So far, I'm very impressed with this product! It really works and is even more effortless than I thought. You literally just add water, nutrients and let it go! It hasn't lost any water and I've only had to add nutrients once (remember to shake the bottle). I'm going on 15 days and I already have dill I can use and about 10 leafs on the basil plant! The parsley is just now starting to come up, but it takes a little longer to germinate. Having grown herbs from seed the usual way, I'm absolutely amazed at how fast they grow in this contraption! I bought this because it was on sale and it was the end of the gardening season here and I was curious about hydroponics. It's worked so extremely well, that I'm contemplating buying a bigger model. I really love eating what I've grown and this makes that possible year round! Highly recommend this product!

Have grown tomatoes and basil and they both took off like wild fire! The basil is making huge leaves right now that we are harvesting almost daily. The basil is growing much faster than the tomatoes -they took several weeks to sprout and a few more to start a real stalk. I got easily 50-75 tomatoes off the plant before it ran its course. It was about 2 months before we got our first edible tomato but after that they just kept coming!

I enjoy cooking, but living in the midwest it's often hard to grow herbs year round. Looking into several of the hydroponic herb gardens and grow-light setups out there, AeroGarden seemed like the best choice, both because of the amount of time the company has been around, as well as a lack of reliance on gimmicks (e.g. some of the startup companies promoting "nanotech soils" or wifi connectivity; I don't need nanotech or an app to grow kitchen herbs!). The Sprout LED was easy to set up with clear directions, and although I wasn't thrilled with the herbs it comes with (basil, dill, parsley), the dill and basil begin growing rapidly (4 weeks in my basil plant is gigantic). The parsley failed to sprout, but when I called customer service they were extremely courteous and immediately sent me a replacement pod of my choice (thyme). Looking at the company's website (google for aerogarden and you'll find it), they also sell custom kits where you can choose from combinations of about 20 different herbs for $9-12. Pros: -Easy to use, easy to set up, no unnecessary gimmicks -Plants grew extremely fast -Automatic timer for lights and nutrient addition -Pump is pretty quiet (peaceful bubbling sound) -Great customer service -Grow light is mostly white, unlike the purple of other systems. -Great selection of herbs on manufacturer's website Cons: -The only way to set the on/off timer is to unplug/replug the system at the time you want it to turn on, so if you want it going from 5 am to 9 pm, you need to wake up at 5 am one morning.

I am so happy when I snagged this on the Black Friday half off sale. I have only had it for a month now but my herbs, especially my dill, has been growing like wild fire. The basil was what I was most excited about and the leaves are big and green and super tasty. I will update when the plants grow taller but so far it is easy to use and I like the fact the light is so bright, its like having another lamp in my living room.

It did take the parsley a LONG time to start sprouting, but the plant is growing beautifully. Yes the pipe gets clogged, so you will have to give it maintenance... like you would anything involving pumping. Clogging is nothing to rate down about the product. I roots may get in there too, just gently pull them out. Overall I simply love having fresh herbs to cut for dinner. I also use it to help my other plants grow or sprout indoors. ;) sneaky sneaky.

I am delighted with this. Living in the desert makes outdoor gardening difficult so this little thing brightens my day. I can't wait to try lettuce in this. Pros: - Constant fresh herbs, I cannot cook enough things with basil/dill/parsley to get through my fridge stock from pruning. - Easy to set up/use/clean - I need to prune almost every day in order to keep them under the lights. Fussing with it gives me a few moments of zen. Cons: - Wish it would have come with instructions for cleaning the air pump (they have a good guide on the website) - It isn't quiet. I keep it in the same room as the fish tank so it's not an issue, but I can see how it might irritate other people - Now I want another one for lettuce and a third for the salsa kit. Then I might need extra for flowers and cherry tomatoes. They're too much fun which means I'm going to end up buying too many

I have had an aerogarden for years now and I wanted to get one for my desk at work. Let me tell you that this is exactly what I was looking for. It is compact enough to fit on a desk or small space and it has a light source built in so it doesn't need any natural light. The entire thing is automated too so all you have to do is plug this in and it will do its thing. You do have to keep the water topped off though and don't forget to add the nutrients every two weeks. I would also like to add that the air pump on my first sprout went about 9 months after I bought it but I think that is a fluke as I have 2 other gardens by aerogardens and they have been working fine for years. You should also consider what you want to grow in this garden as there are only 3 pod slots and the garden is not that big. I would say any veggies are out of the picture and I would try to focus on herbs and flowers for this. I have already grown tea in this (chamomile, mint, and lavender which lasted about 4 months), then I grew just lavender which lasted about 5 months, and now I am growing snap dragons which were planted about a month ago. They are in the picture and they are doing very well and they are starting to grow very fast! All in all this is a great product and it really catches peoples' eye. Its also a solution with anyone who does not have a green thumb because this garden takes care of everything for you!

I seriously don’t write reviews like this. I don’t write reviews. BUT, I have been grumpy every morning since I knew myself, and this indoor garden thingy changed my mornings. Like I actually don’t care if basil grows up or not, but it makes me curious to see if it grew any. At least some sort of an excitement. One time I saw the first small leaf, dude that was the best morning. Seriously, nice stuff.

Got this for my mom as I noticed she's been asking me to pick up lots of raw spices for her lately. I had no idea what a hit it would be for her. My mom loves gardening but is now in her 80's and not able to do as much work in the yard, so the idea of this hydroponic garden was perfect for her. She is often intimidated by newer, high-tech stuff but this is a perfect blend of modern tech and traditional gardening. She has had great success with the garden and every time I go to her house, it is overflowing with bountiful spice plants. I would recommend this for anyone....easy to use and really delivers the goods.

I had owned one of the original AeroGarden's roughly 10 years ago. I really loved the idea of it, but eventually got rid of it because it was extremely difficult to clean. That one had 6 pods, this one has 3. I will say that I'm very impressed with this newer model. First of all, it uses LED lights instead of expensive bulbs that had to be bought and replaced frequently with the old model. The light timer and reminder to add the liquid fertilizer is easy to set up by just holding down the timer button until the light turns on and off. I will say that the light is extremely bright, and as such illuminates most of my house in the evening (I have it in the kitchen). The light needs to stay on for 16 hours a day, so I have it set to be on from 5am till 9pm so that the light wont disturb my sleep at night. This model is also much easier to clean than previous versions. The tank fills with plant roots which become tangled up and invade every available space. Luckily this comes apart easily and not a problem to just dump the roots out when ready for the next plants. I had no problem with the three included pods sprouting and growing nicely. What I like most about the Aerogarden is that you don't have to use their pods, you can use your own seeds with a little ingenuity. Just wash the plastic pod inserts and replace the sponge with ones you can buy on Amazon. Cut out paper circles and tape on top. Insert your own seeds. Obviously some plants work better with the Aerogarden than others; you certainly wont be growing any root vegetables. There's lots of blogs that document other users successes growing plants. Using this method is also a great way to start seeds to then transfer to your garden in the spring. One year update: I wanted to say that I have had no issues with my Aerogarden. It is easy to clean and very convenient. Herbs are so expensive at the grocery store and wilt so quickly. I love having fresh basil and parsley right on my counter top! The light, pump, everything, continues to work just as day one. The only thing is I did need to buy more of the liquid fertilizer. I am still very happy with it!
