Works well, but understand why you would or wouldn't need a voltage converter
First, let me clear up some misperceptions that I see being posted here: Smart phones, tablets, laptops, and even battery chargers for digital cameras do not require a voltage converter. All you need is an adapter to plug into a foreign outlet (and it's becoming pretty common for hotels and airports to have universal outlets). There are few electronic devices that you are likely to travel with that require a voltage converter — and some like a hair drier should not be used with the BESTEK converter. What I use the converter for is my electric toothbrush which will not work with 220-240. There are universal charging bases, but I was having a hard time ordering one so I just went with this. I've used the BESTEK on multi-week trips all over the world to keep my toothbrush charged. Never had any problems.

Great little converter - Big on Performance!!
This small compact device works great!! Used it in both Brazil and Kabul - absolutely no issues what-so-ever. The included adaptors provide some choices for overseas adaptability, but being a simple 2-prong European plug, it will virtually plug into any travel adaptor you may already own. It has a hum to it due to the built in fan but not loud by any means. It allows up to 3 devices to be plugged in to it and can also accommodate 4 USB devices (2 outlets at 2.1A and 2 outlets at 1a). I do wish it had of came with a carry case box, but, not a deal breaker. I just kept the original box and I pack the whole thing into my carry-on luggage. It has never felt warm to the touch and mine has been plugged in for 2 months straight!!!! The power switch is a tad close to the USB ports so I guess it's possible to accidentally turn it off as I saw another reviewer write; for me Absolutely no problems at all:-) I'm thrilled with the purchase and performance. If you use it for its intended purpose I can only imagine you'll get years of great service from it:-) Oh, almost forgot, the weight is very light, less than a 12-ounce airport bottle of water.

Lets You Plug 110 V U.S. Electronic Devices into European and Asian 220 V Outlets
Works as advertised. Takes US 110 V and European/Asian 220 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Has multiple adapters. Needed because those cheaper adapters do not transform voltage from 110 V to 220 V or vice versa. The adapters that do not transform voltage are for things like electric shavers or laptop computers that usually can accept both 110 V or 220 V (check manufacturer instructions on unit or instructions). Even though those items can accept European or Asian 220 V, they will not be able to plug into many outlets in Europe or Asia because many countries in those continents use circular/cylindrical prongs, rather than the vertical flat prongs used in the U.S. To plug a U.S. electronic device requiring 110 V, you will need a transformer to convert 220 V to 110 V, and you will also need the adapter so the transformer device can plug into the European or Asian cylindrical outlet holes. Then you plug your U.S. device into the transformer device that has the vertical flat outlet holes. Also takes USB to charge cell phones. Yes, it does look good too. It has an internal fan to cool things off, and an on/off switch. Well made, and has a beautiful glossy black finish.

Best traveling power converter out there!
--------------- 2018, 2 year update: I've now been using this for about 2 years. In addition to the previous Italy trip, I've used it overseas in China, Iceland, and Grand Cayman as well as numerous times locally. I had a little trouble in China finding an appropriately powered outlet to run a curling iron but did manage it. Otherwise this thing has kept chugging along with no issues. Phones, camera batteries, AA chargers, even hooked up a pico projector & raspberry pi game system and it handled everything! ----------------- Original review: I purchased this bad boy specifically for my trip to Italy in late September. Between my traveling partner and me, we had quite a few different devices that needed power at some point and this worked flawlessly I used the standard power input twice and stuck mainly to the 2amp USB ports while my traveling partner used a curling iron plus what I had. At no time did it disappoint. I also used this in the airport when people were hogging the power switches (plug this and the US adapter in and a few of you can charge at the same time) and the other person (plus a couple of others) were grateful for the extra spots. Yes, there is a fan onboard and it does make noise (less that a standard oscillating fan) but it's a small price to pay for consistent, reliable, and a variety of power options. I tried some Teflon wax lubricant and that helped for a day or two but wore off. Still, no big deal. I've tried a few different power adapters and they usually switch off/on as they run into spotty electricity but this kept up. Coincidentally a couple we met up with had the same thing (different brand but clearly the same unit) and loved theirs.

Mandatory Item to Protect Your Electronics!
A must for World travel! Adapters alone will not do the trick, you can fry your electronics without a voltage regulator. Comes with 3 unmarked adapters. BUT my photo shows it with the "Ceptics GP-12PK International Travel Worldwide Grounded Universal Plug Adapter Set" (12 Pieces). I was delighted to discover that they ALL FIT this voltage regulator...and THEY are LABELED. Both items arrived from Amazon quickly on the same day. I bought the white set and was able to mark actual countries on them for speedy reference. NOTE: the voltage regulator comes with a nice velvety travel pouch & the labeled adapter set I recommend to go with it fits perfectly into the box the regulator arrived in...Nice! I can now travel anywhere I wish without worrying about my equipment!

BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT
Alright, alright~ I'm back to give you an update~ So this thing buzzes quietly and is bulky but light! I was very worried it was going to break within the first two weeks so I brought a back up from a different brand and company that was 2 times this price. BUT I PLUGGED IN MY BACK UP AND IT EXPLODED! FULL UP CAUGHT ON FIRE AND THIS ONE BY BESTEK IS AMAZING! I am living in South Korea for one year and this one has yet to fail me. It's amazing. I will use this one forever. (Technically until I leave Korea.) At first I was going to return this one cause so many people from the store I bought the other one from "Complained" that this one wouldn't work and would fail. But they were wrong. Not only did theirs explode and catch on fire they refused to give me a refund because I couldn't send it back with in three days (I'm in Korea. It'll take a while.) and since it was "Damaged" I couldn't return it. But please buy BESTEK if you're traveling to a different country. It's amazing. I plug my laptop, phone, camera, portable charger, ect into it and it keeps on going. By the end of my year I'll give you an update.

Great Voltage Converter!
I bought this unit for a vacation to Italy. It's outstanding. Performed flawlessly. The multiple plugs and USB ports were very handy for charging all our devices. There is a bit of fan noise, as some reviewers note. For that reason, we set it up in the bathroom instead of in the room. It isn't loud, but it isn't silent. Depending on your hearing and awareness, this may or may not be an issue. But remember, this is a transformer, and transformers do put out heat. Hence the fan. Also, while the output of this unit is respectable, I wouldn't ask it to power your 1500 watt hair dryer. You'll probably blow the fuse or fry the unit. These devices are made for low to moderate power draw. If in doubt, look at the plate on your device. It will tell you the power draw. And remember, P = iV. All that in mind, this converter kept our iPads, phones, and camera batteries charged and ready to go for our Italian adventure. The standard plug worked in Italy. There are three conversion plugs for other countries.

This converter has got to be the BEST !!!
I bought this item because I was headed to the Middle East (Israel). This worked GREAT !!! The plug needed is on the end of the cord and I was able to charge my camera batteries, two phones AND used my heating pad, ALL at the same time !!!! No problems and no issues. Phones charged nicely via USB port or electrical plug. This item was a necessity and I'm SO happy. I bought another converter just for my heating pad and it was defective and started melting the plastic control item on the cord !!! I quickly unplugged it and, still in need of a heating pad, I decided to try later to plug it into this converter. The heating pad still worked and I was SO grateful !!!! My roommate on this trip forgot to bring a converter so she was able to charge her phone on here as well. I can't say enough about this amazing product !!!!

Flawless Performance; Tips for Testing Before Your Trip
We ordered this product in advance of a 2.5 week to New Zealand - a trip where we would be traveling all over both the North and South Islands. The product performed flawlessly. With 3 plug outlets and 4 USB ports, we had plenty of capacity at all times. Of importance when traveling internationally is the size of the product. The box for the product (with cords and converter pieces to deal with the demands of different countries) is only 6 x 3 x1.6 inches. The product is solidly built and the cord that goes in the wall is heavy duty. The ease of use is first rate. I saw another review, giving one star, of a purchaser (D. Rees) who said "It isn't easy to test this before such a trip....who has a foreign outlet here in the US?...not I." That purchaser reported the unit did not work at all. We had no trouble testing the unit before we left (we also traveled to New Zealand) as you do not need a foreign outlet to test it. You plug it into the wall here in the U.S. and turn it on. You then plug in a device to see if the charging function works. The only part of the product you cannot test in the U.S. is the single piece that plugs into the wall in the foreign country and that piece is a pass-through, i.e., it has no moving parts and, even if that part failed when you got to your foreign destination, you could replace it easily. Another one star reviewer complained that the "the cooling fan came on immediately." The fan operates continuously as part of its standard operation and is not a sign that something is wrong. That reviewer then reported something that was, in fact, a problem, i.e., "a loud pop came from the converter and sparks and smoke exited the converter." That reviewer (Mark) was careful to share exactly what was plugged into the converter so it was clear that he had not exceeded the converter's stated capacity. Perhaps the best guideline is to, one, buy the product in plenty of time to allow time to test the product well as we did, including load testing it with the devices you intend to us on the trip. That should reveal any defects with the product in a timely fashion, thereby allowing you time to resolve the problem with BESTEK.
