Love love love my FlipBelt. I cannot stand arm bands so for the past year, I have been running while holding my phone (I know - awful!) Finally a couple weeks ago, I was running with my coworker and she suggested I get a running belt. Having run a couple half marathons in the past, I have used running belts but they tend to bounce around and just be an annoyance. I happened to stumble on the FlipBelt on Amazon and had to give it a try. It fits my iPhone 7 that has an otterbox on it, and did not budge once during my 6 mile run. At the 4 mile mark, I even tried adjusting it because I thought there's no way this thing is staying in place so well, and it was still in the exact same spot as when I started my run. I also noticed I was able to run faster than usual and I think it's because I was concentrating on holding my phone with its' massive case on it. If you're in between sizes, I suggest going a size down. I am 5'4", 122 pounds and got the Extra Small. I almost got the Small but it would have been a tad too loose. Can't wait to wear this for my upcoming half marathons in the fall!

I wear a size 0-2 pant. I ordered a medium belt. I definitely would not have liked a small. Medium is fitted on my waist, I may have even picked a large if I was able to try on before buying.

On top of all the superlatives other reviewers have used to describe flip belt, I think there are some "best practices" worth mentioning, particularly if you're using it to run outside. I used the belt for the first time today (at a gym, on the treadmill) and stowed my ID and money as far into the seam that I could on the front of my left hip (actually where the keys are supposed to go - see the little hook in the picture). When I returned home and flipped the belt so the openings were facing outward, my cards and money were hovering a little too close to that opening. One reviewer gave the belt one star (maybe two, can't remember) because he/she lost their ID/cards/money on a long distance run - and I'm guessing my experience was about to be similar. I'd argue both instances involve a bit of user error. Larger items (i.e., a phone, keys) are going to withstand movement when the belt is flipped against your body. If you're not taking a jumble of keys, you may want to make sure to use the hook attached directly to the belt. Three of the pockets are comparatively shallower than the fourth, and are better suited for bulkier items (phone, keys, heck, even a small wallet). If you're ONLY putting a plastic card (e.g.,an ID or credit card) into the belt, there is a fourth pocket that's deeper than the other three that ends on the belt's seam. Put your cards THERE. If you're not going to put cards/money into any holder that will create friction, movement will cause those slippery plastic cards to move along the spandex material. Even better, make sure the pocket you insert them in rests somewhere on your front (put the logo on your back)- if they fall, they'll at least hit your leg. Or put your phone/keys to block them. Or....I could go on. Just use common sense if you're putting valuables in this thing. Disclaimer - this may very well be a duplicate some other reviews. I can't claim complete originality - but I will definitely be running outdoors more with the hands free benefits of this thing. Worth every penny.

I was skeptical about this actually staying in place. I carry my weight around my midsection. It stayed in place while running and walking on the road and on the treadmill. I'm trying to lose all my pregnancy weight so I'll update as I lose weight. For reference, I'm 5'6 and wear an 8/10 US size. This belt is a large.

I recently saw this product on after having searched for an iPhone running case. It wasn’t exactly what I was thinking at the time, but as it turns out, it’s even better! After I read more about it, I searched to see if they had their own website, which they did. I then looked around their website to see if they had opportunities to test or review their product, which they did. In exchange for providing me with a FlipBelt of my very own, I agreed to write this review for Level Terrain Apparel. Let me start out by saying that while I was provided with the complimentary FlipBelt, it has no bearing on how I feel about the product itself. I do not possess the standard “runner look.” I do not (and cannot) tuck clothes in. BIG runs in my family, it’s a genetic thing (thanks Mom and Dad). I’m an “up and down” dieter/runner who sometimes – or mostly - eats more than she runs. Therefore, the very last thing in the world I would want to wear while I’m out there running events with professional photographers taking action shots would be something gathering around my waist screaming “look here, look here”. Those waist packs, sport belts, athletic pouches or whatever you might call them - fanny bags – those are like swear words in my book. I would prefer to stick pins in my nice tech shirts rather than wear a simple bib holder for the mere fact that it cinches around that area. When this FlipBelt arrived, the first thing I noticed is that it looks just like the top of my favorite yoga pants – a nice, thick 3-inch band. It’s not a pouch that attaches to a belt; basically the whole thing IS a pouch. There are no zippers, buttons, buckles, nothing. You either put it over your head, or you step into it and adjust it to your waist or your hips, whichever is your preference. It has four little slits in it where you can insert your “stuff” to be carried. And according to the packaging the fabric is: “Wicking, Quick Dry Content: 92% Polyester and 8% Spandex.” I ordered black so that it would blend, but the belt does come in some fabulous colors such as yellow, aqua, pink, orange, green, blue, carbon, purple and maybe some day when I’m thin again, I’ll get the beautiful hot pink or aqua one….. maybe anyway. I ordered a Large, which, according to the package is for a women’s size 10-12, and it fit perfectly. Everything I read claimed that the belt didn’t bounce or move, and while this sounded fabulous, I just couldn’t believe it. Now that I’ve worn the product for a half marathon, let me be yet another person to tell you – THIS THING DOES NOT BOUNCE AND DOES NOT MOVE. You put it on, and that’s where it stays. For most of the event, it rained/drizzled/sprinkled, so the FlipBelt was damp. It doesn’t claim to be waterproof but my iPhone did stay dry, so I was happy with that. I actually talked to someone who has owned one for six months and she told me that the belt has not stretched out at all and is still as snug as mine is brand new. That’s a great piece of information to know because I did wonder how it would hold up. The photo on the left is a professional photo taken at half marathon. Note how the storage belt I was wearing helped make it look like I have a big ole "beer gut" because it's cinched around my waist so tight to keep it from bouncing around. You will never see that other storage belt on me again now since (1) I've seen the photos from that event and (2) I now own the FlipBelt. The photo on the right is from the race last weekend and I know you have to agree how much better it looks! The best part about the FlipBelt for me is the fact that it does not bulk you up around the waist. I don’t even think you can see it, which makes me happy.

