Great toy for little readers

This book far exceeded my expectations. There's a lot to keep your lo entertained for minutes at a time (more than 30 seconds was a record around here for a while) My dd cares very little for entertaining herself (3 mo) but this book has her complete attention. My granddaughter, who is 6 month, is fascinated as well. . . I plan to order another for her for Christmas this year. I like that there is a lot going on with this book---Things to twist or slide on the pages, a choice between story or music mode, the piano on the side, the lights. . . This toy is a keeper. Plus----it's pink! I know, they could really care less, but it doesn't "clash" with my pastel nursery---a big plus for me! I like that "put together" and clean/coordinated look, so I try to get only toys that match her theme/colors so it's not overwhelming when they're scattered across her rug. Maybe I'm just a neat freak ;-)

My 5 month old niece LOVES this book!

Bright colors, happy songs, lights and large moving things makes this toy a hit with little ones! There's a lot of tactile, visual, and auditory stimulation that helps keep little ones occupied for a while! Great item!

Excellent buy!

I purchased this book as a present for my son’s first birthday. He tends to be very aggressive with books though he does enjoy flipping back and forth through the pages. He also loves toys with buttons, lights and music. As such, this book was perfect for him and quickly became his favorite toy. Each button plays multiple sounds effects which vary based on which setting is selected and also which page of the book you are viewing. My little one is constantly on the move and in to everything, but this book could keep him entertained longer than any other toy he owned. Six months later, I still keep it in his diaper bag to hand him during car rides. It’s proven very durable, holding up to a toddler dropping it and frequently sitting and standing on the pages and buttons. We have had to replace the batteries 2 or 3 times over the months, but if anything that’s just an indicator of how much use this book sees. We like it so much, we bought his cousin the pink edition for her first birthday!

Great toy for kids

The VTech Musical Rhymes Book - Pink - Online Exclusive is a very good book for a little one. My daughter who is 1 loves this book. It is very hard for a little one to keep from getting distracted. When I set my daughter on the floor in her play area this is the first thing she crawls to. She loves the music. Every time a song comes on she bounces up and down. This book keeps her (mommy and daddy too) entertained for a while. The plastic on this book is nice and durable. I was afraid it would not last long because my daughter likes to pick things up and immediately drop them. We have hard wood floors. But so far so good. My daughter has dropped this book a couple of times already and you would not even know it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with kids.

Great learning toy!

My 1 year old daughter loves this book! The inside is interactive with buttons that slide to make sounds or play music. The 5 buttons sticking out the side with musical instruments can be used as a mini piano when the book is closed. My baby loves music and this has quickly become one of her favorite toys. We will be flying from coast to coast this summer and i know that this is one of the few toys we will be taking on the plane. It keeps her busy and entertained and it has a volume control so i can turn down the sounds to not disturb the other passengers. It encourages reading readiness and brain growth though rhymes and music. The book is colorful and made to withstand the rough play of toddlers. It came ready to use, no assembly or batteries required, which is great for busy parents.

Daughter and Mother approved!

I got this for my daughter for her first Christmas. She was seven months old at that time. She loves it! We only ever play with it together because, as others have pointed out, it's a finger pinching hazard. My daughter loves watching the blinking star as the songs play and smiles and laughs when I sing along. At eight months old she's already learning to correctly play with and move, the moving parts, that are in the book. The audio is very clear, I have no issues understanding the words. I also have a four year old son who likes the book and loves to sing along with it! This book has taught him these songs, so I know the audio is understandable to a young child as well. I don't really have any complaints about this book and would highly recommend it. In fact, I'm now on the lookout for a few similar toys for my daughter's first birthday.

but a lot like this one

I bought this toy when my one year old daughter broke her VTech book that was very similar. I'm thinking it was an older model of this one as it was different, but a lot like this one. Upon receiving this, my husband and I noticed right off the bat that it was made much better than the one that my daughter broke. She absolutely loves the new one just as much if not more than she did the old one. She carries it around with her and hands it to my husband or I whenever she's wanting to get in our laps. The old one had things that were electrical inside the pages while this one seems to keep all the wires in the middle and back page. She is still pretty rough with this one, but so far it has withstood her throwing it around and banging on it. Absolutely love this toy for my child and love singing the songs along to her. Cool that it has the instruments on the side as well. After she broke her previous book, I came on Amazon looking for an exact copy of it. Luckily I also saw this one and it was priced much better than the other. Very glad to have this toy and hope that it holds up for my new daughter than is on the way! :) Your child would love to have this toy!!

There are 2 different book versions on this page

The 5 stars is for the VTech Musical Rhymes Book, not the VTech Rhyme and Discover Book that deserves 2 at best, they share the same sales page and what seems to be causing the confusion in the q&a section over what toy does what. I purchased both and the musical rhymes book is far superior. It repeats the entire rhyme and can be changed to just play the song without words if you don't want to keep hearing the rhyme. The discover book only plays the first 2 lines of any page, cannot be changed and the three side light up animals just repeat. My 1 year old loves her light up and talking books and the discover book is the first that hasn't held her attention.

Both daughters love it. Provides countless hours of entertainment.

My 16-month-old daughter absolutely loves this toy. She sings along with it, it's very interactive. It entertains her for car rides and also at restaurants. The volume can be turned fairly low so it doesn't interrupt many people walk out and about. My three-year-old also likes it. This is the third variation of this item that we have purchased because my kids enjoy them that much.
