What a terrific way to convert and share memories with today's technology. I am able to eliminate all those bulky VHS tapes (and I have A LOT) and burn those memories onto just a few thin DVDs. I had never looked into this ability before and was surprised by how many choices there are. There are more expensive versions, but I opted for this product. It arrived within 2 days as promised and contained EVERYTHING I needed (except the VCR, of course). Easy plug & play installation. I was set up within minutes. Everything was perfect except I could not record any audio. After spending an evening trying everything, including a fresh install, I sent an email to the company. Within 1 hour, the owner contacted me back to assist with tech support. Crazy right? The owner! Keith was very patient and helpful and was able to assist me with my issue. Talk about customer service! So yeah, I selected the right product at the right price. And by the way, you can also convert ANY old VHS movie you bought years ago (although it probably is considered piracy and so, you didn’t hear it from me.) The software basically turns into a TV and so, whatever you play on the VCR, the software records and you own it. So, if the technology involved in converting your VHS tapes intimates you, this is the product to purchase. You have full support only moments away!

Still working on making DVD's that will play on DVRs, so far they will only play on PC.

Very easy to use. It plays the video on your computer and records the tape minute for minute so you have to be around to end the recording when the tape finishes. I turned 15 old family VHS tapes into digital using this adapter then used a free trial of Sony Movie Studio 13 to edit the videos and burned them to DVD's.

Works as intended. I an impressed. The program is easy to use. Of course, a faster CPU will produce better results. My CPU is an AMD 1.48 ghz with 4 gigs of ram. One should have a faster CPU to produce excellent results. Only part of the program will work for me. I will use it again, when I get a faster computer. On the whole, I am extremely pleased. (old home movies on VHS!)

It took me almost an entire weekend to figure it out, but once I did, it was great. I must say the directions booklet that came with this product lacked a few details as far as step by step instructions, especially for someone like me who is not computer savvy. After finally going on YouTube, a few details were cleared up for me and I was able to record all of my old family VHS tapes to DVD. Very relieved now that I no longer have to worry about these tapes deteriorating over time. It was worth the time and the $30 spent on the product.

I'm always leery of products like this when I read such disparate reviews. But I bought it anyway. I have some old movies on VHS that I want to bring over to MP4 and DVD. The install was very easy. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!! 0. DON'T INSTALL THE USB YET!! 1. Install the driver. DON'T REBOOT YET 2. Install the software. REBOOT WHEN DONE. DON'T RUN IT YET! 3. Plug in the USB (I had it in a USB 3.0 port) 4. Run the software as administrator (or it won't work right I found out) 5. Do the configuration as shown in the booklet I plugged my VCR into the video/audio connections and fired it up. It worked great! The quality of the video is good considering the VHS I was copying isn't the newest. Audio was great. I have quite a number of VHS tapes I'm going to move to electronic format. This seems to be the thing to do the trick. I'd certainly recommend it. Hooked up

Very simple. I followed all of the instructions, installed the software and cables up to the VCR, and it worked right out of the box. Easy to use and does a great job capturing video.

Works as advertised, and the software allows you to cut out bad portions of the recorded video. There is also a feature that will stop recording after a configurable number of hours, nice if you don’t plan on sitting and watching it record.

This device did not work right out of the box, so my husband sent them an email. They replied right away and whatever they told him to do or sent him worked. It is working great now- we are transferring several old VHS tapes to DVD. Sure beats the hundred's of dollars those companies want to transfer them for you!

Love it. Works great with Window 8.1. Successfully transferred my old tapes. Very easy to set up and use.