I was a little apprehensive to add any bulk to my midsection but this belt works great! It looks like a yoga pant waistband and is very comfortable. My waist is 30" and my hip measurement (which is wear I wanted to wear it) was 38". I ordered the large (32-35"). It fits perfectly and stays in place.

**UPDATE** Still love this product, but I chanced upon a handy tip today. I was headed out to run and it looked like rain. To protect my phone I put it in a zip lock, which still lets me use all the features and touch screen. Lo and behold, it slipped into the flip belt easier than ever! It's a Galaxy S6 and with a cover was sometimes difficult to get in. With this stroke of luck, I'll use a zip lock every time now. If you care to, read the rest of my original post below... LOVE this product! So easy to use and so convenient. You just step into it like putting on a pair of shorts. Once it's in place, it stays in place! Before the FlipBelt, when I went for a run it was a constant hassle trying to decide how to carry things, do I take a key, etc... This solves all those problems. I don't like to have things in my pockets when I run or to other activities. There's a clip to make sure you keys don't come out (I seriously doubt they would anyway). I have a Galaxy 6 in a protective case. No trouble at all sliding it into one of the pouches. I use wireless headphones, but I've used wired headphones with the FlipBelt and that works just fine, too. Best of all, it's like running with NOTHING to distract you. Before the FlipBelt, it seems like I was always looking for a better arm band, fanny pack, etc... to carry my phone. I was always fighting the arm band or at least noticing it. Once I get my run started and everything secured in my FlipBelt, it's like I'm running with nothing. The first time or two slipping my phone into the belt was a little frustrating because it's made in such a way that there's no way your phone's coming out. Once I got used to how to use it, it's awesome! It's comfortable enough I will use it as a money/wallet pouch on vacation to keep my belongings out of my pockets and away from pickpockets. I highly recommend this product and would buy it again.

I just received this last week. I am planning to use it for the Subaru Distance Classic and took it out for a test run this morning (13.11 mile run). Here is my experience: Fit: I ordered a medium. I am 6' tall and have a 31-32 inch waist and it fit perfect. I am glad I didn't order a large. The medium is for waists 28-32. I hardly knew it was there. But a larger one would probably have been loose and bounce. Use: I ran with an iPhone6 in a life proof case, a small bag of chews and a gel packet. All fit fine and I hardly knew they were there. Feel: it was secure as I ran. The phone was snug in the belt, and did not bounce. I was able to slip the phone in and out while running, but once in there it was secure. Again, the belt didn't bounce around and this is important for a long run. Effects: after running I had no red marks, no chaffing and zero issues. I wore it over my waist band, and under my shirt. You could not see it was there and I honestly forgot I was wearing it at times. I love the product. I'm glad I ordered it and it will be perfect for my long runs. My only issue (and it's a very small one) is the color. I ordered red and it looks more pink. I don't care, but that is the only thing that had any variance from what I thought I was getting. It's not like it's hot pink, it was just slightly different than I expected. Overall, I recommend this belt. If you are a runner and looking to carry things while you run this is perfect. I could easily have put keys, money and IDs or credit cards in there along with my phone and chews, and it would have been great.

This may sound like hyperbole, but this thing is truly amazing. I tried getting back into running early this year, but trying to carry my phone and a key made it very problematic. Having them in your pocket is uncomfortable, those horrible arm bands are just the absolute worst. Fanny packs are clunky and bounce around. This thing totally changed my life. (Again, sounds like hyperbole, but I swear it is not). I have since gotten so into running that I run about 20 miles per week and I've lost probably 40-50 lbs. It's so comfortable you forget it's there. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

Before, I used an armband, iPod Nano 5G, with wired headphones, and carried my keys with me while running. I thought I had a pretty good system - I silently mocked the people wearing their phablets on their sleeve. But the FlipBelt was a game changer for me. Now, I'm able to store my phone and keys in the small of my back and use bluetooth headphones. No wires. No more armband. No more keys to carry. Pure liberation. I bought two -- a medium and a large -- to see which size. I'm a 31" natural waist, 38" hips, and generally wear 33/34 waist pants. The larger size works well when wearing closer to the hips (i.e. wearing at the top of your pants/shorts), while the smaller size works well when wearing around the natural waist. I'm a male and when running I generally prefer wearing the smaller size around the natural waist (FlipBelt under a shirt), with items stored in the back, as it tended to feel a little more snug and secure (not to mention no jostling from activated glutes). However, if the FlipBelt will be visible as in the top of your pants, wearing closer to the hips would be a better option. I have yet to encounter a situation where my phone or keys moved during a run. I always flip the belt so that the crease is on the inside. The belt is intended to be tight to the body. The FlipBelt accommodates an iPhone 7 Plus, although it does need to stretch a bit. The price seems high if you think of it as an adapted Fanny Pack, but I think that is short-changing it. It really is a fitness garment -- something that you can throw in the wash -- that has an extremely useful function. I don't mind paying $20-$30 for a good pair of shorts or shirt, and don't mind paying that price for this belt.
