Outstanding!
I've been using Pasta Fasta for a couple years when I came across these. I thought I'd try it out, and for the most part I love it! The Pasta Fasta has the measuring holes in the lid, which are very handy. This one has circles 'drawn' on the bottom, which isn't nearly as handy. The water level markers are a bit hard to see, but they're a good guide. This one has the strainer built onto it, rather than as a separate lid like Pasta Fasta, which makes it easier to use and less likely to become useless should something go missing. The dishwasher doesn't seem to care about this, as it cleans it just fine. I can't recommend these over Pasta Fasta, as they both seem pretty awesome in their own right. Highly Recommend!

Best looking, and most practical rice cooker around
Best microwave cooker ever! I’m not a fan of microwave rice cooking, but this one has changed my mind. I’ve found most are cheaply made and are always one the brink of melting. Not this one. Seems to be made of durable plastic (or whatever), the inserted sieve is a bonus and make rinsing rice, beans, potatoes, whatever much easier and thorough. Perfect size for my cabinet and convenient lid w/secure spoon - so it doesn’t get misplaced. It’s contemporary looking and I love it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS RICE COOKER
Saw this microwave rice cooker on tv, decided to give it a try because my rice never comes out right. Used it the first time with packaged spanish rice with the seasoning....after putting it in, I kinda freaked out because I was afraid the yellow saffron would stain the cooker.....SURPRISE, no stain AND perfect rice! I have used it at least once a week, perfect rice everytime and truly easy clean up. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE JOSEPH JOSEPH MICROWAVE RICE COOKER. If I could give it a million stars, I would!

You don't realize you need one until you have one. Then you can't live without one.
Love love love this awesome M-Cuisine microwave rice cooker by Joseph Joseph. I have been a fan of JJ's product design for a long time and have owned a few of their products. But this little microwave rice cooker was a curiosity buy. Saw it on Amazon and thought...This could be neat if it works. Being Chinese, cooking rice in a microwave is not a new concept. In Asia, there's plenty of single serving microwave rice packages sold in every grocery store. But when I saw this on my Amazon suggestions, I was instantly intrigued. The M-Cuisine microwave rice cooker worked perfectly. I really appreciate the attention to details with this product design. How this work: -measure the amount of rice desire for your cooking with the provided measuring cup per the cooking instruction fold out. -wash your rice with the inner black pot which also serves as a strainer so you can wash your rice and then put it back into the main pot. The inner strainer pot also has a folding handle that folds down perfectly in place. -empty all water from the inner pot strainer. Leave the cleaned wet rice inside the inner pot. -add water (refer to the ratio of water to rice portion formula in cooking instruction) -place inner pot/strainer into the larger white pot. -place the cover over the main white pot. -place the spatula over the cover, align and twist the spatula clockwise into the open slotted area of the main pot. The spatula also helps defuse the steam from shooting upward inside the microwave. The hole for the steam on the cover is aligned directly under the spatula which helps redirect the pressure of the steam sideways (horizontally vs vertically). This helps keeps the inside of the microwave nice and clean...Genius! -place pot inside microwave. -microwave cooking time for 1 cup of rice is 15 mins. Please note, the pot is extremely hot after cooking so make sure to use proper heat-resistant oven mitts. Also, the steam during the cooking process will create a very thin white film over your cover (looks a bit like a thin layer of dried white elmers glue on your hand). At first glance, it will look like your cover has been ruined from the heat of the microwave. But don't panic. This is normal thanks to the genius placement of the spatula. You can easily clean this off with a damp towel and the cover will look beautiful again. This is a fantastic and must have cookware for any kitchen. You don't really need one if you have a rice cooker, but it is so convenient to cook rice with the M-Cuisine microwave rice cooker. This really is a game changer. Everything you need is all contained into one unit. I really appreciate that. Another plus having this microwave rice cooker is you can bring this over to a friends place who doesn't have a rice cooker. With this little guy, you can have freshly cooked rice for 2-3 guests in 15 mins. Easy peasy. This really is a game changer. You don't realize you need one until you have one. Then you can't live without one.

