Out of the box it seems really solid. Fast focus and zoom. As clear as $55 optics can be. Actually they seem a lot more clear than $55 optics. I sat it on my dining room table in an unlit room. Looked through 3 panes of window glass out to about 200 yards at my neighbors kid's swing set. I could easily and clearly see the fasteners holding it together. Plenty bright. Looking at birds or counting bullet holes in paper targets will not be a problem. Contrary to other comments, the tripod is fine. At least the one I got. Not fancy but stable. It will sit on your gun bench without complaint. You will find the tripod in a clever and padded side compartment inside the scopes storage bag. There are two elastic loops that hold it to make sure it does not contact the scope. I like the lens caps, especially the screw on rear cap that covers the entire eye piece. Will it take a drop from 5 feet? Dunno, but probably better than me. For the price it's a very good buy. Wasn't sure if i wanted the 45 or 0 degree eyepiece (which they sell). I ordered the 45. After sitting at a table and looking through it the 45 is very comfy. A straight eye piece would require stooping down in the chair to look through. You could sit at a bench and zero rifles all day long and never get up if you wished. The case is soft sided an zippered with a carry handle. It's adequate and appropriate for this scope.

I don't understand all of the negative reviews unless they received a defective unit, or they had unreasonable expectations for an inexpensive spotting scope. After receiving this, I tested it in my neighborhood and was impressed that I could read the writing on a neighbor's satellite dish. The next day at the range, I was VERY easily able to see all of my 5.56 round holes in a paper target at 100 yards. I cannot speak about any farther as 100 yards is all I need for my rifle (which is good for a precision head shot at 100 yards, but not a lot farther). The focus was sharp and plenty magnified at 60X. I guess some think a $60 should see at 1000 yards, but if you buy this with reasonable expectations, you should not be disappointed.

For this order, I had a range trip come up sooner than expected, and needed to sight in several rifles at 100 yards. While that normally isn't an issue, sighting in several at a time, then walking down range, coming back, making adjustments, and then firing again repeatedly wasn't practical. So firing and making corrections for each rifle without much time in between was a must. The clarity is amazing. Even .22 (.224) caliber holes show up super clearly at 100 yards, and I am confident could show up very well at further distances. The tripod isn't stellar, but plenty good and solid for any normal application. The angle of the eye piece means you'll need to stand up or adjust yourself to look through if you're firing from prone or bench, but that's no real problem. The unit comes with easy on/off caps to protect the lenses and an extendable sun shade which I found very helpful. One of the photos is a 1/4 scale steel target at 100 yards on 20x magnification, which is only 1/3 of its potential. The target is "wearing" an old metal construction hat. I may not have sought out the sunshade, but now I won't own one without it. This lightweight, inexpensive, yet high quality spotting scope will last me a long time, and I highly recommend it. It now has a permanent place in my vehicle for my constant range trips, and I wouldn't be surprised if it came out for other applications such as hunting and sight seeing in the future. Only thing I can't comment on is its water resistance. It has not been submerged or rained on at this time.

Clear focus, long range, fair price.. I can very clearly see holes in my targets at 200 yards. Haven't checked this on a longer range but I can see equivalent size details and defects on the side of a church steeple that I estimate is about 350 yards away. The only tradeoff for the price of this scope is shifted tinting of objects at high magnification. So maybe this scope is not best for long-range bird watching -- but great value for shooters.

I have tried several units with the same specs as this model and price. They have all been a dis-appointment. I read the reviews and decided to give this one a shot. When it arrived, the first test was to see if I could view my bullet impacts at 50 yds at 60x magnification. PASSED!!! All the other units were distorted at 60x. I was finally pleased to know I found my spotting scope that I could actually see my POI on 60x CLEARLY!! Now if they only had packaged this with a telescoping tri-pod would be 6 stars.

