A great countertop dishwasher for anyone without a built-in.
I've owned this dishwasher for more than a year now (I purchased it in August 2016), and I love it. It fits on my counter and works like a champ. I run it a couple times a week. It does a fantastic job on everyday loads, and the party setting is nice when you've got a bunch of glassware from a get-together to wash. The silverware basket is removable, which is nice for loads where you're just washing bowls and plates and mugs/glassware. A few caveats for prospective buyers: 1) This thing is heavy. I managed to wrestle it through the house and back into my kitchen, but you might want to get a friend if you're not in the habit of moving heavy objects. 2) MEASURE THE LOCATION you want to use for the dishwasher. It's heavy, yes, but it's also deceptively big. Make sure you've got the space to put this chunky little chub before buying. 3) Dishwasher pods work great, but use Finish or another rinse agent in conjunction with them. I found they're a lot easier and reliable than the in-door powder dispenser, which can sometimes get stuck if the silverware basket is full and a stray fork or knife blocks the little door from popping open. I've used both Finish pods and store-brand (Kroger) pods with equal success. This model has an indicator that lets you know when you're running low on rinsing agent, too, which is nice. 4) Make sure you clean the little basket at the bottom after every few loads, especially if you're not a pre-rinse fanatic. 5) I recommend opening the door to let the dishes dry more effectively and empty it as soon as the dishes are dry. Overall, I would recommend this dishwasher to anyone who needs a dishwasher for one or two people, doesn't have a built-in, and has the space available near their sink.

Yes, it's worth it.
Completely meets my expectations. First off! As everyone else has said, it's really huge and heavy! Don't be like me and just eye the pictures of it and go “eh that looks like it'd fit.” Instead look at the dimensions ans make sure it'll fit in the spot you want. It cleans well, but occasionally I'll get something that needs to be rewashed. The cup rack is really small, I've noticed. You would need to have miniature cups to even use it. Maybe if you had miniature hands and miniature cups, I could understand using it. Look at the photo. It's tiny and virtually unusable. This thing is way better than having to handwash dishes. If you're wondering if the cost of this outweighs having to handwash dishes, then yes. It's totally worth it and that's why I'm giving it 5/5.

Excellent purchase.
Excellent Purchase! The shipper somehow damaged the first one we received. Amazon promptly sent a return authorization label, ordered a replacement for us, and had the shipper pick up the damaged unit the next day. The replacement was here within a week. The washer is an excellent size for us and runs quietly. It is easy to hook up initially and a breeze to operate. Note: I bought an adapter for the faucet. That is not necessary. A dual thread, 15/16" adapter, which fits most faucets, is supplied with the unit.

It's small but it exceeded my expectations!
I was dubious at best. I have worked residential construction most of my life and know that there is a big difference between a good dishwasher and a bad one. I also know that difference is not always based on "brand" or "price", it is based on how well it was designed. The first thing I noticed when I got the box was that it was really light, usually not a sign of "quality" in my book. I did notice though that it was very well packed. Double boxed with a lot of foam. I pulled it out of the box and set it on the counter for my first real look. 1. Finish looked pretty good, the door was a little off from being straight, but in reality it was less than a 16th of an inch off. As a finish carpenter we get a little too picky sometimes. 2. Opening the door I saw there was a good amount of tape and reinforcement to hold everything in place while shipping, nice! 3. Set-up was probably the easiest for an appliance I have ever done. There is a nice sink faucet adapter that replaces your sink screen that should easily fit most newer faucets. (This is the only real flaw I see in the whole machine) The adapter that the hoses hook to replaces the screen on your faucet and just leaves a hole about 1/4" for the water to come out when not using the dishwasher. Well you know what happens when you restrict your garden hose down to a small size. That's right the pressure goes way high. The first time I turned on the water to wash something by hand the water hit the bottom of the sink and rebounded from the sink bottom and sprayed a good deal of the surrounding area. I am not sure how this can be fixed short of changing out the adapter every time and replacing the screen. But that would be a pain. Just use a little caution the first few uses. 3. The hoses both connect to the sink using a fitting not unlike a typical "shop air tool quick release fitting. The hoses have very different threaded ends on the appliance end making it vitually impossible to mix them up. 4. Plug in the power cord and you are installed. The instructions call for a dish detergent as well as a liquid water drop residue remover. For the first run I thought I might as well give it a good run for it's money. I packed it with glasses some with dried milk in the bottom, plastic containers used for spaghetti sauce, a Pyrex dish that had been used for lasagna and a handful of silverware. I had only barely scraped the containers and Pyrex the night before so there was a fair amount of dried food on them. I picked the heavy duty setting to be fair and waited. When I opened the door I will have to say I was no less than astonished! Everything was spotless. The wine glasses were well, spotless and totally dry. The milk glasses, the same. I pulled out the Pyrex last knowing that was the big test. TOTALLY CLEAN! I have owned some really high end washers in my life and this washer despite its diminutive size produces right up there with them. REALITY: 1. It is very small. I would say 5 place settings and a few serving utensils about max it out. 2. I have had a few things come out with a small amount of dried food on them, but I rarely pre-rinse. 3. My hot water heater is set pretty high so the water coming in is already very hot. Does this make difference, I don't have any idea. 4. I always run the hot tap water before hooking up the machine so I know it starts with good hot water. 5. When not in use the 5' of double hose need a home, and be sure to drain the water out of the hoses into the sink after letting off the pressure with the little button because there will be more and it will end up soaking your countertop. Conclusion: A great machine! I would buy it again. I would recommend it to anyone. I am actually going to be installing mine permanently into the wall which I can already see is going to be a chore. From what I can tell none of the fittings on the hoses are standard size and thread, so Mr. Creative is going to have to go to work. I called the factory and they won't even discuss the possibility of permanent mounting so no help there, but it's not supposed to be permanently mounted so I can see their point. If you are short on space and tired of washing dishes by hand, this is the washer for you.

