Loved it while it worked and now love that the seller replaced it immediately.

Update: seller responded and will replace the device without question in less than 24 hours. Loved it while it worked, certainly exceeds what i need; but i use it sparingly; after sitting unused for several months; it didn't turn on. I replaced the battery and it would work for a few seconds and then act like a computer that was trying to reboot; the LCD would just show nonsense. i tried a brand new battery from the store; same thing. it will seem to work while i hold the battery clip between my fingers but as soon as i ever so gently tighten the screw for the clip, the LCD goes nuts. Would love to hear what I'm doing wrong.

Very well made instrument... surprisingly, it's really stainless steel!

I wasn't expecting this level of quality from a Chinese made caliper, but was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The packaging and plastic case are the usual Made in China junk, but the caliper is very well made and all stainless steel. I expected the housing for the electronics to be made of plastic, but it is not. Spent a little while measuring a few things of known dimensions, and all were dead on the money. In the picture, I had to take my hand off of the 5/8" bushing to operate the camera, and it slipped out of position, so the reading is slightly off. It was actually reading .6250 while I had the piece supported, which is correct.

Great product and great customer service

The product itself has been great, no complaints at all. The customer service though is outstanding. I lost one of the small screws holding the battery case on when changing the battery and reached out to EAGems to ask about the screw specifications to replace it. They sent me a new screw free of charge and were very communicative over email. Would definitely buy from again.

Best bang for the buck! No doubt about it!

These calipers are fantastic! The customer service has been nothing short of excellent. As others have stated, they send a nice follow up to check on whether or not you are satisfied and send some tips for use and care. It's a nice touch and they don't overdo it. I think they sent 2 or 3 emails just making sure I was happy. I am! Seems to be a family run business and a great one to support. I have been using my boss's calipers for years now and decided it's time to get my own. He has Mitutoyo digital calipers that he has owned for 15+ years. There is no doubt that his are fantastic and have withstood the test of time. They also cost (especially at the time) a substantial amount more than these. When I received them my boss wanted to see how badly I got ripped off... He was amazed! You can feel the quality of these right off the bat. The slider action is smooth and they seem to be dead accurate. I used his to test these against and they were right on every time. It's nice that you can switch between mm, in, and fractions. The "menu" is simple and bright enough to see even outdoors. The box they come in is worth keeping for so long as it lasts and they even throw in an extra battery and screw driver into the kit for you. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend these to anyone looking to purchase their first calipers or replace their old workhorse set.

Great measuring tool and outstanding customer service!!

I've used this caliper numerous times now for pipe and ammo case diameter measurements where I used to just eyeball a tape measure or ruler or not measure at all. This has an easy-to-read LCD screen and has the heavy well made feel of stainless steel. I especially like the button that allows switching the LCD between decimal, metric and fractional measurements. The 2 year warranty, automatic on-off, spare battery, storage box and price helped me make the decision to buy this one. The "zero" button works well and I have been rechecking the "zero" after each use and it remains right on. I always wonder how customer service will be if I need it. I had the opportunity to contact EAGems and was very pleased with their support and prompt service. When the caliper 1st arrived I noticed evidence that the item had been previously opened and used (apparently Amazon had reshipped a returned product). I emailed EAGems with explanation and pictures and they immediately arranged a replacement caliper to be sent! If you want a great caliper and the assurance of outstanding customer support I highly recommend this digital caliper and EAGems!!

I have bought a few digital calipers for work and none of them were any good because they always had some kind of a gap between the upper jaws used for measuring inner dimensions and my company works with ISO so it is very important that there are no gaps what so ever and this one was perfect our quality control calibrated it and it was just about perfect love how smooth it glides and I like the large display screen. The stainless steel construction of it is very sturdy and durable so far the best caliper I have bought and for the price you can't beat it. Highly highly recommended. The box isn't anything fancy just a basic plastic box could have gone with something nicer but than for the price you can't complain otherwise the price would be higher

Definitely a keeper - far more accurate than the cheapos

I received this today, and started using it on some bicycle repair projects. Bike repair and component replacement is much more complicated than my youth days; you need to know the accurate specs of your bike. The caliper measuring tool I had from Harbor Freight was too inaccurate, causing confusion when I read the specs of components online. Upon putting this tool to work, the spec reading and comparison problem was solved. The caliper tool is far more accurate than the cheapo calipers. Also, the instrument is heavy; it has a solid, hefty feel. It is made of hardened, stainless steel. The readout console is clear and has precision buttons for On/Off, mm/inches/Fractions, and Zero set. When I read the measurement setting in the console, the numbers stay put; they don't fluctuate like the cheapo HF instrument. The case stores the instrument securely with two latches that snap shut. This baby is a keeper.

Has a nice feel and weight in your hand

I purchased this item to help me measure small increments, as my eye sight is changing. I have only used it a few times so far, but I very much like it. It has a nice sturdy feel and smooth movement. Simple to use and easy to read. Gives accurate measurements and comes in a nice blow molded case for protection. A friend of mine commented on the nice feel in your hand. The vendor is very attentive to your happiness with the product and sent an email with complete operation manual and hints for use and care. I would recommend this Caliper.

Well worth the few dollars more

My use for this caliper is principally in reloading ammunition and related measurements. I questioned paying a few dollars more for this one but was impressed by its features and warranty. The one I replaced cost a few dollars less but was devoid of some features and just died for no apparent reason since it had been used in a climate controlled environment for about a year. It is a pleasure to use and the warranty gives me a comfort level that was not the case with previous digital calipers. In short, this is a good example of the old saying, "Penny wise and pound foolish."

Great caliper.

This Digital caliper does everything I could ask of it. I love it. I really like the option of fractions of an inch and decimal of an inch plus the metric. Sometimes I'l just use it for my fraction conversions when I'm lazy. I've had it for a year now and just changed the battery. And the kicker is that it came with an extra new battery. The only thing that it lacks is that its not as hardened of a stainless as my old vernier caliper... So I don't use it to scribe marks. Just as well because that is a thing that you are better off using an older caliper to do since it does eventually screw up the edge. Anyway...I'd buy another tomorrow if I lost this one. I may eventually buy another just for keeps sakes. Great product.
