I use this to pull vacuum on hvac linesets and so far it has work flawlessly. Maintain the oil and maintenance on this unit. I pull and hold -29 hgm on a newly brazed or repaired line set and vacuum holds. Great product and even greater price.

Nice little vacuum pump, and it will work well for the small vacuum chamber I made to help change oil on small engines etc... If however you are thinking of using this commercially I would not, this is a home game type unit made for light duty and occasional use and as a hobbyist or occasional user like me it should last a long time with basic care like changing the oil once in a while.

It is a toy single stage pump, but for the price it actually seems to work reasonably well. It is rated on the compliance plate at 5 Pa ultimate vacuum (or about 37.5 micron). I get about 120 micron out of it with nothing but the thermocouple gauge. Like most pumps it will bubble and spit some oil out when pumping a gassy load, a small trap would prevent this, I'll likely make one for it. I suspect the oil it ships with is not very good vacuum oil. It has a distinct odour which is generally a bad sign, if you can smell it the vapour pressure of something in it is non-trivial. I will replace the oil with a high quality vacuum oil and see if it can pump a bit lower. Anything around 100 micron is pretty good for a single stage pump anyway, for $60 bucks I am not disappointed. No sign of ceasing or an exploding motor-start capacitor as others have reported yet, but I have only run it for an hour or so.

GREAT!!! I use for many things. It goes to -28 Hg every time. I also use it to de-gas red/white wine, when i use it for that, the pump stays on for a few hours at a time and never has an issue, it blows a little oil smoke, but that's a very common thing with vac pumps, don't be alarmed. Great deal too for $55 bucks!!! I also use it for BHO. Works like a beautiful THC princess.

Works excellent and have already made my money back on it by 3 times what I paid for it just in recharging peoples systems I really bought it just to do my own vehicles but once people found out I had one they started flocking in

I used this to change the condenser on daughters LR2 that had failed. It was able to draw it down to the full -30 in hg and keep pulling for the required 30 minutes with no problems. Fittings on the pump worked good with the gauge fittings. Instructions for the initial setup are a little dangerous. Instructions say after filling with oil to put the exhaust plug on it and remove the inlet cover and run for a few minutes to circulate the oil. This made the exhaust plug shoot out the top of the machine. Luckily I wasn't hovering over it when it happened. I recommend removing the exhaust plug ANY time it is turned on.

So I used a different premium oil (black gold) and was almost 30 in Hg for vacuuming my car Ac! Not too bad for single stage pump. This pump has plugs to keep oil from draining out which is great for transport. Its light and can run for 30 min without overheating which you will need to do if you use this for evacuating an ac unit. Overall great for my needs.

Worked great for my first time auto A/C repair. Filled it with the supplied oil and it was ready to go after i added the not-included adapter to fit my auto A/C lines. Ran it for 45 minutes holding good vacuum the whole time. It was warm of course after but not so hot it was melting plastic or anything. You will need a 1/4 inch flare female x 1/2 inch Acme male to hook it to your auto A/C if that is what you are using it for. I used a FJC 6014 Vacuum Pump Adapter.

I'm making a vacuum bag & needed something in an inexpensive - this is it!! Works well / inexpensive / has an on off switch / comes with it's own oil / large window to see what your oil level is - draws all the air out of a 2' X 4' bag in about a minute and a half - have a small leak somewhere because air creeps back in after about 15 minutes so I'm thinkin' that's 'My Bad' … good product
