Hard sleepers will love this-- well, hate it, but you know.
Perfect size, doesn't 'tick', and the actual alarm is LOUD. There's no way to sleep through this thing. The alarms on my phone alarm are too soft and don't shake me awake and are too easy to snooze. This guy is not a gentle wakeup call. I keep it on the dresser so I have to get up to turn it off so between that and it being so loud, its much harder for me to get back in bed. I'm not a morning person. Once I'm up, I'm fine but I hate getting out of bed in the morning. I wish I had whatever it is that makes people jump up at the first alarm ready to take on the day. This alarm is a big help. You do have to remember to turn it on every night as there is no AM/PM setting like digital alarms, but that's not a problem for me.

Accurate, loud
So I have a form of narcolepsy called idiopathic hypersomnia that causes me to sleep ridiculous amounts during the daytime only and no matter how much sleep I have, I'm always up late at night or early morning. This is especially problematic when I work and go to school starting at 7am daily and constantly sleep through all the alarms I've ever tried... Ever. This so far, has been an absolute life saver. I've only had it for over a week but without fail, it has woken me up at the exact moment I've set it for, loudly, fearfully and alarmingly alert which is exactly what I needed. I don't know how other people have had issues with setting it for any time they desire because I set it for 6:40-6:45 and that's exactly what time it goes off. I set it across my room so I have to physically get up and stay up and I'm beyond grateful for this device as it was super affordable and so far, fail proof.

NAZGUL FELLBEAST TO FIRE ALARM WITH TAPE
If this doesn't wake you up, you should probably see a doctor because something is seriously wrong with you. It's painfully loud and sends me in a terrified panic, sheets flying, stumbling as quickly as I can to shut the thing off. In fact, I put duct tape on the inside and outside of the bells where the hammer strikes to take the shrill edge off the obnoxious sound and it still freaks me out every morning. Now it's more like a pleasant fire alarm. I used to keep it down the hall from my bedroom in an attempt to trick myself into more bodily movement before turning it off, hoping that'd make me alert enough to not slink back to my beloved, warm sheets. It worked, and yes, was still loud enough to wake me up, but it was too long an epic journey in the dark with a Nazgul Fellbeast screaming at me, it's shriek echoing off the tile in a horrific echo chamber (at 5:00 am, this doesn't feel like exaggeration). The clock itself looks classy in just about any setting (I have the black one). The one real danger this kind of alarm clock poses is that you MUST TURN IT ON EVERY NIGHT OR ELSE IT WON'T WORK. For example, my alarm is set for 5:00. That means that if the switch on the back is set to "on," it'll ring any time the clock hits 5:00 without recognizing a difference between am and pm. Thus, you can't just turn it off in the morning then back on again. You must leave the alarm turned off until 5:00 pm passes, then turn it on and you're set for the morning. In essence, some people will need set set a phone alarm to remember to set the clock alarm. Kind of silly. However, if you can make a habit out of turning on the alarm as part of your bedtime routine, this clock will be good to you. Well. . . No it won't--you'll hate it, but it'll help you overcome your snoozing habit. See my photos for my silly tape idea that makes the clock more bearable. Hopefully this review is helpful to you.

Attractive and effective... what more could you want?
I just woke up to this alarm clock for the first time and WOW is it effective. It's so loud that it not only wakes me up, but it scares the day lights out of me so that I jump out of bed too. No falling back asleep with this one around! Besides the extremely effective alarm, it is darn cute. I wanted to cut back on the digital items in my bedroom, and this is an attractive way to do so. It's built very well, so it doesn't feel cheap. The second hand is definitely silent and it's very easy to set. I highly recommend this clock!

