a record player is so sensitive that you inevitably hear some crackles, but in exchange for having to "put up" with those, you get the full sound, not a digitized version. For me, the initial crackles at the very beginning were conditioned from a very young age to be akin to the aroma of cookies in the oven - my auditory mouth would water in anticipation of the coming sound. For someone born in 1990, you lost that opportunity for conditioning, but if you think of it as normal and just a price you pay, maybe you can put up with it.

The packaging was excellent. The glitch was reversal of the on/off switch
This is actually my second review on this item. On the first review I rated it with (3) stars only due to a small glitch in its operation. The packaging was excellent. The glitch was reversal of the on/off switch. On position was off and off position was on. Other than that it operated as it should. The sound quality is good and volume from the two front speakers is just fine for me. I've changed my review to (5) stars due to a very unexpected but much appreciated response via email from 1Byone Products. They were disappointed that I was not 100% satisfied with my purchase and immediately offered me one of two options. I could either get a replacement turntable at no cost without even returning the turntable in my possession "or" keep the turntable and get a "full" refund. Once I made my decision via an email response, their action was "realtime" immediate!!! This kind of customer service is so rare yet so refreshing! All I can say is "kudos" to them! This company is a class act that really does back their product! Not only do I recommend this particular item, I would recommend any purchase from iByone Products due to their awesome customer service!

This thing is awesome! I've never used a record player in my life although I've always wanted to. Setting it up was easy and although it took me a second to realize there was a plastic cover over the needle (yeaaahhhh I'm slow... and a millennial). Once I took that off I had awesome crackly oldies playing. The speakers aren't fantastic, but for the price I didn't expect anything fancy. You can plug it into another system with the aux port, so if I want to bump something I'll just plug it into my Bose speaker.

Sound is awesome just with the stock speakers
I am extremely impressed with his unit!! My daughter wanted a Crosley turntable for Christmas... But I read so many mixed/bad reviews about sound quality. This was well worth the money and looks similar to Crosley's units. Sound is awesome just with the stock speakers.

The kid likes it and it works.
I laughed out loud when my daughter wanted one of these for Christmas. Vinyl was nice in the era of 8-tracks and cassettes when I was growing up, since you could either purchase a single song on 45 or at least play just the tracks you wanted to play. I never expected my kid to want one, however. I thought that when these things fell out of favor that they would die. That said, once she figured out how to work it she uses this every night with the small vinyl collection she has gathered together since she requested one of these. As long as she is happy....

A good value
I ordered this record player as a gift and I have tested it out in order to be sure that it would meet expectations. It did! This little record player has several very nice little features. There is a mechanism that slowly lowers the needle onto the record, a switch that allows you to choose to stop the spinning at the end of the record and an adapter for 45s. I played records for about 2 hours before repacking it to gift. There were no problems. The sound quality was pretty decent for a small record player. Overall, I would say this is a good value for the money and I am very pleased witb the quality. I would recommend this item. There were no problems with shipping and it arrived quickly and well packed.

Yes we can dance again...
I got this for my 5 years old twin granddaughters so I could introduce them to the music of the Four Tops, The Beach Boys, The Stones and when their mother is not around Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Mousercise that we hung onto from back in "her" day. The girls love it as does their mom. It was a smart buy. If you have grandkids and those choice albums of yours, you might want to think about buying this.
