Add-On Set

I bought Picasso Tiles 100 piece set for my Grandson who is 2. He loves them and since his birthday is coming up, I wanted to add more and different tiles to the first set. I bought the Designer Artistry Kit with 42 pieces because I think he'll enjoy building and adding things like windows, etc. I felt like he could really get creative with this addition. They really are awesome and kids have tons of fun for hours on end. Heck, so do the adults! I also bought another set, but I'll leave that review for that set separately.

Compatible with Other Flat Edge Magnetic Tiles! Nice Quality! Sturdy!

We own the 100 piece magnetic tile set from PicassoTiles and purchased this to add on to our set. PicassoTiles 100 Piece Set 100pcs Magnet Building Tiles Clear Magnetic 3D Building Blocks Construction Playboards, Creativity beyond Imagination, Inspirational, Recreational, Educational Conventional We have always been impressed with the quality of Picasso Tiles and I trusted this would be the same. I am so happy with our purchase! These are slightly larger than I expected, but they work really well with PicassoTiles and other brand magnetic tiles. They hook together and have free moving wheels. Great way to expand your existing set! Solid 5 Stars for PicassoTiles products!

The color in these tiles is just beautiful and the magnets work really well

The color in these tiles is just beautiful and the magnets work really well. I bought them for my mother who has Alzheimer's but is doing well at home with 24 hour care. The set sits on the dining room table and inevitably whoever is working with my mother or whoever comes to visit starts to play and create with these tiles. It is a great way to engage with her. She always had an artistic and architectural nature, so these were a perfect gift for her. My only regret is that I didn't get the bigger set to begin with. I added this smaller set on to a medium size set, and I haven't seen these, but she really loves working with the bigger long triangles. I think the best way to get the most of those is by ordering the bigger set.

A Great Alternative to more Expensive Magnetic Tiles

I wanted to add to my children's Magna-tiles set. We have had them for about 2 years and their set needed to grow with their imagination. I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative, but I had tried that before with a different brand and was terribly disappointed and ended up returning those. I purchased a small set of Picasso Tiles to see how I like them. These are great! So far, they hold as well as Magna-Tiles and an extra perk is that they have some fun new shapes. Eventually I plan to purchase more of these because they are so much less expensive than Magna-Tiles and unless time proves otherwise, they work just as well. And if you are wondering if this type of toy is worth purchasing - My opinion is: Absolutely! Even at the much higher price of Magna-tiles, I was intending to purchase more this year for my kids. We have had our tiles for about 2 years and I don't think they go more than a couple of days without playing with them. Their imaginations sure can run wild and I love to see their creativity. When other kids come over, most of them go looking to play with the tiles right away. I find that people of all ages enjoy them - myself included!

great product

both my kids (4 and 2-years-old) love these. the magnets are strong enough that the pieces have no problem holding together. sturdy - my son has thrown them across the floor and structures have been demollished repeatedly and the pieces have no cracks and magnets have not shaken loose. great set to go along with other multi-piece sets to allow endless building possibilities.

One of the best building sets for children 3 to (?)

Of course this review of 5 Stars is for both Myself (over 21) and "BK" (a 3 year old girl). What is fantastic about Picasso Tiles is that even a 3 year old can DO COOL THINGS with them. Building 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional, no restrictions, easy to assemble. I can see interest remaining for older kids as well as they will simply create more complex structures. Highly recommend this set to START with as it comes with two four-wheeled "cars" which can be built on.

Works great with Magna-Tiles !

I have the Magna-Tiles 74 piece set and they work perfectly with these 3 1/4 x 6 1/4" cars. Every large and small Magna-Tiles piece was able to fit on these cars. Very happy with the purchase so far.

Great accessory but car links come disconnected quite easily

These are a great accessory for the tiles so that the children can build moveable structures. The magnets on the cars are strong so the structures remain stable. Our only complaint is that the cars get disconnected rather easily as the post only goes a little above the top of the ring. If the cars go over a lip of more than a quarter of an inch the cars become disconnected. It would have been nice had the post been higher or if there was some other way to make the linkage a bit more secure.

Upscaling

Bought a smaller Picasso Tiles set last year and it was a tremendous hit, with both grandson and son-in-law. So this year I'm following up with this big set and Picasso Tiles STEAM Engineering kit. We plan to keep the older set at our house so we only have 60 pieces to find, not 180. We'll let the parents deal with the larger set; in true Grandparent form.

Made our Magnatiles better!

We own Magnatiles and Magformers and try to stick to those brands because we know the magnets will be strong and all the pieces will be compatible. However, Magnatiles don't have doors or windows available to purchase, so when I saw these I decided it was worth it to try them. I AM SO GLAD WE DID! Before we added these pieces, my son (age 4) didn't play with the Magnatiles. We have the 100-piece set. I was considering selling them on Ebay. However, once he had these doors and windows, which have magnets that seem equally strong as the Magnatiles and just as durable, the Magnatiles became his favorite toy. He builds houses, airports, castles, garages. This boy who doesn't like to sit still and has already knocked out a tooth (at age 3!), will sit for AN HOUR straight just building houses. I can't recommend this set enough. I would say not only is it compatible with Magnatiles, but it makes your Magnatile set better.