Nice dishwasher. It... cleans the dishes!
Nice dishwasher with a modern look. It's reasonably quiet (makes a somewhat relaxing water sloshing sound as it washes), seems well built and gets dishes clean. Not sure what more you'd expect from a dishwasher, it doesn't do the groceries nor the laundry but it does make one household chore easier. Just like other countertop dishwashers, it has a limited space for larger items but gets dishes as clean as a full size unit would. If you're trying to hook up this unit on a semi-permanent basis (and free your kitchen tap while running the dishwasher and/or avoid having to always disconnect/reconnect the dishwasher to the tap), this can be done by buying a 3/8"x3/8"x3/8" compression tee fitting and a universal dishwasher connection kit (got both from the local hardware store). You'll want to make sure to get a kit that has a 3/4" garden hose adapter (aka GHT or FGH, respectively garden hose thread and female garden hose). Since some people mentioned leaks, I put in some teflon tape (aka thread seal tape or plumber's tape) on the dishwasher's water intake (the yellow plug) and haven't seen any water leak anywhere. Not sure if that was needed, but better safe than sorry. I haven't hooked the drain hose and just put it in the sink, but I'm sure it can be hooked up as well (other reviewers have managed to do it).

Little powerhouse that gets your dishes squeaky clean!
Our full size (24") portable dishwasher we purchased 6 years ago died on us after going downhill for a few years now. We changed its control panel, cleaned it as best we could, but nothing improved its performance which honestly was never that great. We payed $700 for it brand new. We noticed the technology with the countertop dishwashers surpassed what we were use to in a full size so we decided to give one a try. This machine is amazing and for almost 1/3 less than our last one! We have to be vigilant on doing the dishes a little sooner due to it's capacity, but who cares. We are so happy to have a machine that gets our dishes squeaky clean and doesn't make us have to rewash our glasses in the sink. It is a bit heavier and bulkier than we would have thought. We have it sitting on our old machine until we build an island for it. Well worth every penny!

Rinse-Aid + Mini-Party Setting
Just the right size for a single person or a couple and takes up much less space than a conventional dishwasher. Frankly in our house we barely run this everyday. A full size washer would take a week to fill and by then the food would be dried and caked on. This leads to still dirty dishes after the machine has run. I know this from experience in my childhood house. Unlike my parents dishwasher this little guy does seem to need rinse-aid. I had never used it before but I kept getting spots in this dishwasher. Little rinse-aid combined with not filling the detergent cup all the way took the spots down to nothing. I do use powder in this puppy since it takes so little detergent that I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to break tablets small enough for the load size accurately. Barely noticed the small spike in the energy bill and it also uses very little water on the "mini-party" setting we set it on. If you run it nearly everyday that setting will probably do you just fine. There is also a "normal" use setting but that has been overkill for us. The only strange thing is some people say the timer is inaccurate and I think I know part of why this is. If you run it with hot water from the tap the timer is almost right. If you run it with cold tap water then it takes a very long time for it to heat the water but the timer doesn't account for this. The accuracy of the timer makes very little difference to me personally. Hence no loss of star. Since I have an electric hot water heater and half the time I'm showering while it runs I just run it on cold and let it go longer. The hot water is going to be heated by electricity either way. Not sure one way is really anymore cost effective than the other. If you have a gas hot water heater then you will probably want to use hot water from the tap to save you money. I did get this as a warehouse deal which was perfect. I saved some money and still had the option to return it. But it had one scratch on the side I don't see and it worked perfectly. So you would have to pry it from my dead hands. If you buy it new you may want to shop around, particularly at the bulk stores, they will probably have this for a lower price new. When its stock.

