I absolutely love it! The water does not touch any plastic parts until I poor water out. They claim all parts are BPA free which is something very important when it comes to kettles. I could not find a single electric kettle that has no plastic parts, all of them touch the water while it's boiling. This one I could not find a single plastic part inside the water. For the first few days there was a smell coming from the top of the kettle, but that smell disappeared. This kettle is light to pick up and good looking.

So far, I love it. Bought this to replace my Bodum Bistro kettle, which was continually making my tea and house smell like melted plastic meets electrical fire. Agree with other users that when using the OXO Glass, it is a bit hard to pour out the last drop of water to dry it completely after use (in fear of rust). But I have accomplished this by leaving it open & upside down in my dish rack after use. So thankful my tea tastes like fresh matcha, not plastic, that I am giving this 5 stars, regardless.

Ok, I wanted to wait to write a review on this kettle. I purchased this in December last year 2016, after my old kettle gave up the ghost. After recycling the 3rd cheapo kettle, I did a ton of googling, and landed on this one. All glass and stainless, the only bit of plastic is the top fill lid, so no worries with the possibilities of chemical leaching from the plastic. So, six months later and it still looks brand new, it truly is beautiful and fun to watch water boil in the morning waiting for the first cup of Joe, while I veg. I boil full kettles on average about 3 times a day and not a problem. The only real cleaning is a quick rinse every now and then, I can completely recommend the product, if you're tired of throwing away 20 - 30 bucks every 2 months.

A great quality, sleek-looking kettle. I am a big fan of OXO's products, so was not surprised to be very pleased with this kettle. It holds a good quantity of water, enough to make tea/coffee for any reasonable number of people with a single boil. It seems sturdy, and well made. The soft-close lid is a nice touch, and the soft light illuminating the on/off switch is attractive. I have used this kettle multiple times a day for two weeks. There are some minor issues, which do not bother me, but may annoy others. It boils for at least 5-10 seconds before shutting off automatically, which seems a little wasteful - if I'm standing beside it, I'll usually click it off early. Also, it is not clear from the picture that there are some plastic components (BPA free, I believe) that will come into contact with the boiled water (I know this is a concern for some people). Also, it appears that some water condenses in the tip of the spout while the kettle is boiling - this tips out when you go to pour, then there is a delay while the main body of water catches up.

Bought this based on a rating by a cooking show. Once you use it, you see the advantages. First, it does BOIL the water! Not a bubbling, but a rolling, roiling hot water. Means it! You'll appreciate the soft-open lid when it doesn't fling hot water on you. Then, you start to find reasons to use this over the microwave and stove top. Example? You want hot dogs . . . pour boiling hot water over them, then serve them hot in moments. Other excuses to use this? French press coffee! Much sooner since this boils water so fast. I'm enjoying this thing more with every new idea on how to use it. Both the base and the pitcher stay cool on the bottoms so you don't need hot pads to protect delicate counter tops or table tops.

This electric kettle does exactly what its supposed to do, boil water. Added bonus, watching it boil! It is taller than I expected but I like the clean lines of this kettle. Modern and efficient - boils quickly and quietly. LED light in the on/off switch. Mine doesn't have any plastic filter in the spout. Highly recommend and would buy this item again. It arrived in two days with free shipping! Best deal in town!

I am so glad I purchased this product. I use it all the time. The only thing is that if you have a larger hand, you may not be able to get into the actual item to dry it - so I just suggest stuffing paper towels into it to soak up any remaining moisture before putting away. Otherwise, it's great! Boils water faster than my stovetop!

WHY haven't I discovered this electric kettle earlier? This is SO easy to use and completely replaces those old school kettle warmers you have to wait patiently by the stove for the water to boil. I've filled this kettle to the brink and it can still boil the water in 2-3 minutes. It's saved me so much time making tea, filling by hot water bottle, doing epsom salt compresses, making instant ramen, etc. Easily one of the most practical kitchen gadgets I've added this year.

love it so far....it is a large capacity for 2 people, but the style is what i was looking for. If they made it in a smaller version, it'd be perfect. only drawback as another viewer mentioned is there is a rim at the top of the glass that prevents all the water from emptying out. not a big deal as we use this daily with reverse osmosis water, so there is no sediment build up. fingers crossed that this lasts as long as others say....

I love my OXO On Cordless Glass Electric Kettle. I read most of the Reviews on it before purchasing so was prepared to handle the water retention issues. Since drying the inside of the glass and bottom is hard to reach with my hand I usually place a crumple paper towel in the bottom and add a light weight dishtowel to absorb all the water after I am finished with the kettle for the morning. I also descale the kettle at least twice a month with half water/half white vinegar as I have very hard water. The handle makes it so easy to control the pour, very stable. Having a clear glass view is great, too. The kettle holds a lot of water so we can set up several cups of tea at a time. Our climate is high altitude so we appreciate that it heats to boiling fast so we can reheat quickly if needed. Much faster than a stove top tea kettle as well as the other electric tea kettles I've had. The glowing light on the heat lever is easy to see when the kettle is on so I always know when it is either on or off. I've only had it for two months so I'll review again next summer for wear and tear.
