Perfect for me

After shopping around for a kitchen scale, I purchased this Etekcity model. It has proven itself durable and reliable for my needs, which are fairly light. I use it once or twice a week for weighing out baking ingrediaents. It is sleek, lightweight, and cleans up easily. Easy to use. The insert mentioned it was not for commercial use, which ought to be obvious. But for occasional use in the kitchen, it has been perfect. A very good value. (This is a non-monetized review. I received nothing in exchange for posting this review. This is simply my honest opinion of the product I purchased here on Amazon. Reviews posted in exchange for goods or money skew the entire system of customer reviews, and I am against them.)

“A beautiful, precise, and accurate kitchen scale!”

I just recently received this beautiful and most of all easy to use kitchen scale by Etekcity! This scale was extremely accurate and precise. When measuring cooking ingredients, I was relieved to know that the digital scale did not become imprecise, meaning bouncing back and forth between decimal points despite the unit changes when shifting to and from grams, ounces, and milliliters. Overall, the scale could also virtually fit anywhere in a kitchen (I.e., kitchen drawer, cabinet, on the counter etc.) In addition, the scale is quite nicely made and I suspect that it will be very durable and last me a long time!

Seller Fixed issue with new unit Edited 5/9/19

Edit 5/9/19 - So the seller asked if I would receive a new unit at this point to see if they could take care of the original issues I had with the first product. This unit seems to have fixed all of my original issues with the product over the past 2 weeks. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I would recommend. Original review - I meal prep and I bought this to weigh out all my food for the entire week and then cook. The one day I cook a week I use this scale for maybe a half-hour in total on time. I turn it off and then the next week I go to turn it on the batteries are dead. I've changed the batteries everytime I use it essentially. This thing drains the battery even when not in use.

Scale for puppies

Bought this scale to weigh my litter of puppies. It's fantastic so far. I just put a plate on it, tare the plate, and then set a puppy on it. Works like a charm. Would definitely recommend it. Plus it's very nice looking. Great for the kitchen if that's what you're buying it for.

GREAT KITCHEN SCALE WORKS! This not just a pretty implement.

This is my second digital kitchen scale, and what a difference a few years make! My old scale was about the same dainty size, but had to be turned over, a button pressed, turned back to right-side-up check to see if the unit of measure had changed. OK it worked... some of the time. This scale by Etekcity is easy to use, easy to turn on, easy to shift unit of measure, easy to Tare so I can weigh multiple ingredients into one container. I've only had it a month, but use it multiple times daily; it gets smudged fingerprints, but big deal! A simple wipe with a damp towel, and because it still relatively new, I buff it to shining perfection—when I'm done using it, of course. I took the photo before I was done cooking, so it shows the fingerprints and smudges 😆. The slightly larger size allows me to easily weigh items on a dinner plate or larger bowl. I am so glad I read the reviews in which several people mentioned how easy it is to store in a drawer. I had thought that would be inconvenient. Not so! I put it in the drawer on top of my measuring cups, measuring spoons, spatulas, and tongs so it is immediately to hand.

A solid kitchen scale

This product has changed my relationship to cooking. I was hesitant to buy because a few reviews showed the scale not working, or the display crapping out. I have to assume the product manufacturing has improved since then. This small scale does exactly what it claims: it measures weight in 4 different measures. Sometimes I have to wipe down the surface, but that is more a problem of me sloppily pouring ingredients into my weighing bowl and pretending I'm a mad scientist. The LCD screen is readable, and the scale seems to measure consistently. The scale measures in increments of 0.1 grams, so if you're looking for hundredth of a gram accuracy, this isn't for you. The scale does automatically turn off after a period of inactivity. That is a battery saver, and can be a detracting if you tend to get distracted in the kitchen, or want to take small breaks in between measuring things. tl;dr: - If you don't own a kitchen scale, and you cook: buy this. - If you own a kitchen scale, and you cook: buy this if you spent less than $25.00 on your scale. - If you don't own a kitchen scale, and you don't cook: go buy a cook book, then come buy this. You need to stop eating out so much. Its bad for your wallet.

I Still Love It After Almost a Year

The large platform on this scale makes it much more useful than most kitchen scales. I can use my largest mixing bowl on this scale and still read the display. I keep it handy so it is easy to use and lets me avoid using measuring cups that would need to be washed. I enjoy baking my own bread and this scale allows me to measure flour super accurately in grams, then I can just hit the tare button to zero the scale for measuring the next ingredients in grams, or fluid ounces or lbs/oz's. The scale has a range up to about 10 pounds so it can be used with heavy glass or ceramic bowls. I use it almost every day and it has worked flawlessly for 11 months on the original batteries.

I am impressed by this kitchen scale. After opening the box, I found a plastic bag that contained -2- replacement batteries for this unit. For fun, I weighed the manual for this scale - and guess what? The scale weighed the 4 or 5 page manual (4" x 7" - approximately) This will suit my purpose for both cooking - it has mL as well as the ounces, grams and pounds measurement on the scale. Also, the platform is large enough to do a tare weight and still see the numbers. The platform surface is flat - big enough for most needs. Also, if you register your warranty on their website, you gain an additional 1 year on the warranty.

All in all I am totally pleased with this scale and especially pleased with their customer ...

I purchased this item Sept 28th 2016 and got it Oct 1st. I opened it up to make sure it was not damaged in any way and turned it on. I then put it away and never used it. I got it out on January 31st to check the weight on a rifle part and got different readings. Depending on where I placed the item it measured anywhere from 3gm to 12gm. I emailed Etekcity with a video showing them what it was doing at 11:08am and asked for advise. Without any hesitation they responded at 2:06pm for me to send them my order number from Amazon. I emailed it to them at 3:44pm and got a response back at 4:39pm saying they would be sending out a replacement on February 1 and would take 3-6 business days to arrive and it wasn't necessary to return the defective unit. On February 2nd the new one arrived in the mail. I immediately opened it and tested it with the same part and moved it to 12 different parts of the scale. I got the same measurement no matter where I place it. All in all I am totally pleased with this scale and especially pleased with their customer support. I give the scale a 5 STAR I give customer support 10 STARS. Recommend this company to anyone looking for a scale at a decent price.

Fantastic kitchen scale

This product is very affordable and has been accurate in all of the tests that I have done. The sleek design and large display make it perfect for me, as I can easily fit it anywhere in my kitchen and see the display without trouble. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and with the warranty I'm not concerned about how it will perform in the coming months.
