Carbon fiber finish for my WRX trunk
I purchased the VVIVID XPO Vinyl to wrap the trunk of my 2015 WRX. Overall I was very pleased with the item. I am inclined to think most of my problems came from user error other then product failure. That being said, Below is my breakdown based on what I was looking for in the product; Packaging/Shipping: The vinyl came within two days in a full roll. I know there were some concerns for the sheet coming folded. This was not the case and the roll was crease-less. Open the box for the first time outdoors however. The bottled up vinyl smell is a bit strong when the product is first opened up. Product Quality: My first thought was "Wow this is more stiff then I expected". Most of this stiffness is due to the backing paper. The carbon fiber is more of a raw texture giving it a matte finish. It still has a great look, just not as glossy as real carbon fiber parts. This is all a look preference though. I think it looks better with less gloss. Ease of Use/Installation: This is a mixed bag for me. If one has a smooth, semi flat to flat surface, then installation is a breeze. I started on the top of my trunk and that was a quick as anything to install. The vinyl is super forgiving and very easy to push bubbles through. My trouble come with the turn down to the back side of the trunk. The vinyl is nice in that it is heat activated. This allows one to pull up and re-position many times with no issues. I had to pull up and place the back a few times and one of them used too much force. This resulted in a tear in the vinyl. At this point I had to scrap the back of the trunk and just do the top. Like I said, this tear was most likely my own error. Overall, I thought it was very easy to use if one is patient with it. Durability: The installation was about 4 weeks ago and the product is holding up just like the day I installed it. Some bubbles will appear days after the install as it is baking in the sun. All one needs to do is rub them and the air release tech will do the rest. Overall: Really great product. I actually plan on purchasing more to wrap my roof and hood. Looks great from any angle. I have had a few people ask about it already because it looks so good. Five stars based on the fact that I was a complete beginner and was still able to do a professional looking job. Great for first time users of vinyl wrap!

Patience and practice is the key to success
I wanted to do the dash trim in my CLA 250 in dry carbon. None of the wrap businesses in this area would take on a job this small, so I knew I'd have to do it myself. My first try, I threw up my hands in frustration, deciding it was impossible. But I started watching videos on YouTube on how to do vinyl wrapping and went at it again. After a couple of practice sessions, I started the job for real. It took about 90 minutes and lots of patient working with the vinyl--a kiss of heat here from the heat gun, a pull and stretch there, and on and on--but in the end: success.

Item works well and looks good for sure and I'm writing this months after I ...
Only issue I had was that the item came in undersized and ended up buying another section. Listen up guys, if item is not cut as described.....DO NOT CALL VViViD. I called them as the instruction said and I ended up paying more even with the so-called discount they gave me. Not to mention, the call is going to cost you cause your calling international....Canada. Item works well and looks good for sure and I'm writing this months after I installed it. Those that say the glue does not stick....Well don't knw what they are talking about. I had some scrap pieces fall on a dirty shop floor and months later they are still stuck to the floor in front of my tool box.

Great product for a good price.
Great product and good price. I have never worked with vinyl wrap before but I have done vinyl graphics. Overall I think this stuff is pretty easy to work with as long as you use the proper tools and have patience. A heat gun, a good razor and felt tip squeegee is all you really need for small interior trim jobs. You may need some other tools for bigger exterior jobs. The thing with designs like carbon fiber is that you need to keep the pattern in tact and not stretch too much or the wrong direction. Overall my small interior trim job came out pretty good on my ram center console and dash. Taking parts off to do them is much easier than trying to do while still on the car but it is doable on the car. I made a couple small mistakes but that was my error, not the product. Overall it looks and feels great. Save any decent sized pieces that you cut off and put it back on the application paper so you can use it elsewhere. I recommend this product and brand.

Works well; recommend a heat gun with install
First, great quality vinyl wrap. Length was 5ft and width was 1ft as stated. However I did measure in a few places for width and found there to be a slight variation. Bit this was about 1/8 of an inch over the 5ft span. The vinyl cut easily with a razor knife and adhesion is good without adding adhesive. Now for installation; I bought this because we have had extremely hot days that caused my vent air freshener to drip down the dash. The chemical and heat are through the finish of the radio control panel and trim. Thoroughly cleaned all surfaces with rubbing alcohol. Also note I removed all trim pieces and stereo control panel for this install. I have watched several videos of this being applied without removing the trim, but the end results didn’t look desirable around the edges. And all of these did not have a navigation screen. Most videos state to cut in corners to apply without creasing. Then I watched a video of professionals applying to the outside of vehicles. They heat the vinyl and slightly stretch then push out creases and bubbles. I used a $16 genesis two temperature heat gun also purchased on amazon. Using a heat gun made the install extremely easy and forgiving. In addition this also made the adhesive set up and harden faster. Using this method allowed for a tight comforming fit on the trim pieces. In addition by matching the pattern the heat allowed for better seams. The heat allowed easy manipulation by hand with no vinyl tools required. All trim tools I purchased from harbor freight as the entire kit was only 7.99. And a .99cent razor knife. I used the trim tools to push in any pieces the dislocated after reinstall of trim. The wrap did not prevent trim pieces to fail to install and no damage occurred to the trim in the process.