You won't sleep through this alarm. Sometimes the old way of doing things really is better.
As someone who rarely reviews products (I know, I'm terrible) I felt compelled to review this one. I am easily the heaviest sleeper I know, and it takes an act of God and congress to wake me from a deep sleep. Before owning this alarm clock I used to utilize 4 different devices' alarm functions: An iPod Touch, my iPhone, my old Android phone, and my Macbook Air. I would regularly sleep through all of these alarms going off in unison and would arrive at my job 2 to 3 hours late at least once a week (I will be forever grateful for my boss and his tolerance of my tardiness). At the recommendation of my grandfather, I decided it was time to get an "old fashioned" alarm clock. This Peakeep Twin Bell Alarm clock has been working flawlessly at waking me up in the mornings. I still use my old entourage of devices as backup alarm clocks but I have the Peakeep set to go off about 30 seconds before the others do and I always wake up immediately and silence my other alarms before they even go off. There are lots of other alarm clocks on the market targeted at heavy sleepers that require you to solve some kind of puzzle, or shoot a target, or retrieve some kind of flying propeller to silence the alarm clock. They all have the same major flaw, they depend on you being able to actually hear the alarm and wake up first. They are all useless if you don't wake up to silence the alarm in the first place. The Peakeep Twin Bell is loud enough to wake me from a dead sleep and looks good while doing it. PROS - Loud enough to wake me from deep sleep - Very nice aesthetic - Fantastic build quality - Way less money than alarm clocks targeted at heavy sleepers CONS - Slightly difficult to get super accurate with the alarm time, but that's just me nitpicking. Overall I highly recommend this alarm clock. The price you pay for this alarm clock is nothing compared to potentially losing a job from being late to work all the time.

FINALLY!! IT WAKES MY HEAVY SLEEPER 12 YEAR OLD SON UP
Every morning i had to set my alarm to wake up my son, who would undoubtedly be sleeping through his alarm. The mornings would be rushed, our mood would turn sour and the start of our days would be spoiled. His phone alarm wasn't enough, plug in alarms, multiple alarms, and even apps with 'loud alarms' specifically for heavy sleepers weren't enough. Nothing worked. As he became addicted to 'snooze' I was reaching my breaking point--so I ordered this little gem and even paid for same day delivery. That's how bad it was. The volume of the alarm is 'old school' awesome with a hammer beating two bells without the option to stop them other than getting up and turning it off. The lack of a snooze button is a godsend and he already asked if we could get a different one. Answer: NEVERRRRR. I have one very awake 12 year old in the morning. While he might give it 1 star, I give it 5. Bravo.

WAKE UP THE DEAD.
If you are a heavy sleeper, there is nothing in the market as simple and powerful like this alarm clock. This clock will WAKE THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE! I am a seriously heavy sleeper especially after stressful days. With this alarm clock, I now actually wake up on time!!! Try not to use rechargable AA batteries as they have 1.2v, Eneloop AA battery is 1.4v when charged fully. This Alarm clock needs 1.5v to be in optimal work. I use Eneloop AA battery and its fine. It’s been 4 weeks since last charge I would suggest to charge the battery just to raise the voltage back to 1.4v for better alarm sound. These kind of alarm clocks will move while ringing and will fall from the table. The quality is very unreliable, one fall might damage the clock, so take notice.

I'm a heavy sleeper. Not the average "has a ...
I'm a heavy sleeper. Not the average "has a hard time getting out of bed" type but the type where I've been physically shaken and screamed at and not woken up. I've had firetrucks, ambulances, and police cars in my front yard and slept through it. A tree collapsed on my neighbors house and I slept through it. I sleep through my building's fire alarms. I've slept through gun shots in my backyard. Little to say, my phone's alarm just doesn't do the trick. I slept through classes for weeks at a time even though I had alarms going off for hours. And boy, can I sleep. I can and do sleep 17 hours a day when I can. Longest I've slept at one time was 23 hours and I only woke up because I was dehydrated. I spent more time asleep than I do awake (not by choice, I'm just tired all the time). This alarm scares the hell out of me every morning but it sure does get me awake. Only problem is remembering to set it every night but I'm getting used to it. Just make sure to put it where you have to get out if bed to turn it off so you don't risk falling back asleep.

Effective!
FABULOUS! I gave this to my teenager because he has failed to heed his pleasant iPhone alarm. He still sets the pleasant one, ignores it daily, and then springs out of bed to turn this one off. It's loud, but not earsplitting. It's horrid enough that it will get your heart racing and get you out of bed. We set it at the absolute latest time he can get up and not be late for school. We call it the "oh sh*t!" alarm. It's working like a dream! Highly recommend.

AT LAST AN ALARM CLOCK THAT REALLY HAS AN ALARM
Within the last few months I have bought FOUR (4) new clocks, hoping for reliable features,, and an Alarm that is LOUD enough to wake me. None of those clocks could wake me up. My roommates have told me that it would take a freight train going through my bedroom with whistle blowing to wake me up. Very Likely true. HOWEVER, THIS little alarm clock with bells on the top is Loud enough to "wake the dead!" I nearly JUMPED out of bed in surprise that that little clock was REALLY saying by it's alarm, "Get up, lazy lout or I will keep ringing until you DO.!" I got up!
