Locks My Cantilevered Umbrella Stand in Place
My cantilevered patio umbrella contraption would not be useable without this base plate set. After filling each of the four segments with rocks and placing them as shown in the photo, the umbrella stand became locked in place at its location. This is what the product was designed to do and this is what it does with very little muss and no fuss.

Filled the four thick plastic umbrella stand base weights with playground sand and then topped it off with water to compress the sand and add more weight. Then screwed the caps on each section, insured there was no leaking and placed the fore segments at the base of my 11 foot Abba Patio Umbrella. We've since had some good winds blow through at my house but the tall umbrella never moves. Of course when I want to move the umbrella the four weighted segments are fairly easy to pick up so that it all can be moved. I've never weighed the segments since filling with sand and water but would guess each weighs maybe 40 to 50 pounds or two hundred pounds all in.

These weighted triangular shapes for my beautiful umbrella were easy to fill & arrived as I was informed they would & after reading a few reviews, taking bits of info from a few reviews & a video, I used fine sand which worked with ease by using a sturdy plastic funnel that I happened to Have! A friend 'ingeniously opened' the fine 'sandbox' type of fine sandbag & let it flow down thru funnel with no fuss-no muss!!! They click perfectly in between as descriptions detail. I/we can sit on patio with confidence of approximately 150 lb of heavy duty plastic weights looking as if it is a part of & not add-on under the gorgeous umbrella!!! Great price- easy to fill- and would buy this again if needed elsewhere as I recommend to all !!! You definitely won't b sorry...

Great, if you know how to fill it quickly
This worked like a charm and fit the Abba 11' umbrella base perfectly. Here's the trick to fill it quickly with sand: 1) Use DRY sand so it doesn't clump. I used Quikrete 1962-51 medium sand, and it says right on the package "kiln dried" 2) Tape the funnel to the plate opening. The funnel doesn't fit inside the opening, for some reason. So just place it against the opening and tape it all the way around. Then you can pour the sand in quickly. Should take about a minute to fill each.

Extremely happy with the product
We filled each piece with sand purchased for about $11 from our local landscaping retailer and once attached to our umbrella on the deck, that baby is not going anywhere! Tested with a fairly strong breeze the other day and it didn't budge. Extremely happy with the product, it does what it says it does. Not easy to change the position of the umbrella once it's in place but that's to be expected given how heavy each piece is once it's filled the sand. Shipping was longer than usual but international for us so not unexpected. Excellent product.

Fill with quickcrete
The instructions are a great example of bad Chinese to English translation, in that it says to add "quicksand". Because we don't live in a bad 30's movie, it is a translation error, and it should say quickcrete. Once you make this simple connection, the cap being simply push on or why the design shouldn't be leaking water should make more sense.

Perfect base weights easily filled with gravel.
These plastic base fillers fit perfectly into the umbrella base. I bought three bags of "river gravel" from a big-box home improvement store to fill them. I held the plastic containers upright over an empty wheelbarrow and used plastic beer/soda cups to transfer the gravel from the open gravel bags into the containers. Any spillage was collected by the wheelbarrow, so I didn't have to be neat and could keep ladling the material into the containers until all three were full. It only took me about 20 minutes to fill all three containers. I had about a third of a bag of gravel left over. They are plenty heavy.

Required umbrella base weights.
Appear to be well made and durable. Fit the stand on my umbrella perfectly and they are definitely required to keep the umbrella standing. I used one bag of paver sand in each unit (about 0.5 cubic ft) and it seemed just short of full. A minor problem was that my sand was moist in the plastic bags it came in so I could not simply pour the sand in. It took over an hour to spoon it in with a trowel. Not the maker's problem but something to keep in mind. Some people mentioned that the caps were difficult to remove - I had no problem prying them off with the trowel. After all, you want them to feel tight. Existing weight is 34-37 lbs. in each section and this weight seems sufficient even on windy days. I can add a little more sand and water if necessary. One problem I had is that the units tended to slip slightly as the pole flexed in the wind and I feared they could move off the flange on the cross legs of the base. To remedy this, I built a simple "collar" which keeps them in place. See the picture below. Obviously it is not attached to the units, it just keeps them from shifting. .

Perfect weights for what we needed!
We have a Steel Umbrella stand that did not have enough weight to keep it standing, especially on a windy day. We tried to place other weights on the base. We tied them in place, stacked them, really did not look very appealing. We found these weights on Amazon that are designed to fit on the base with perfect fit. I will upload a couple photos to show this fit. They can be filled with sand and then add water to add extra weight. Each one came in at around 35 pounds. With this much weight, this umbrella is not going anywhere! These were perfect for the job and they are stylish at the same time. Nice thing is in winter you can dump out the sand and store them empty if you would like to do so, and refill them in the spring. From what I can see, these weights were designed to fit a Cantilever base as well, but I would take measurements first to make sure they fit your base before ordering.

Good Alternative to concrete disc
Don't want to spend $150 on a concrete disc, or several hundred dollars on a cast iron base? This might a good alternative option. The 4 pieces of the base and a simple funnel was shipped in this package, sand is of course not included. I filled it used approximately 1.5 cubic feet of play sand and water making a nice weight for the umbrella. The experience filling this with sand was mostly good. The instruction said to fill it with Quick Sand, but unable to find it at local home improvement store, I made do with regular play sand. Took approximately 1 hour to fill all four pieces with the funnels provided. If your plan is to fill each piece with water only without the sand, this is NOT the product for you. The cap is not a screw on it will be able to create a water tight seal, the 3 KG ( 3 Liter, or approximately 12 cups ) of water the manufacture recommend is probably low enough to not touch the cap when its lay flat. The Good: - Already provided the plastic funnel - 4 separate piece means less stress on your back and legs after it filled with sand and water - Simple decoration on the top side, makes it not look complete boring versus a concrete disc The Bad: - The funnel in my case is slightly larger than the opening, forcing me to use one hand to keep the funnel somewhat aligned. Had the funnel being the right size/shape, where it can sit on the open, the filling experience would have been far better. Additionally, the play sand I bought was a bit damp and wet; causing it to stick too much, which worsen the filling experience. If the sand is completely dry, probably would be way easier to fill too.