This is a game changer!!
I hoped this would work because I love all the JosephJoseph products that I have purchased. Well, it's amazing! I've purchased 2 other types of microwave pasta cookers-they were a disaster. Neither worked at all-mushy pasta, etc. I used this last night for the first time-it worked perfectly. I made approx. 3 servings of cavatappi and all that was required was the pasta and water. Popped it in the microwave and didn't touch it again for 13 minutes. When I checked the pasta it was perfectly cooked and I just dumped the water out-done! No waiting for a large pot of water to boil (and boil over!), no checking the pasta while the water keeps boiling (ouch!), no straddling a basset hound with a huge pot of hot water to dump it out in the sink, no strainer, no mess on the stovetop, and only one easily cleaned cooking item. WOW! Pasta more often now! Of course, still need to have a big pot for crowds since this only does 4 servings but that's ok with me!!

Really pleased with this pot
This is a go-to microwave pot. Cutting down on cooking with fat. Made meatloaf in it tonight. built it in the bottom and cooked it on the sieve, letting grease drip into the bottom. The lid kept the steam in. A pound of ground meat, 6 min. in a 1000 watt micro. Moist. Store the remainder right in the frig. Really pleased with this pot. My brother likes it, too.

Review for Pasta Maker!
This is a terrific product, especially for one person. I put 1 cup of dry spiral pasta noodles in the cooker and filled it to the line 2 with water. Let it cook for 12 minutes in the microwave. It turned out perfect! I heated 1 pouch of of Simmer Tomato Cooking Sauce, in the microwave (purchased here on Amazon). Absolutely delicious meal in 12 minutes. All cooked in the microwave. Couldn't have been easier or tasted better! I'll be using it for all types of pasta. By the way there was no problem of boil over. This was so much easier than cooking pasta on the stove or in the hot pot. Great for one or two servings.

One solid peace of high quality material for a safer and sturdy design
This item was a dream to use! I have used other types on microwave pasta cookers before and this one beats them in several ways. The main advantage this one has over all the rest is the inbuilt strainer, while most have lids with straining holes the lids are most often of a softer plastic that distorts from heat after a few uses becoming more and more difficult to put on and use as a strainer. This unit is one solid peace of high quality material that makes for a safer straining process and the sturdy design makes moving the unit in and out of your microwaves much easier, especially with a lipped edge that makes gripping the item when full of boiled water very easy. As with all microwave cookers don’t believe the advertised cooking times on the product box. Always follow the cooking times written on the pasta package, make sure to stir in the middle to ensure the pasta doesn’t stick together. I usually use boiling water from my kettle but this is not require just add an extra 2 minutes if you are starting with cool water.

Worth paying more for this one
It's the most expensive microwave rice cooker I tried, but it works the best too. My dogs keep chewing these things up, but I'll definitely keep this one away from them. I use it with the strainer always in place, regardless what I'm cooking. For rice, I do the same as with all others, and use about 2.25 times as much water as rice. This is the only rice cooker I've used where I didn't need a plate under it to catch water. Any extra water is under the strainer still inside the cooker, but there usually isn't any. I kind of miss extra water though because it's good for sauces. The rice and food come out perfectly as seems to be the case for me with all the microwave rice cookers, but this one just feels better. I mean the material feels better and more flexible/sturdy. I've used it with and without the spoon locking the top and I'm not sure there's any difference. The only thing I don't like about this one is that I need to use a knife or fork to get the lid off, hooking through one of the vent holes. There's no way to grab the tiny knob in the middle of the lid after cooking because it becomes slippery.

Simple, well executed product.
I've used this probably half a dozen times now, and have really only found 1 thing I'm not a huge fan of. The teensy nub at the top of the lid is kind of a pain in the butt to grab when the cooker is hot. Aside from that (very small) complaint this rice cooker is great. I had my Pampered Chef microwave rice cooker for probably 15 years when it finally failed, and was looking into buying a standalone appliance. I'm glad I didn't. This little guy does a great job, the instructions are clear and easy to understand, and the interior basket makes washing rice a breeze.
