After 8 months its been great, still is.
After 8 months we are so happy with this purchase. The freezer is full of herbs plus the live plants we chose to continue growing are doing well. A few seeds failed to sprout which Aerogrow replaced with no questions and no cost. They seem to be a great company. Not only did the herbs grow but any plant within a 4 foot radius grew all winter long. The lemon tree flowered and has fruit on it. We grew ghost peppers from seed and they are flourishing. If you haven't smelled a flowering lemon tree in your house in the winter you're missing out. Our Bounty unit is on a small TV tray table and anything below it benefits from the light. Aerogrow offers some amazing coupons/discounts on their website so I would suggest checking them before buying. Roots can grow into the pump so trimming the plant and roots is important and easy to do. Power outages require a simple keystroke to restart the system. The Bounty model has a programmable control for light and pump cycles. It also has quick start modes for many plants. It's controls are easier to operate than a microwave.

I love this item
I love this item! Every spring I drag out four grow lights, set up a 4 shelf cabinet, buy lots of seed pods or fill up pots and start watering. Many dont seem to make it and Ive been wondering if all those efforts are really worth it. This grower is convenient, efficient, and most of all grows amazingly strong plants. I started out with prefilled seed pods of herbs provided by the manufacturer. Those did well, but I really was looking to start some crops for the garden. I planted 7 pods with my own tomato seeds. In what seems like a short time, six of the seven exceeded the 2 feet maximum height and I moved them out to the garden using wall of water protection. The shortest was still over a foot tall and has three small tomatoes growing plus about 20 other blooms. When I pulled the other plants out, the roots were amazing, full and long. They have been in the ground for about 10 days and are doing well, about 30 days ahead of the last frost.in the wall of waters. I have reseeded more to have some succession planting. I also moved some of the herbs I grew outside under protection (I live in SW Virginia) A bonus with growing lettuce is no dirt to clean. Just rinse and you are done. This device tells you when to add water, when to add nutrients, and is very attractive on the countertop. Mine is in the kitchen. The light source is bright and looks like sunlight spectrum but the real proof is in the plants. Ive only had this about 3 months, but so far I am truly impressed. An update May 17, 2018. Im attaching a photo of a tomato plant grown from seed in the grower and planted about 2 weeks ago in my garden. A ripe tomato in mid-May in southwest Virginia is unheard of! Im so pleased with the results. After reading the reviews, I can see that some who purchased this item have taken great care to clean it out periodically and use distilled water. I think this will lead to continued success.

Nice Investment
Very good quality unit. Anybody could set it up. The on-screen prompts are simple, neat, and very easy to understand. The "hints" are AWESOME, being timed with actual growing stages of your plants. My chives didn't sprout, but Aerogarden support replaced them free of charge. You'll need to be okay with pruning at least every 3-4 days once your plants have reached approximately 30 days. At full grown, your plants will be super thirsty. The on-screen notification to add water will come on every few days. I put in about 90 ounces every additional H2O top-off. Not sure how well this will work out when we leave for our week vacation. The herbs are super tasty and my mini harvests last a long time in the refrigerator. I just put them in Ziploc bags. They offer a herb saver container that would probably be worth the investment. I will tell you that the Bounty produces like crazy! You'd better like to cook if you're going to own this thing. It's a really cool addition to our kitchen. We no longer need a night light! The natural style LED lighting has been great during these winter months. The kids have also enjoyed watching and learning about the growing & pruning process. It's really rewarding to "Grow your Own". For even the most novice gardener, the Bounty is totally idiot proof. I'd challenge anyone to screw it up! So, Have Fun & Get Growing!

These gardens are addicting
This is a great product & I paid for mine. For those reviewers that are disappointed about non-germinating pods, uneven water flow, etc, you need to contact AeroGrow. They have a marvelous website & great customer service & support. They wilI replace any pods that haven't germinated. I spent about 45 minutes talking to a lady who was very helpful. (She even told me that everyone @Aerogardens office has their own personal gardens & they love them) . I currently own 3 Bounty gardens. I'm using 1 for strawberries (flowers on day 6!), yellow tomatoes on #2 Bounty & peas on #3 garden. I actually found 6 varieties of peas that stay under 24". At last, home grown veggies in the winter. 12/25/15 I "planted" strawberry crowns. Day1, green leaves sprout. Day 4, OMG, flower buds! Day 6, flowers bloom (time to use the pollinator!). Here we are on 01/10/16, many little green strawberries! It's really weird how there aren't many leaves on these plants.) The outside strawberry plants grow a lot more leaves before blooming, but, hey, I don't know very much about hydroponics. 01/09/16- I planted "Golden Harvest" tomatoe kit in Bounty #2. Planted "Maestro" peas in Bounty #3. I'll update when they sprout. 01/18/16- The tomatoes sprouted in 4 days. The peas sprouted between 3 to 5 days! Last update 01/18/16: Last night I looked at the AeroGrow website and they have now made a new seed starter tray for the Bounty aerogardens. It is mades of plastic (like the deck of the Bounty), you can sprout up to 50 seedlings for your summer gardens! And it won't take 6 weeks like it does with soil. Fantastic!

