Great for indoor fun!

This activity has been a lifesaver this summer. We've been stuck inside because of the heat and my son is staying busy with it. The best part, everything's included except for a few things you need around the house. You don't have to wait to use it because you are missing something. It's been really fun seeing my son learn new things.

"Show and Tell"

I ordered the two-set package of the “Optical Illusions” and the "Crazy Scientist’s Water/Gel” Illusions kit for my 7 year old. Since Papa was visiting for the weekend, I asked my son to do one (any ONE) of the activities with his Dad, and then explain to Papa what he did, and what happened as a result. This turned out to be an amazing activity. He started with the “Magical Piggy Bank” and he did a fairly good job explaining to Papa what happened. Papa was duly impressed and excited with the whole process. So excited in fact, that my son asked him to pick the next activity and the 3 if them could do it together. And they did. Together the three explained what took place in each experiment they did to the rest of us family members. What I really found interesting was that my son really thought each step though so he could get us to understand what took place. By the end of the weekend they had tried all of the experiments and now are making the decision of which next Crazy Scientist Lab Kits to order next! What really impressed me was how a 7 year old paid pretty close attention to the processes so he, along with his father and grandfather, could adequately explain to the rest of the family what happened in each experiment. A fun and informative "show and tell"!

Interesting and contributing fun science kit!

This kit was a hit in our house! My older ones (10 and 9 years old) had lots of fun doing the experiments with ingredients that we have at the house, The instructions were very easy and clear for them to read and they were even able to include my younger 6 years old. I like the fact that it have the lesson after each experiment - it makes it and educational fun game. It’s a great kit for an indoor activity spending time together or even as a gift.

Little Investigators

My kids have really enjoyed this science kit! They're very much into the Purple Cow science experiments (this is their second kit from Purple Cow). My 8 year old is able to read the instructions and complete most of the experiments with little help from an adult. My 5 year old has been able to help with the experiments as well. I like how easy everything is spelled out for each experiment. I LOVE how each experiment has a lesson after that tells why the experiment worked. The only thing I would like to see is more fingerprint papers included. Both my kids wanted to feel "official" but only one finger print page was included.

Fun Science Tricks

This kit comes with lots of cool stuff for various water science experiments together with a manual that clearly explains how to conduct the experiments. The kids were totally entertained and I definitely recommend this kit. Thank you for a great purchase!

A Big Hit!

My kids are having a blast with this kit! It is the perfect summer staple when you have to beat the heat and stay inside. My 8-year-old had no problem figuring out most of the experiments on his own...my hubby helped him with a few and they had no issues at all. Now my son doesn't stop with the questions and sharing of the activities. He has been taking them everywhere with him and showing anyone who will listen. His favorite is the piggy bank activity. He has my daughter completely baffled and excited. Now she wants her own kit!

This kit is great to encourage kids who are interested in science. It includes great tools for your child to run experiments, and good manual for to conduct them. This is GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY as you get a ton of activities for your child with just one box.

Great indoor game!

I live in Florida and sometimes it is just too hot for the kids to be running around, so I like to have a selection of indoor games and activities for hot or stormy days when the kids are better off inside, and they love this set. We actually have a couple of other Purple Cow set and love them and this is one of our favorites. I love the fact that they are entertained with an activity that does not require a computer or batteries. The kit includes different experiments that kids love. Great for playdates and indoor time!

BEST thought provoking game for kids!

My kids LOVED this. I never imagined my kids would connect to this. I thought it would be just another toy for me to clean up after... My son is now obsessed with proving that it can’t be that no 2 people have the same finger print and is on a mission. I love that this relatively simple game forced me to sit with the kids and they were so into it; they asked questions and all the sudden I saw their minds work... I’m really blown away. It’s really simple and a lot fun, but more importantly, it creates conversation and your kids will come up with their own thought provoking theories- and that’s priceless! I generally don’t get hyped and I don’t leave reviews, but I LOVED the whole experience. I can’t recommend it enough!!!

Highly recommended

The Young detective kit is great. I bought it thinking of my daughters being bored on a rainy day. Wanted them to spend some time not in front of screens. That was a very good call. It was so much fun, and the instructions were easy to follow. The kit contains different ways to see your finger print, the directions were simple, and the part that they liked the most was making a mold out of your finger and actually creating a plaster finger. I highly recommend this kit, my girls loved it.