This scope was purchased on a lightning deal to see how well it worked for 4H shooting sports. This scope has a great picture quality for the price. The variable power is clear at all settings when spotting .22 rounds at the range. Range yardage is 25yards and 50yards and this scope fits the purpose with ease or setting up as well as the ease of spotting with the angled eye piece. We had tried a different scope with a straight eye piece, but it was a strain to be comfortable when spotting after shots. Pros: -This scope is a fraction of the cost of some of the other big name brands. -Adjustable magnification is clear, no halo effects, or blurring when in focus. -The stand that is included is metal and works for table spotting or has enough adjustment for spotting from positions on the ground. - So far it has proven to be durable and well made. - The carrying bag is ok so far, but shoulder strap is a bit thin. Cons: - It doesn't come with a "quick" mount, but the screw mount stays tight, just take a bit longer to set up. - Carry bag shoulder strap is a bit thin, which doesn't bother as much since it's carried mostly in cargo box to and from the range, but could be an issue for someone that is carrying the scope through the woods. -

Rarely if ever do reviews but this product is definitely worth the price and absolutely what I was looking for. Pic is approx 40yds away and looks like 3" away. Absolutely great product!!!

I ranged a house across a lake at 780 yards. With this spotting scope I could easily see the expressions on the faces of a boy and girl that were sitting next to each other. Also an adult male was doing yard work at the house next door (similar distance) and I could read the words on his shirt. .224 sized bullet holes could be viewed at 150 yards on normal paper targets. We did not shoot longer than 150 yards that day. I would assume with splatter targets you could view the holes at a lot further distance. I mostly shoot at steel targets. I have not tried it yet, but I sincerely do not think seeing hits on steel at 1000 yards will be an issue. Attached is a pic I took of the moon through this spotting scope. I took the picture on my 4 1/2 year old Droid phone without it mounted securely to the scope. I just held it by hand, which was almost impossible to hold it still enough. Even though the picture is mostly clear, it was noticeably more clear looking at the moon with your naked eye through the scope and not the phone picture. Edit: I just read through some of the comments on this spotting scope and it's really blowing my mind. I never used the tripod that came with the scope so maybe that is the difference... but when people are saying this is only a 100 or 200 yard spotting scope is really surprising me. I could read the numbers on mailboxes 400 yards away no problem (I didn't try longer). I could read that guy's shirt at almost 800 yards. I'll try to remember the next time I go to the 500 yard range to shoot my 30-06 and see if I can see the holes in normal paper or if I would need splatter targets. The results wouldn't surprise me either way. This is a pretty dang good spotting scope. Also there were a few questions and comments about the fact that the eyepiece doesn't rotate. Just plan on buying a decent tripod and that will also not be a problem. The mounting base of tripods will angle towards you, which is what I do. I share a tripod between this scope and my chronograph when I'm using it. The only feature that would make this spotting scope better is if it had a Milliradian reticle that was first focal plane. But that's what I like, not 90% of other people. :)

I've been looking for a spotting scope for awhile now for when I try to zero in one of my rifles at 100yrds. However, I didn't want to spend $400-$500 for one. Found this scope, read the positive reviews, ordered it for shooting this weekend, and took it out for its first use today. Very happy with the results. Comes with a nice little carry case, and tripod. Seems built well, light weight, and did exactly what I needed it to do dialing in the scope today. For the money I'm very happy, and it'll be nice to have in the future. I used it at 100 yards on the 40x mostly. At 60x it was still very clear and easy to read, the issue became more of it would zoom in so much, that I would easily bump the tripod and lose my target. Whereas at 40x it was zoomed out enough to see a bigger overall picture, while still being able to see where I was hitting the target.

My wife expressed a desired for a spotting scope to use from the balcony of our high rise we live in which provides a lovely vista with plenty of interesting viewing opportunities. The binoculars we own are high quality but does not offer near enough magnification. A friend of ours loaned us a $600 Celestron scope and we loved it, but we wanted something smaller and more portable. This Emarth offers similar magnification levels to our friend’s scope and represents a fantastic value. We have compared the two scopes and while the Emarth image appears somewhat foggier then the Celestron when at the highest magnifications, we are very pleased with how close it comes to image quality of the larger and more expensive scope. The Emarth scope seems quite durable in quality as well. The included tripod is usable but seems of limited value for us. It does not offer the tilt we would like, so we will make an investment in a floor standing tripod which offers more types of movements. That will make this scope much easier to use for us. In summary, we are very happy with this package. If you don’t need the highest quality optics, this represents a fantastic value.