Only Black Friday splurge -- and the best one
I don't usually buy anything in Black Friday season, but I was window shopping on Amazon and this guy showed up at almost half off. It grows excellently, and I'm looking forward to planting some salad greens for next crop. PROS: It really takes all of the thought out of growing fresh herbs. Place the seed stakes where they tell you to, fill with water to the designated line, and add the required amount of fertilizer. While not as bushy as the picture, our herbs came up lush and thick. Every time we have to prune (about once a week), we put the pruned leaves in the freezer for later cooking. The AeroGarden really doesn't require any supplemental sunlight. It's easy to resume your garden when you have to unplug it -- just choose the "power disconnected" option on the touchscreen once you plug back in, then reset the clock, and you're exactly where you were. We've had to unplug ours a dozen times or so in the last month. The Genovese and Thai basil are still going like champs, and they're full of juicy scent -- not just watered down celery. CONS: The herb packet that came with this AeroGarden had a chive set that never grew -- reading other reviews, that sounds like it's a standard response. The "mint" smelled and tasted like a strange cross between catnip and some lemon/chocolate varietal of mint -- nothing like peppermint, which has to be grown from a cutting anyway. **Six Month Update:** We just cleaned out the Aerogarden for the first time, because it started growing white, fluffy mold. It has been growing lettuce excellently for our salads, and kept cilantro alive and bushy for four months. The cleaning process was easy, and it is already growing the next crop of seedlings. **Twenty-One Month Update:** All of the LED bulbs are still functional. We're still using the Aerogarden daily -- a single basil plant starting from seed about six months into the previous basil plant being harvestable means that we have one ready when we chop down the established plant for being too woody and hogging the light. Tomatoes, basil, and various lettuces grow great. I haven't had incredible luck with cilantro -- it grows, but gets stringy and choked with its own dead stems in short order. Peas prefer to mold rather than sprout, but I haven't tried sprouting them in a wet paper towel first. I put a couple of potted plants around the base of the planter, and they successfully leech the stray light from the Aerogarden to grow well. I estimate that we eat two more cups of veggies every week, solely because they're in grabbing range and eyesight. I'm hoping that Black Friday this year has another sale, to pick up another one.

Tabletop gardening
Herbs are growing like weeds! I bought the Bounty (left in pic) from Amazon. It has 9 pods and at 14 days, all but 1 pod have germinated. I found that buying directly from Aerogarden costs less. So I bought a Bounty Elite (right) for $40 less than the Amazon price (shown at day 1). The difference is the Bounty Elite is stainless steel vs plastic on the Bounty. I love them. They are easy to set up and allow for gardening in a small space. Sure you can buy alot of veggies for the price, so economy may not be a good motivation. I like home grown and horticulture is a hobby. For those who have trouble with germination, I'd recommend checking water quality. Softened water has too much sodium. Aerogarden has a guarantee on their seed pods. Happy gardening!

Great countertop hydroponic system.
I’ve been using the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Bounty for just under a month and have been completely satisfied with it. The curly and flat-leaf parsley the system came with took a little bit longer than the other herbs to germinate, but everything has now sprouted and is doing well. Starting at about day 21, I’ve been clipping back decent sized handfuls of basil, dill, and cilantro daily as the smaller plants catch up. Other than trimming, the AeroGarden has only taken occasional water top-offs and biweekly feeding. I had to contact customer service about a missing trellis and they are graciously replacing it for me without much fuss. The attached picture shows the garden after some pruning, but if I hadn’t been clipping them, the basil and dill would have completely overgrown the space by now. UPDATE: Attached photo from almost day 60. All the herbs still going strong. I've found that slightly more aggressive feeding is required at this point. Towards the end of the two week feeding cycle, if no new nutrients are added, the plants seem to experience nitrogen deficiency and fresh growth comes in yellow.

It's fun and I can't wait to get my 2nd AeroGarden ...
I just purchased my 2nd AeroGarden Bounty today. The first AeroGarden Bounty I used since December of 2015. I used the herb kit that came with Bounty model but used only 5 of 9 pods. The other 4 pods, I replaced with my own lettuce seeds. Only pod that failed was the chive pod but other herbs and lettuce grew abundantly. The initial experiment lasted 2 months and probably could have harvested for another few weeks but I wanted to start a new batch. Last week I started a new batch: 4 lettuce pods and 2 Asian herb pods and 3 perilla leave pods using my own seeds. After only 5 days, all the seeds have germinated. The initial investment is a bit too much even though I purchased them via lightening deals. If you don't mind the initial cost, I recommend the AeroGarden Bounty because it's fun and educational. I can't wait to get my 2nd AeroGarden so that I can experiment with flowers and much more.

Perfect indoor garden
Excellent product. Purchased for my wife for Christmas so she can garden through the winter (we live in Idaho). Today is the 47th day since she started with the herb pods that were included. The growth is amazing and the lamp is already adjusted to its maximum height. She is transplanting them to pots with dirt so she can start another garden I have included a picture, in the picture you can see a portion of a standard LP record cover on the left to give you scale.

So worth it
I have wanted the Aerogarden for so long but was nervous because of the price tag. After getting it though it is worth the money. I have so much Basil I have made Basil pesto sauce from scratch multiple times in the two months I've had it, I can't keep up with the growth. Every pod sprouted and have all grown really well, almost too well. I have to trim the plants almost every day to keep them from blocking each other. It does use water really fast after the plants get big but what do you expect from several large plants? If you live in a small apartment (like I do) consider that it is very large and you're going to need to designate some space for it somewhere. I had no option but to put it on my kitchen table but it's actually really nice to come home and see healthy plants growing right in your dining room. Overall, definitely worth the money. I'm thinking of buying a second one.
