Another quality toy find this great company the best part is that it is well tuned and much like a normal xylophone so it is fun to have the primary notes that you need to be able to play basically any nursery rhyme I play five instruments myself and I am a composer so as you can imagine I had a lot of fun with the girls and have played with us more than they have even care to pick it up daddy

Great toy

Better than spected. Sturdy materials, great colors. My son plays with this toy everyday and he likes it a lot. It’s great. The only thing to be careful about is that is very heavy so you have to pay extra attention while Your baby is using it.

Loved by both of my kids!

This xylophone is an incredible product. Not only is it made with high quality wood and metal, it provides endless entertainment for my kids ages 3.5 and 1.5. I’m actually quite surprised by the fact that my three year old enjoys playing with the xylophone as I originally intended it for my younger child. There is a wide arrray of xylophones to choose from, however I feel this one surpasses the quality of most others out there. Also, the little sticks are stored inside the caterpillar and look like cute little ears. This helps me not worry about misplacing the sticks and/or having a place to store them.

Life long customer

This is a great toy that my son has enjoyed for countless hours. The manufacturer was just as great. Recently he had lost one of the mallets so I reached out to manufacturer Melissa & Doug to see if purchasing a replacement was possible. I received a prompt reply that they would check availability and get back to me. A few days later I was notified that they would be sending me a replacement set at no charge. The experience definitely left me a life long customer of Melissa & Doug.

Change of opinion

I had a bad product (half the notes wouldn't resonate) but knowing that Melissa and Doug is a good company, I thought I'd give them a chance to respond. After all, they have a 1800 number on the back in bold. The person I talked to couldn't have been nicer. After having me play the xylophone over the phone she agreed with me that not all the notes played right, and they went ahead and sent me another. Kudos to Melissa and Doug, and yes, I would buy this at again, in a heartbeat!

This was a win win for my 18 months old son . I love the card that it comes with it helps with motor shills and hand and eye coordination and it’s very playable . It’s sturdy enough for drops and falls which is great because toddlers like to run around alot and may drop it.

Beautiful sound! I bought this for my 11 month ...

Beautiful sound! I bought this for my 11 month old And she learned pretty quickly how to use the mallet to make sound on the xylophone and loves playing with it. The mallets are a little dangerous for a baby so direct and constant supervison would be needed. I think when she’s older she will like this toy even more.

Great toy but a warning when buying it for young babies!

Purchased this for my 9 month old son. He is in a phase of LOVING to hit and bang things and he took to this right away. He quickly understand th mallets and how to create sounds. Also really enjoys watching us play music on this. Some days I think my husband likes this even more than our little one! One note of warning, this is technically a toy for at least a 36 month old. My sense is that is because of the mallets. They are pretty narrow (could choke on or poke himself in the eye) and easily turned into a weapon when our little one gets really into banging them. We do not allow him to play with this without keeping a close eye on him.

A classic addition to your toy collection!

This Melissa & Doug toy is well made and is surviving toddler handling very well! I love the way the hand pieces store in the bottom of the toy! All the keys are marked we with appropriate letters. The music card is great reference. This is not a professional instrument, but allows a creative musical expression from children of many ages.

Perfect gift for baby’s first birthday

The toy is for ages 3 and up, but with parental supervision, our 12 month old has a blast striking the xylophone with the mallets. Parents interested in playing music would enjoy this toy as well since the xylophone keys all sound different as you move through the scale, so playing real music on it is possible. This is a good quality product. If you want your child to explore music at his or her leisure, this xylophone is ideal without breaking the bank.
