Decent amount of pigment.
The pigment load is really decent for the price. The individual pastels are fairly small, but this is a great starter set, I'd even say a step-up from the usual "student grade" supplies. I'd much rather have the softer hand-rolled pastels, but these were much more affordable. I'm a studio art major, but I use these for crafts and doll face-ups and they work pretty well.

Best you can find that are inexpensive.
If you experience any defect for any reason but your own, Amazon has a policy that guarantees a full refund or replacement, whether you are a Prime member or not. Simply go to your order (your profile, orders section, click on the individual order's link) and report a problem. Most of the bad reviews on here are the fault of the packing/shipping company and do not reflect the actual product. My experience with these is flawless, and I do HIGHLY recommend them if you need a quality cheap set. Anything better than these will run you quite a pretty penny in comparison.

Great for beginners
This is my second set. I got the first set for my husband to learn to draw with. He loved doing it and was not intimidated by the dust and mess. I decided to get a set to try myself. I found them to be easier to apply than oil pastels. The colors were just as vibrant and these soft pastels hold their shape without much waste from crumbs. I like how well they blend with a tissue, my fingers and with a trillion. I will get this brand for anyone wanting to experiment with pastels.

My favorite chalk pastels!
These chalk pastels are small, but that’s why they’re so great! The dust they leave behind is minimal compared to other brands I’ve tried, too. They look like they won’t last long, but that’s where you’re wrong. These will last a while. And THE COLORS!! So many to choose from! I’ll definitely purchase these again! Update: I used these pastels for details in a piece I did on a door. You can really see the difference between the sidewalk chalk and these lovely pastels! They’re buttery soft and vibrant!

I love this product SO much!
Though this product only had one review, it was so thorough and positive that we ended up buying 4 sets of this product! I am not at all disappointed! The colors are vibrant. We also have a set of Master's Touch full size soft pastels to compare. While the Mungyo's are very small, the color lays down very well. It seemed like I was using so much more of the MT product, pushing harder to lay down the color evenly. And, the chalk was everywhere! The Mungyo soft pastels had no such problem. There was much less effort, waste, and mess. Most importantly, the projects are turning out much better with the Mungyo soft pastels. Like I said, these are SMALL. But, the variety of colors is very helpful, there is less waste/mess, and they aren't breaking or crumbling at all. Highly likely to buy several more of these to give one set each to our kids for Christmas this year. Cannot believe how much I love these! Super impressed!

These hold their own alongside Polychromos pencils.
- These intense colors hold their own alongside Polychromos pencils in their intensity and texture. - These come in the most intelligently designed box I have seen for an art medium. The pastels are set up on edge so you can reach right in and grab a color with one hand. All other mediums are packed so tight that it takes two hands to get them out of the box. Do not throw out the cardboard box sleeve or foam and velum liner. I would not be afraid to carry these in my backpack. - Only downside is there is not a light blue for the sky but I found it easy to layer the blue and white and then smudge it to get the shade I need. That being said ... - Since the colors are so intense I will still be using the light blue and others from my cheap "learner" Daler and Rowney set from Wal-Mart. The difference is like that between Polychromos and Crayola pencils. Though I have so much control with the Ploychromos, I have no need of lighter Crayola pencils. Though I do with Prismacolors. They all have their place.

Superb Pastels!
Just learned how to apply soft pastels to my adult coloring books for backgrounds and through this process have saved numerous colored pencils from a premature death. This set from Mungyo was perfect for me, great selection of colors and the vibrancy of the pastels on paper is very, very good. Even though the pastels are only about an inch in length I'm finding that due to the amount of pigment in each stick these are going to last me for a very long time. Great packaging insured this set arrived with not one pastel stick cracked or chipped. For the price of this set of pastels I wasn't expecting much but I am very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this product. Will definitely be buying more of these sometime in the future. I paid for these pastels with my own money with no discount from the manufacturer, this is my honest opinion of a superb product.

Excellent Product
I probably shouldn't be reviewing this item, as I'm in no way an artist and certainly can't compare these pastels to any others. Having said that, maybe my input may help another novice in the art world. The reason for my order of the chalk is to shade the images on my decoupage crafts. I tried using acrylics, but had a difficult time due to various issues. This product was inexpensive compared to others and the reviews were good. The fact that the set contains 64 colors was another factor. I'm experimenting and learning the best way to blend/shade for my purposes. I tried the pastels on one of my newly decoupaged projects and I'm very happy with the results. I was even able to blend two colors to produce exactly the shade needed and really impressed myself! highly recommended
Perfect for adding a nice finished touch to your works of art, or to coloring book pages with a lot of white in the background. To view some finished pictures without pastels in the background still look unfinished or as though something is missing, but add a nice complementary color, or maybe clouds, fluffy and blue, or make the picture into a night sky, or a sunset and it just pops, great product at a great price.

Fine
I am a pastel artist and I use a lot of different brands out of economic need. These are wonderful, really. Chalky--so watch out but thats a good thing in my book. They are excellent for the price and color assortment. I will reorder. Of course, everyone wants Sennelier or hand rolled but these are just wonderful. I am glad I tried them, You should too.
