Using this light for veg and its awesome. Great growth, and tight nodes. Edit. I own the black version w 2 dimmer knobs

These are a must-have item to raise and lower your light without risking it falling. I've had no problems with the product at all.Be sure to hold the chord going to your lights when you first push the release lever, if you have a heavy light it's going to come crashing down without holding on to it.

I'm really glad I paid the extra ten dollars for the dimming knob. This thing was INSANELY bright out of the box. I have it about two feet up over some basil, rosemary, a grass/palm plant, an orchid, and succulents. I keep the brightness set at only about 60%, and that seems to be enough so far for everything. The fan is a bit loud, but it doesn't bother me too much, and the metal housing never even feels warm to the touch. I'm going to buy another one once I have enough room for more plants.

I used this light to get two plants through seedling/vegetative stage and it’s worked a treat on both occasions. It puts off very little heat(almost none when dimmed down) and dosnt warm up the closet I have it running in. The daisy chain option is great as I plan on buying a second to get more plants going at one time. Dimmable feature is great for starting seeds or going easy on fresh clones/transplants.

Great light. I love its simplicity. The twist knob turns the lights on and off and slowly ramps up the light intensity. No other switches to worry about or complicate its operation. We have been using it about a year for a 2'x4' hydroponic garden. It's a little small for that size, however we keep our garden by the window so it gets supplemental light. I'd recommend two lights if you are in a dark environment - but this is easy because you can daisy chain this model of light.

I have three ViparSpectra units now, one 300W dimmable, and two 600W. All three have exceeded my expectations. They are solidly built, with cooling fans that work well. Just remember to keep the tops of the plants at least 2 feet from the light, or burnt leaves could result, especially with the 600W unit. Maybe start at 2.5 feet (for the 600W), then adjust from there.

This is my second VIPARSPECTRA 300W LED, I also own the original V300. They sure did turn up the reds quite a bit with this light. I just installed it, but looking forward to the results. Everything has been going great with the V300 til now so I expect similar results with the R300 too. I do notice that the Red lights seem to hurt my eyes a little more now, but I have polarized sunglasses so I'll just wear those. FWIW, I think 2 300W fixtures are a much better deal than 1 450W fixture. More total wattage and an ability to spread the light around.

Bought a 1300.00 LED before. Wasent impressed at all so I writ off LEDs in general. After buying this I am again interested in LED technology. This light was awesome. Beautiful, colorful , aramaric fruit and growth. The plants actually grew to the light fixture, but didn’t get burned a bit. You don’t have to break the bank for a quality performing LED. As I have see, more bells and whistles and a hefty price tag don’t guarantee performance. It’s great to see the market come alive with new technologies and competition. I am excited to see how this will help gardeners and agriculture as a very viable cost reduction, (up front on the purchase, and on the back end with decreased energy consumption and increased production.

I bought this to cut harvest times in half, I use this for the first tent during seedling and veg stages and it works great. I have the bigger better ViparSpectra for the flowering tent. The electricity usage is higher than expected, about $150 a month for both tents. However I’m harvesting around 9 ounces of awesome buds worth $260 an ounce easy every 1.5 months. So it more than makes up for it.

Very surprised... This is my first led grow light purchase and I bought it to replace my t5 propagation light which stopped working. This light does a fantastic job covering my 4x3 grow area for seedlings and young plants. I don't own a grow tent and have a cheap setup of milar with the entrance being open but it didnt cause plants to reach for the light. the young plants responded better to this light than the 4 bulb 54w each t5 light I had. This light is perfect for propagation purposes and getting a jump start to growing season with peppers and tomatoes. I don't know if it would flower a tomato plant, we will find out in a month. I would be very interested to see how much better it would do if it was actually used in a tent.
