I bought these cannisters of pepper spray for my college granddaughter as well as her roommates. Rather than being on campus, they are residing in a college-owned apartment which is several blocks from the main campus. I felt quite unhappy knowing that there would be times when she - and her roommates - would need to walk back to the apartment at night time. The pepper spray cannisters were very well received by all of the girls. AND, the website to which the user is directed prior to using the spray, was absolutely wonderful. Not only did it teach how to use the spray, but it helped by teaching how one should walk, hold their posture, etc. when walking alone.

Had to buy a replacement one because the plastic on my previous one cracked. I love the color for this one. Also has a lock mechanism, so it doesn't get accidentally pressed. I actually like this one a little more than my old one, which was the same brand, but this one has grooves for your fingers for better grip

Bought this for my daughter in college. All I can say is . . . kids will be kids and they tested it out as a joke. It works!!!!! They won't be testing it again. She will be in good hands if she ever needs to use it in a bad situation.

I just received two that I ordered for my wife and recently turned 16 daughter (and new driver). arrived quickly and being a prior lawman, I am familiar with this brand. I have this piece of advice if one plans on attaching the canister to their car keys while driving. You actually only need two of the rings, instead of the three that comes attached, or else it may be to bulky.. One attached to key(s) and the other directly to the spray. If you plan on attaching it to your car keys, I did do some experimenting on how the quick release should be placed, meaning which end needs to go toward the canister and which end needs to be near the ignition key. Here is an example on why this is important : If you're driving with the canister attached to your ignition key, and come to a stop, say a red light, and someone approaches and tries to enter your vehicle, you will need to be able to quickly release the canister without having to remove your key from the ignition . That being said, make sure the quick release tab is facing the right direction, or it will be difficult to release if it is turned upside down. You will need to try both ways to see which works best for you.

It's smaller than I expected which is a very good thing. I thought it would be too bulky and unwieldy in my pocket, but it's not. Only 3 fingers fit on the front to hold it (which should be obvious from the picture but I didn't look too closely) I was worried that the trigger might flip off the safety in my pocket and accidentally discharge on its own. It's true that the lever might flip over, but the trigger takes more force than expected to press down so it can't accidentally fire. Just make sure you test it with a quick burst out on the grass or in the street when you get it so you get a feel for what it takes. The color is very nice and it could be mistaken for a dog poo bag canister if you're worried about it being discreet. I also love that it helps support a good cause. The "quick release" has to be pressed a certain way (since it's indented) with your finger going parallel to the clasp. In a split second emergency where you need to drop this and keep your keys, it might be a little tricky, but it also keeps the pepper spray from just detaching your keys all the time. I haven't tried it out on a person, but I've seen YouTube videos of it being used on a police officer and he couldn't physically open his eyes. So I figure it works pretty well. A couple tips: If you have to spray into wind, cover your eyes and mouth so you don't incapacitate yourself as well. If the person is wearing glasses, aim for the mouth and nose. It will make it difficult to breathe, burn their skin, and the proximity to their eyes can still blind them temporarily. Don't touch your face or eyes after using it. It's better to be safe than sorry and wash your hands first.

This is an awesome product, and not only because it helps women in developing countries. The blue color is almost more of a seafoam blue and flatter than in the picture, which makes it prettier in my opinion. The plastic is quality, and the key rings are as well, quite shiny. At first I thought it would either be hard to use or easy to accidentally engage, but I was wrong. It's an easy turn and push, but without deliberate direction and force (it's like opening a new lotion bottle or soap dispenser pump) it doesn't go anywhere you don't want it to. The quick release function works well, too. It's bigger than most things I'd like on a key chain, but it's quite lighter than I expected. A test spray proved it shoots out a distance as told. It's also a reddish color. Be sure not to test spray into the wind or on anything you don't want to stain, as I'm guessing it will (not a bad feature when you want a perp to get caught). I have yet to need it in my daily life, but I think having it on my keychain prevented me from being followed by a man who was catcalling me. Even having it without using it makes me feel safer.

Love this handy safety device. Powerful and with 25 sprays. I keep mine on my nightstand since my husband works nights. I feel much safer. Even though we have an alarm system, I need to feel comfortable when I'm sleeping. Easy to use - push down and aim. My daughters have these on their key chains which makes me feel better knowing they have some kind of defense when walking to their cars. I can take mine with me too when I head out. Very portable. The aqua is bright so its easy to find. My youngest daughter (who is more skiddish) always has hers out and in her hand when going anywhere. It just gives you that extra piece of mind. Better to be safe than sorry. I would feel horrible if my children needed these and didnt have them. Exceptional price and value.

Arrived on time. It works. When doing the test shot, shot pretty far, but when I went to clean it up I caught a tiny hint of it and started coughing a little bit. Seemed really strong. I'm happy with it, and happy for the female that gets a free canister to protect herself.

I have no idea whether the pepper spray actually works because thankfully I haven't had to use it, but I definitely feel safer having it close at hand. I like the fact that it can unclip quickly if needed. I will say that I often find that the nozzle has swiveled into visible position when my keys are floating around in my pocket or purse and getting jostled around. However, the likelihood of the spray accidentally being triggered still seems incredibly low so this doesn't bother me much. It definitely adds bulk to your keys but the peace of mind is worth it.

Nice compact keychain-sized pepper spray. I keep it in-hand while walking my dog, in case one of our inconsiderate neighbors let their vicious dogs run loose and one comes after us. Approximate ten foot spray is a pretty direct stream, all you have to do is fan back and forth near the attacker's eye level and it will back them right off. I like the color, and Sabre is a pretty trusted name. Supposedly has 25 uses (bursts) which is way more than other brands of the same size. Good price!
