This is a very nice little hand drill. I've been using mine for micro scale model kits, and -- yes! --have used the tiniest bits it comes with. It's easy to use, and the chuck is smooth, secure, and straight. This is a solid tool that I expect years of use from, and I wish I'd bought one sooner. NOTE: Based on some of the negative reviews, there must be a few lemons out there, or various products being sold under this same listing. I've had both happen to me with other products in my years as an Amazon shopper. The good news is that either way, the odds appear to be quite strongly in your favor. If I lost mine, I would not hesitate to order again immediately.

This worked perfectly for my purpose, which was drilling miniatures for pinning. It came with a good variety of bits (some of which are so small I'm terrified I'm going to lose them...), including one that's the perfect size for some paper clips I have, and one that is the right size for some staples I also use. Tip: Get a small piece of magnetic tape to put in the bottom of whatever you use to store these, that way they at least have a chance of staying in the container. I know some other people had issues with units that wouldn't hold the bit straight, luckily mine does not seem to have that issue. I agree that the spring-loaded collet is kind of an odd design choice, and I can see how it might cause some quality issues in some units, but for mine at least, it works perfectly well to hold the bit straight.

This drill worked great for my small projects. I used it mostly on pressed PVC foam board and baked polymer clay, so they were relatively soft surfaces. I don't know how it would perform against harder surfaces, but if you're looking for something to make very small holes... this does it.

The three sides hold the drill bits. I have many vises and this one is the only one that holds the small sized ones

Received this tool in good order. The collet was the proper size and in the correct alignment (see pictures). The drill unit seems well built and holds the bits straight (see pictures). I can't speak to the quality of the bits, but I'll will report after used it for awhile.

First this products ships from overseas. It was suppose to take about a month before I received it, but it arrived probably about a week to a week in a half after I purchased it. I wanted it primarily to drill holes in tiny sea shells my daughter picked up at the beach. So far so good. Nice manual drill for intricate projects.

I was tired of switching collets and crooked drills but didn't want to spend too much so I got this. This is way better than the silver pin vise with two double ended collets that I have been using for years. Very comfortable to use and grips the bits real good and straight.

I had one of these for a long time. It was made with a large wooden ball on top so it would not be hard on the palm of your hand. But this one has done a good job of enlarging holes on a model railroad locomotive for hand rails and such. Comes with various size drill bits that are good and sharp I am very happy with this purchase.

Dont take me wrong here, I 100% think you should support your local brick and mortar hobby stores. But I spent about 20$ on a pin vise drill at my local store, and altho I will say the overall fit and finish seems a bit nicer in hand, the jaws are less useful and it didnt even come with any drills to use! and the ones I tried to buy for it didnt even fit (until I found out your supposed to completely disassemble the tool and flip the jaws around 180 then reassemble it) This caused me lots of heartache when trying to drill some simple holes for magnets in my miniatures. This tool is practically just as nice, but 100x more useful since it will hold any size of drill without needing to fiddle around with its insides, and the fact it actually COMES with the drills makes it even better for a fraction of the cost.

I got two of these, and so far I am very pleased. They feel good in the hand and have a 3 jaw chuck, so you don't have to bother with swapping out collets. It also holds the very fine drills bits much more snug than the collet vises I have.
