What a great product! I needed something to add weight to a free-standing porch umbrella and this item did the trick. Delivered quickly, perfect fit around the umbrella pole and totally covers surface of stand. A little messy to fill re a velcroued opening on the top that could stand to be a little wider, but cleaned up nicely and a good solid seal to keep out moisture. Made of what appears to be very durable material. I expect it to serve its purpose well.

Black tough weatherproof fabric with a zipper closure. Took exactly the amount of sand they recommended. I bought the sand at Home Detop. I used a giant kitchen spoon to fill it after placing it over the umbrella base. Large garden/patio umbrellas are hard to hold down in the wind, this solved the problem. My best guess is this will last 10 years in the Florida sun. Great product.

FInally got the Gravipod installed. Looks like it makes the umbrella very stable. With this 80 lb sand-filled bag over a 50 lb base, 130 lb base in total, would seem umbrella very secure. Still will be a good idea to lower it some in very windy conditions. Also, idea for others, umbrella is on a south patio. West sun moves over the seasons, so need to move umbrella. So, bought a large, heavy duty planter stand with wheels (off Amazon) and can move umbrella to accommodate seasonal movement of sun. Also, had considered using cement rather than sand in bag but decided that was a change without much, if any, of a difference. Great product, very well made, right price.

Exactly what I was looking for. Our 11ft market umbrella was blowing over in the weighted umbrella base. Filled it with pea gravel instead of sand and so far it's worked perfectly, even on some high wind days (15-20mph gusts). Would definitely recommend and buy again.

We moved into a new home and needed a solution to keep the umbrellas from falling over (and into the pool) so gave these a try. They're great. They do what we needed them to do. We had a ton of river rock we'd moved from landscaping in the yard and that was perfect to fill the bag. (Both a round base and a square base were purchased.)

We purchased this for our little bistro table. Our umbrella was always taking down the table whenever there was wind. We spent more time dealing with the effects of the wind than actually enjoying using the table. After doing considerable research we found this product. We ordered a bag of play sand, like that used in a sand box, to fill the GRAVIPOD. The opening to fill it is the perfect size and has some heavy duty velcro keeping it closed. We first slipped the GRAVIPOD over the umbrella stand and then placed the table over that. We then inserted the umbrella. The GRAVIPOD was filled after everything was put together. That way we weren't trying to manipulate a heavy sand bag. The GRAVIPOD sits on top of the umbrella base and does not detract aesthetically at all. It is made of heavy duty material so I think it should last.

The bag was a little difficult to fill. They have a sleeve opening, like an envelope. Would have worked better if it folded back, with velcro to keep it in place. However, you only fill it once! Definitely anchors the umbrella. We bought two 50 pound bags of sand at our local home improvement store, and used about 75 to 80 pounds. Sand was under $4 per bag. Very satisfied.

We keep our 9' tilting umbrella on an upstairs patio, where is gets a lot of wind and there is no table to support it. This bag keeps the umbrella stable, even when tilted. For peace of mind alone, this is worth the money.

I have brought several weighted umbrella stands. I live in Texas and we have inclement weather always. The wind picks up out of nowhere. My umbrellas kept ending up in the pool or up against the fence. So every time the wind starts blowing I'm in a panic to put the umbrellas down. I found this product and I didn't use sand, I used small pea gravel. I was afraid if they blew into my pool sand would be a huge mess. Anyway the gravel worked out perfect. My husband forgot to put the umbrellas down last night and at around midnight when I took the dog out they hadn't blown over. It was super windy. At first I ordered 2 and after I saw how well they worked, I bought 3 more.

Some reviews almost made me not buy this but so glad I did. Yes it is awkward to fill but totally something that can be done. The other day we had really high winds, my umbrella sits 4 feet off the ground on a deck. I can say this stand does its job very well. Also it is soft to place you feel onto while sitting if you use it with a table. One down side is I can barely move it if I desire to relocate my umbrella, it's that heavy! Highly recommend. A tip is when filling use a funnel and it makes the job easier. You only have to fill once so it's worth the effort for the stability.
