This is a great kit. I was really worried that I was going to get junk drills and taps. I needed this to repair some stripped threads for some tool holders on one of my CNC machines. Tool holders are not made from the hardest metal but the drill cut it like butter and the tap had no problems with 4 deep holes. I had pretty much the ideal setup to drill and tap set up in my Bridgeport but was really surprised at how well they cut. I would recommend this product for sure.

This is cheaper than buying one M6 Helicoil at my local auto store. Nice to know I have many other sizes in case I strip threads again. This helped me with my Husqvarna HU800awd (Honda GCV190 engine) lawn mower carburetor. I stripped the threads on the aluminum engine, the M6 size is what I needed and worked out perfect.

This kit saved a part that would have been in excess of $1000 to replace. How can you go wrong for the price ! I also like the metal storage box being metal. It should last in our shop.

Must Have Kit.

This thread set worked very well and saved me from having to pull my civic head and take it too a machine shop. Not much to say other than it does what it is supposed to do and the coils held very well. I was able to crank down on the bolt to the correct torque spec with no issues. I used some thread lock (red) when I applied the coil for some extra insurance and it worked great. I'd recommend having this kit handy especially if you are working on cars because sooner or later you will break a bolt or strip some threads and this will save you some aggravation and money.

Works first time

The Rethread Helicoil is a life saver, its the best stripped thread repair I have found on the market today. All the equipment is contained in this repair kit with easy to understand instructions. Usually, repairs are not as good as the original thread but I have found that this is not the case with this repair kit. After testing the hold power from the original and one with the Helicoil, the Helicoil tested far beyond what the original thread would hold. The Helicoil Thread is actually stronger and bights into the surrounding metal.

A shop necessity that I didn't know I needed

For the longest time I had just paid other people to fix my mistakes when I'd destroy threads while working on things. More recently I needed to replace a strut mount bracket which I destroyed. With this kit being approximately the same price as a new bracket, I figured "why not? I have nothing to lose." Immediately upon receipt of the kit, I noticed that the case it comes with had a sloppy paint job on it and I lowered my expectations - in reality: who cares about what the case looks like anyway? So, following the instructions I drilled out and tapped the holes in the bracket, installed a matching helicoil to the bolt I had. Started to thread the bolt in. I immediately got worried because the bolt was going in just finger tight whereas with the original threads I had to use my impact wrench. It got to the point of applying tension to the bolt as it was tightening down and sure enough the bolt stayed put and was engaged!!! OH MY GOODNESS - YES!!! I am literally slapping myself now for the hundreds of dollars I have wasted through the years paying other people to essentially do what I just did in 1 minute. Get this kit, you won't regret it.

Definitely recommended set to have

My first time using this hit N also using helicoils. The quality of the kit is very good. Love the metal case it came in. Because of space in my engine bay I had to cut my bit. But the tools are off high quality!!! The threads on my exhaust manifold are done.. I drilled the tapped then inserted cools u dinghy tools provided. The kit has all you need!

Great value and quality.

Great value kit. It did what is supposed to as described. One issue I did have some of the coils came at an angle and did not thread in properly. But the kit had plenty od spares to continue my task and complete the job.

Just buy this kit and be done with it.

Never needed one of these before but rebuilding an old motorcycle I found several stripped out screw holes... This kit made quick work of them. Includes everything you need except a way to measure the pitch of the bad bolt (but that's what other tools are for). Extremely high quality and organized in a nice metal box. Not American made but head and shoulders better than my Harbor Freight taps and dies. GREAT addition to my home workshop.
