These are deck screws

I'm not sure what to say in a review of deck srews....they screw. They are much cheaper here than at Lowe's or Home Depot so buy them here. They also require a star driver (included) so that you won't strip them - and they are also easy to remove when you need to make repairs/maintain whatever it is that you are building. Which brings to mind...if you are not using these and using nails or some other fastener then you are making things REALLY difficult on the next person who has to repair your shoddy craftsmanship. Don't be a jerk, do things the right way and built things to last...but use quality hardware and think about the next guy who doesn't want to spend two days pounding out nails backwards out of the eaves of the house (and definitely don't bend the nails over making it dang near impossible to get them out).

Great screws and I have used a bunch of different brands.

I have replaced the boards on my deck and a bunch of plywood flooring in my trailer. I have used some WoodPro and a few others but I really like the Hillman brand the best. I love the star drive non strip heads and the great coating on them. Out of all the star screws I used I also noticed the Hillman fit the star bit the most snug and it really takes a lot of stress of your bits in the long run. Anyway I highly recommend them and have + will buy from again..... :)

Quality, sturdy deck screws.

Used these to replace as many of the nails as I could on our deck boards, as they keep coming lose and popping up out of the wood, which is dangerous. I pulled as many out as I could and replaced with these screws. They are very sturdy and installed without any issues with the included bit. In hindsight, I wish I had chosen a darker color, however, they still look pretty good and will blend much better once I power wash the deck. I am very happy with these and would recommend them over any other product I've tried thus far in this application.

Great Exterior Screws

The 5# box of screws arrived 1 day earlier than expected. There is an included star bit but I did not use this bit as it is too short. Compared to a phillips head, the star bit head on the screws allows for better and more secure bit engagement. The 5# box of screws was at least 30% less than local store of identical product. Definately recommended!!

Star drive head is the ONLY way to fly!

If you haven't tried star drive screws, you are in for a great revelation. Instead of bouncing your drill bit off phillips heads, you will find that the star drive screws are bulletproof. Can be removed and reused multiple times, even in the longer lengths, so they will hold a rafter or cement form in place, and then come right out afterwards if needed.

Used for our deck and worked great

We replaced just the decking on our deck as the boards were getting weak. The supporting timber underneath did not need replacing so we just used these longer screws to get a good grip in the old boards and they worked great. We could not get a 5 pound box of screws locally, only 2 pound so it would have been way more expensive.

They will outlast me

My shed has a 10 foot ramp, climbing about 18 inches. the ramp allows me to keep my ride-on mower in the shed. These were used to screw the horizontal PT lumber onto the support beams. I did drill pilot holes for the screws such that fitting the screws was simple and reliable.

Heavier gauge

These are great fasteners, used them on 2x6 fir decking and they are a heavier gauge screw than what I was able to get from the big home improvement stores and cost less as well.

Wood screws best option, Period.

The days of Phillips head are gone in my house. I use these for every application that requires ‘wood’ type screws. From a duck blind to building a shed. The Torx head does not strip. The steel is very strong and the promise paint is a great guard against rust.

Great price for the quantity. Great product.

What a deal this is!! Same brand and same screw is much more expensive at Lowe’s. Great price for the quantity. No different than what you would buy at Lowe’s, just a whole lot cheaper.
