Great for large+heavy laptops!
At first I was skeptical that the "AmazonBasics" notebook mount tray would be possibly the best laptop tray for a giant laptop like the Alienware 17 r4, but it turns out it's fantastic. At the time of writing, the AmazonBasics tray seems to be secretly identical to the Ergotron 50-193-200 Notebook Tray. I don't have any proof of this other than product descriptions and pictures, but it's built with an equivalent level of quality to the Ergotron LX arm. Back to the tray. I wanted to mount the 17r4 on a laptop arm, and wanted to get a tray with adequate cooling/airflow space. At first, I thought the "Mount-It! VESA Laptop Mount Tray" (https://smile.amazon.com/Mount-Universal-Notebook-Monitor-Computers/dp/B06WW8NVTK) would be a good idea because it seems like it offers more ventilation. It is NOT a good idea (read my review there for why). The AmazonBasics tray is built out of SOLID materials... The tray is some relatively thick sheet steel with strong screw holes (that extend past the thickness of the sheet metal for a couple threads). The arms on the front are aluminum with rubber end caps, and the arm clamps underneath seem to have really solid clamping force. The tray shipped with a bunch of useful accessories: * Various screws (including thumbscrews, which I used) * 3 sets of 'retainer' hooks for the rear of the laptop. For the alienware 17 r4, they don't do a whole lot, but I think for thinner machines you could totally sneak them through the screen hinge and provide some additional retention. * 3 strips of 3M adhesive velcro (for attaching a removable laptop dock). I used one of these to attach an engineering ruler which props up the back end of the laptop. Airflow SOLVED. * 1 fat rubber 3M adhesive thingy (if you have a smooth-bottomed laptop, like a MacBook or similar) * 2 wire loop hooks (not pictured). Useful for cable management once you actually attach it to an arm. Additionally, this laptop tray uses a full 75x75 VESA pattern to mount, meaning it's got a solid 56.25 cm^2 contact area with the mounting arm (unlike the Mount-It! arm, with a paltry 12 cm^2). This tray never felt like it would flex, slip or otherwise. (The box things hanging off the back of the laptop are opolar lc06 laptop coolers (https://smile.amazon.com/Temperature-Auto-Temp-Detection-2600-5000RPM-Nintendo/dp/B01NACVLWM/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533584317&sr=1-3&keywords=opolar+lc06), in case you're wondering. Yes they do actually work (pull down internal temps by a 5-6 degrees C), and yes, they can be a bit loud) So, anyway, if you want to support a giant probably-shouldn't-be-on-an-arm-but-you-want-to-anyway laptop, you want this tray :). Since the aluminum arms are extendable, I would also trust this stand for any reasonably sized machine too :). I would NOT put a Predator 21 X on this :P

Solid construction and able to fit 17" gaming laptops
I have an ASUS ROG 17" gaming laptop that I wanted to mount to one arm of a dual-arm desk mount. I ordered this with the AmazonBasics dual arm mount and I am very pleased. Setup was a snap (stick on rubberized grip pads, extend the hooks to the base of the laptop, and attach to the desk mount arm). The metal is solid and not flimsy and the thumb screws to adjust the hooks work as they are supposed to. As heavy as the gaming laptop is, it doesn't slide around.

Perfect for pairing a monitor and laptop on your dual arm mount!
I wish there had been more action shots of this laptop mount paired with a real office environment. I took a chance since I was only going with one new monitor on my Amazon Basics Dual Arm mounting system. I'm so impressed. I love that I can get both of my screens up at the right height for viewing and zero hunching over. So happy with the additional desk space I now have. It's great! Would also like to add that this little laptop tray can also accommodate laptops AND their docking stations. They're just that beastly. I don't need it but it would be a definite perk if I did.

Not for Apple Mounts
Frankly, I was AMAZED to find that this product actually existed. I have a monitor arm that used to hold an iMac and I had been thinking, "how can I jerry-rig this to hold a laptop". I randomly started looking for similar laptop stands to see how they were made and one of my random searches for "laptop mount tray" resulted in this product. The downside: had my mount not been for an iMac (which has a sort of inverted triangle screw set-up) this mount would have worked without any problems. I couldn't find one specifically for the crazy Apple mounts so I fixed that problem with my drill press by putting 3 new holes in it and the tray works as it was originally intended. It's very well made. The hooks are a little on the flimsy side, but they do their job. Overall I'm really happy with this!

Solidly built and the perfect fit for my Lenovo X1 Carbon
I bought this tray to replace another that came with a dual monitor/laptop arm package. I found that the other tray would not allow my laptop to sit at a comfortable height above my tabletop, and this tray solved that problem. The tray itself is solid, and fits my Lenovo X1 Carbon Ultrabook perfectly.

Excelentes resultados

it's absolutely perfect. The cable management is nice too
I use this in conjunction with a dual monitor stand so that I can treat my Mac laptop as a third monitor on my desk. I can't vouch for how well it would work with a heavier laptop, but for a little mac, it's absolutely perfect. The cable management is nice too, I never lose my power or ethernet cables when I remove/replace my laptop.

Great value, very solid
I use this on a Amazon Basics arm to support a 2018 15" MacBook Pro. I sue an external keyboard, so I'm not actively typing on the supported laptop, which may or may not change how well it works. For my setup, the laptop is very solidly supported, and I was able to adjust it to exactly the position I needed for good ergonomics. The stand is shipped in great packaging, and is very easy to setup and install. Overall, I don't think I would change anything - works exactly as I'd hoped!

Terrific mounts
These are terrific. I purchased two and use them with a WALI Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand to hold both of my 17" laptops; a Toshiba Satellite, and a MSI Dominator Pro. This get the laptops off my desk and creates a lot of extra workspace. I use both laptops with a USB keyboard/mouse so I don't have to do much typing on the laptops' keyboards. The tray is sturdy and the nonslip pads are a good bonus for holding the laptops in place. The adjustable arms extend more than far enough to accommodate the large laptops and allow me to position them perfectly. I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered these, but I'm glad I did.

The best laptop tray out there.
I added a second arm to my Ergotron desk-mount monitor arm to hold my 15" MacBook Pro. I considered the tray from Ergotron but the AmazonBasics tray is just as good. Or better because I saved $$ over the Ergotron. While doing my research, I couldn't see any difference between the two trays. The AmazonBasics tray with its rubber pads holds my computer in place snugly. It's well-made and sturdy.