Fantastic little machine.
I read the reviews of their basic model and was impressed, but I opted to go with this model because of the LED screen. I'm very happy I made that decision as it displays the remaining time left in the cycle (vs the basic model which doesn't have a display.) My wife thinks it's ridiculous because of how small the inside is, but honestly for two people it's totally sufficient. We have an infant as well and I just run a load each night when we go to bed and put them away in the morning. I absolutely love it. I do want to point out that I first used the Seventh Generation powder detergent with no Rinse Aid and was very disappointed when it finished. There was residue everywhere and powder sludge in the cup and on dishes. This was my mistake. I decided to buy Finish brand liquid detergent and Finish brand rinse aid. What a difference! Night and day absolutely. It would appear that a rinse aid is mandatory with this little guy.

So far, so good! :-)
The box was delivered by FedEx on the very edge of my front porch, without them knocking - but I got it inside. The washer is ENORMOUS. I'd measured carefully and was still shocked by how large it was. Everyone who has seen it has commented on the size - it's actually larger than our very large, old microwave. It is also extremely heavy. The package comes marked as being a two-person lift, and for good reason. But I did manage to get it onto the counter alone - barely. The problem isn't just the weight, it's also the bulk. At 5'0" I could barely fit my arms around it far enough to get a grip on it. Someone who is frail, elderly, disabled or has any history of back issues definitely needs to arrange for help, even to unbox it. Set up is easy, just connect the two hoses to the rear of the machine and attach the locking nozzle onto the sink fixture. The hoses don't require any tools to attach, and I was able to connect the nozzle onto the sink without needing any, either. Everything fit properly right away, with no leaks. Even though the instructions imply that powdered detergent is preferred, I used Cascade Complete liquid in the washer because it worked well with my previous washer and it cleaned the dishes beautifully without additional rinse aid. The machine is quieter than the full-size dishwashers we have owned. Even with the huge size of the outside, the interior is rather small - largish coffee mugs have to be put on the floor of the basket, rather than in the designated mug area, which is sized for very small cups such as old-fashioned teacups. I suspect that was not the best design choice. However, it doesn't take that much effort to just wash an additional load of mugs, so it's not a problem, really. One feature I appreciate is that the wash water is filtered and reused repeatedly during the wash, so the machine is only drawing a minimum of water from the tap. This is important in our house, where the amount of hot water is limited, as it allows someone to have hot water to shower even when the machine is running. And it may sound odd, but I LOVE the buttons on this thing. Many of the models I had researched had the little plastic covered bubbles rather than actual buttons, and I hate those because the bubble's plastic invariably wears away with use and one is left with pushing bare plastic. This machine has actual buttons which are very solid and responsive, and I don't expect any issues from them. There is one thing that is odd. The machine's running times as shown on the readout are accurate, but they are much, much longer than the running times listed in the manual. According to the manual, for example, a load on normal wash should take 110 minutes of running time. However, when the cycle is actually selected, the machine reports that it will require 150 minutes to complete. This isn't a big deal for me, but it does make it a bit difficult when trying to time starting a load before bedtime, for example. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase so far. If my opinion changes, I will update this review to reflect the new information, but at this point the machine is so solid I don't expect any problems whatsoever.

and it's doing great. I use it a couple times a week
I've had this for almost 6 months now, and it's doing great. I use it a couple times a week, and it's been really handy. That said, it probably doesn't save me a lot of time, as the dishes that go into it are mostly-clean already. I'm pretty good about rinsing dishes thoroughly, because I don't want to deal with cleaning the trap in this thing. It ties up the sink while it's running, which is kind of annoying. Clearing out the lines after it's done is an art form; this is the other reason I don't put much "hard work" into the dishwasher. But, overall, I'm a big fan.