You can do this yourself with professional results!
This is the second vinyl product I have bought from VVivid Vinyl. I cleaned the area on the car with soap & water and then with 90% alcohol and then used sticky notes and painters tape to make a template of the bumper grill area of my 2010 Camaro (this made for perfect fit shape) and then placed the template onto the vinyl, traced it, cut it out, and then used the wet method of 1 drop of dawn dish soap to 8 oz. of water and sprayed both the bumper grill area and the vinyl and stuck it to the car. I also used a hair dryer to heat the vinyl to make it stick, but also to help it curl up around the headlight areas to stretch the vinyl slightly during installation. You CAN do vinyl on your car by yourself.

That stuff is great. What else can I cover in this product now!?
I'm impressed. There's a lot of options out there, and I think I managed to strike gold on the first try - believe the other 5 star reviews here: it's good stuff. I covered the center console in my '05 Subaru Legacy - the bezel around the shifter, the door to the ashtray, and the radio/climate control face. The shift bezel and ashtray door were pretty easy; the radio console was a downright nuisance: odd compound curves, and 19 cutouts. To accomplish that panel, I taped the panel down, then taped a sheet of tracing paper over it, so I could trace out all the necessary cutouts. Then I made the cutouts on the trace paper, and taped it to the vinyl film, and made my cutout there. The key here is a new blade on your Xacto, and slow & steady as you go. This is the most reliable way to finish those complex pieces. When it comes to applying it, a hairdryer on low heat is your friend - added just enough pliability to the film to make wrapping the edges secure. I'm really pleased with how it came out, and this proved to be a high quality product which indubitably gave my first attempts at this their large margin for success. And that's just working with it; once it's installed - the texture, the look and feel of the product - it's extremely convincing. Even without having tried other products, I can confidently say I'll come back to this one again and again; it's that good. The downside? Nothing is safe. I'm still working on my wife to let me pretty up the interior of her car. However, she has adamantly refused to let me cover the refrigerator, the stove, and/or the dishwasher in it though. Not even the coffee maker. Won't even budge. Maybe the TV remotes (I'll start small). My rechargeable battery. I wonder if she'd notice if I did the bezel around the TV ... I think I'm going to need to order some more ...

Easy to work with
I had originally purchased some "china" vinyl from ebay for half the price of this and attempted to wrap my center console with it. After watching hours of youtube videos about vinyl wrapping technique I thought I was confident enough to do a good job. I worked for hours on 3 somewhat small pieces and the outcome was AWFUL! I wrapped and rewrapped the pieces so many times thinking I was doing things wrong. So I went back to the drawing board and did more research on vinyl products by each manufacturer. I had considered buying Avery however Vvivid has excellent reviews and a lot of them said they were novice friendly. So I decided to go with this product. After working with the "china" vinyl I can say that it is a night and day difference. Not only does it feel different but it stretches with and without heat differently. This was IMMENSELY easy to work with compared to the other stuff I used. The glue is 100x better as well.I would say it took me roughly 4 hours to do the 3 pieces since 1 of them is a complicated shape with WAY to many small circles in it. I've showed my work to a number of people and they all think that it's a factory option so I must have done a good job. I have no idea how well this product works for pieces that are exposed to weather however for interior pieces this is an awesome product.

This stuff is great!
I used this to cover up the ugly wood interior trim pieces in my car. It looks great and it was pretty easy to do. I have never applied vinyl before and I found it pretty easy. I used a heat gun to carefully warm up the vinyl in order to stretch it around curves/corners. I've had it applied for about a week now. If I ever have any problems with it coming loose or fading or anything I will update this review.

Great Product
I slapped this wrap on my door pillars, side mirror covers, trunk paneI, and license plate cover. I ordered a 5ft by 5ft sheet , It has a Nice Matte look to it, The 4D offers a more Glossy finish. INSTALLING: When Appling make sure to cut the edges longer the heat from the sun will shrink the wrap and will expose what you wrapped. Also use a heat gun or hair dryer at low heat to stretch the wrap. This brand is pretty thick so it can stretch.
