- PRV240 reduces the risk of shock and arc flash by validating the functionality of test tools without placing yourself in a potentially hazardous electrical environment
- Sources both ac and dc steady-state voltage - supplies 240 V dc/ac
- A single LED indicates functionality, making this unit a simple-to-use solution for verification of your test tool
- Compatible with both high impedance or low impedance multimeters, clamp meters or two pole testers
- Voltage is sourced through recessed contacts that are activated when tested probes are inserted to avoid accidental contact

Should be required equipment. Why isn’t it? Let me explain…
I purchased this almost immediately upon learning of its existence. I’m a strong believer in LDL testing, but let’s be honest: that is almost impossible in real-life industrial field work. Your average plant doesn’t have receptacles located anywhere (much less everywhere) you might need to prove your meter for troubleshooting purposes, much less for confirmation of hazardous energy isolation. Another benefit of a proving unit such as this is being able to practice what you preach: all safety programs stress LDL testing, and this device makes such a life-saving policy remarkably convenient. I’ll go so far as to say that this kind of tool should be a requirement on every electrical job site, and the fact that it isn’t just goes to show that “safety departments” are intended to keep insurance costs down and deflect liability instead of actually improving employees’ work safety environment.
