First of all I read some of the reviews and decided to season the pot first, I cleaned it with dish soap then I filled it with water boiled it for 20 min. I didn't have any residue in the water. The next day I made homemade spaghetti sauce and it was perfect. I was actually able to touch the handles while cooking and the lid handle was cool to the touch. I do a lot of canning this is perfect and reasonably priced.

Very good buy. Was skeptical about this stockpot, for the price I expected a much lighter weight steel even though the description stated 18-10. This stockpot is worth every inexpensive penny, not easily dented, well made. The glass lid is a plus for me, no need to remove it to see if the temperature is accurate for simmering or for higher or lower heat. Lid is also vented so as to avoid boiling over incidents although if the pot were really full, pasta would probably still bubble enough to go over the sides. Handles have slip/heat resistant covers.

This is a well made pot. Heavy duty. I followed instructions from manufacturer & a review I saw on here on how to clean & prep pot for cooking. The pot is a great addition for anyone who likes to cook! Perfect for making big batches of bone broth etc.

I've been making a lot of soups this season, but ran into the issue where my 6-quart pot was either juuuust big enough (and the soup would boil over) or far too small (think 10 quarts, or multiple pounds of spaghetti). I think this 12-quart stockpot is a little overkill for my needs, since everything I've thrown at it has fit with plenty of space, but I'd rather have it for those few times I actually do want to cook 12 quarts of something. The handles have nice rubbery grips so it's never too hot to pick up. The lid is clear glass so you can see inside, with a helpful built-in vent to let steam out. Since it's steel, it's a lot cheaper than the ceramic options that are out there, too. Whenever I need to make chili or beef stew on game day, this is the pot I break out. No complaints after using it every 2-3 weeks for the last several months.

I've only used it to cook twice now, one time to make chill and the other for soup. But I've loved it. Both times, I was able to store my leftovers in the pot in the fridge, and the lid really keeps it from drying out too fast, so to reheat, I just put the pot back on the stove, good to go. I know almost nothing about cooking but I know this will be better than what I had before which were these cheap "nonstick" pans that had gotten sticky and gross because they were so hard to clean. I wipe this one with a sponge a little, rinse, and that's it. I'm also glad I'm not ingesting little bits of teflon in everything anymore. The one I got was very big. I don't need that much since I'm mostly just using it for myself, but it'd be great for any situation where you're serving multiple guests. So yeah, it's bigger, it has a lid, and it's easier to clean than the pot I was using before.

I previously had an aluminum 22 qt stock pot with steamer insert that we bought at the super mercado for making tamales and soups, etc. it ended up pitted and with small holes on the sides after just two years. I am so glad I got this new pot. I wasn't sure how it would be compared how fast and light the aluminum was, but it was definitely the same or better. It has a slight more weight to it because its ss, but that's fine because I am not worried about holes now! The bottom is very thick and doesn't appear that it will get dented or scratched as easy as my old one did. Now I need to find this pot in 40 qt to replace my other aluminum stock pot! I wish this one came with a steamer insert so I could make tamales, but I will figure something else out and make it work. I have a large oblong center (5th) burner on my gas stove, and this was big enough to cover the whole burner which made heating up my contents (made pozole mexican soup so far) evenly and quickly. The stainless is easy to clean and resists scratching, even with my metal ladle. The glass top(which I love that I can see thru) has a vent hole, but still creates a nice seal and sits in a little recessed area along the top of the rim of the pot which prevents boil over. Will buy again but I don't think I will need to for a very long time!

I bought two of these primarily for water bath canning. They have performed exceptionally well so far. They work flawlessly on my glass top electric stove and I've also used them outside on my propane camping stove. The heat distribution is great either way and I love the flexibility of canning wherever I want now. I was concerned with other reviews citing holes in the metal or shattered lids. Thankfully I haven't experienced either of these issues, and I've used these HARD over the last month, putting up about 100 jars so far. I've also used them as stock pots, making gigantic batches of homemade chili and spaghetti sauce, and they worked perfectly and were easy to clean up. So far, no complaints whatsoever and I'm extremely happy I upgraded to these). I may even purchase a third one so I can have one for the food and two ready for bottling it.

We bought this pot in January of 2019, over a year and a half ago at this writing. Truthfully, we hesitated to buy it because of the inexpensive price. We needn't have worried. This pot has been as perfect a pot as a pot can be. About every three weeks, we cook up a huge vat of vegetable stew. Afterwards we carry this very heavy concoction to the garage refrigerator to cool. This pot has sturdy covered handles that haven't come loose and protect against the heat. The best feature of this pot is that the thick stew DOESN'T BURN on the bottom, like the flimsy aluminum pot that was its predecessor. With that old pot, if we didn't constantly stir, the vegetables would quickly glom on to the bottom and if we let it go a little longer without stirring, there would be an inch or two of burned veggies that would ruin the taste of the entire batch of veggie stew. That happened more than once, and after all the prep of chopping and slicing, the veggie stew was a terrible thing to waste. Not a problem with this pot! We haven't had any burned veggies since we bought this pot. The mirror finish is still sparkling and unscratched, the clear glass lid is vented so it can stay on the pot without cracking the lid open. The dimensions of this pot are just what we wanted. We put it through the test and it passed with an A+.

In the midst of canning season, I got tired of the constant rust on my old blue canners and their racks. I ordered this Cook N Home stainless pot and a stainless steel rack to go in it. It arrived while we were canning salsa and pickles. We immediately put it to work beside one of the blue canners. Right off we noticed that on our flat ceramic cooktop, this Cook N Home pot brought the water to boil faster than the ridge-bottom blue canner. We love the glass see-through lid so you can monitor the boiling. An no rust anywhere afterwards! This pot is sturdy and easy to clean. I love it and will probably buy a second one as I often use two canners at a time. The rack I bought is Victorio VKP1056 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039PMJW0. The pot lid does not seal completely when the rack is raised, but once the rack is lowered for processing the lid sets on the rim.

I make large batches of home made stews every once in a while. I needed a new large stock pot. I knew I wanted Stainless steel, almost went with a couple others but changed my mind after reading reviews of them being kind of light/cheap. I came across this one and decided to take a chance and purchase it, hard to really tell quality till you can hold something in your hands. When it arived and I examined it, I knew I got a good one. It is very nice, looks great and is nice and solid. Does not feel cheap at all. I really like it. Very high polished shine on the outside. I have already made a batch of stew with it. An all day cook, worked great, no discolorations or anything (NOTE: it is a good Idea to clean your new pots very well with hot water and soap, this removes any remaining machining oil that may remain on the stainless steel from the manufacturing process, the oils on the steel can cause discoloration when you heat the pot up, giving blue or rainbow color stains, if this happens you can use stainless steel cleaner to buff this out, but giving a good wash before you use it is a better way to prevent this) Very happy with this purchase. Good pot, I am sure it will last me a long time.
