Fun set of 12 plastic dinosaurs with paperback book and cardboard carrying box.

My almost four year old grandson is just beginning to enjoy playing with and learning about dinosaurs. I looked for a set of plastic dinosaurs that he could have fun with and found this great set. Not only does it have 12 dinosaurs, it has a full-color paperback book and a nice cardboard carrying/storage box that holds the 12 easily. The book is a wonderful add-on in this set compared to others that I found. I have been rewarding him with two items from this set per week for the last 7 weeks. The first week, he got the book and a dinosaur, then two dinosaurs per week until the last week when he received one dinosaur and the carrying box. It gave us a lot of pleasure over the last two months and allowed us time to look at the book, absorb the information and discuss the “new” dinosaurs over the entire week. Now that he has the full set, he is over the moon about them and loves playing with them. For a fairly inexpensive gift, it was a real hit and one that he will continue to enjoy for a long time. The dinosaurs, which are approximately 7 inches tall/long, included in this kit are: Allosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Apotsaurus, Velociraptor, Parasaurolophus, Diplodocus, Monoclonius, Pachycephalosaurus, Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and Tryannosaurus (T-Rex). When I first opened the box, it was so packed that some of the dinosaurs standing on two feet could not quite stand on their own. I was able to tweak the legs back into position and now all stand well by themselves.

Dinosaurs!

I ordered these for my grand-kids and they are awesome! They are sturdy and seem like they will stand up to some heavy duty playing. All the different colors are nice (although I think it would have been cool to have them be life like in color). I didn't even realize they came with an illustrated book that has great pictures and info on each dinosaur. I would recommend this to anyone who has kids that like dinosaurs and I would definitely give these as a gift. If any problems should arrive once the kids play with these I will update this review, but I don't think there will be any issues.

Perfect - ready for part 2!!

Just so perfect! Wish there was a part 2! I read a lot of reviews before buying. I wanted realistic looking dinos (not cartoonish). This is a really great assortment of species in a very creative color patterns. The colors really help the kid fin them in the book. Did I mention it has a book with each species getting it owns 2 pages. Not only does my kid look up these dinos, but she flips through feverishly during dino movies to find matches. I cannot recommend this enough and I wish they had a flying and water dino part 2 version - would definitely buy it right away!

Perfect companions

These dinosaurs are the perfect toy for little dinosaur fans. They are a huge hit with my granddaughter, and she chooses a different one to take with her everywhere she goes. We have no complaints, she plays with them all the time. The orange T rex is the only one who can't stand up on his own, but he's still the hit of the tea party, so she doesn't seem to mind. If you've got a dinosaur lover, these are perfect!

Great set and size, good accompanying book

Great set and size. They are all about 6-7 inches. My two year old loves to play with them. The book is a nice bonus. I almost threw it away because it was packed into the bottom of the box and I thought it was part of the box. Don't miss it! It is colorful and has a picture of each dinosaur with the name and a few fun facts. He enjoys learning their names. Would be really nice to have a cardboard book version but this softback will do for the price.

Perfect gift for dinosaur fans

I'm very pleased with this dinosaur set! We only got one duplicate, and it was a different color so it wasn't too bad. They're a good size and reasonably sturdy, and the little display box they came in was a nice touch. We got these for our 3-year-old's birthday, and he's really enjoying them! I'd buy them again for anyone's kid who's into dinosaurs. :)

Great size, kids love 'em, Happiness!

When I ordered these dinosaurs, I was actually expecting them to be smaller. In this case, it was a pleasant surprise. I bought these for my two little boys who have recently developed a love for all things prehistoric. Ages 4 and 2 1/2, they LOVE these. They like to match each dino to its picture while Dad reads the name aloud. They terrorize their cars and Yo Gabba Gabba figurines. They march them across counters, tables, and anything that can be marched upon by a plastic dinosaur. Are they THE best quality toy dinosaur? HA! No, of course not. But it's just under 12 bucks for a dozen, so yeah. A dollar a dinosaur. Some of the paint work seems rushed and there might be slight irregularities on the finer parts (horns, tails, etc), but I had to REALLY look them over to find anything like that of note. The truth of the matter is, my kids love them, they are sturdy but not super hard, they're a darn good size - each one is about the size of my hand (pictured) and for a beginner set of educational toys, the price is perfect. Kids are happy, I'm happy - really. that's all that matters. Great purchase, would do it again!
