Beautiful tank, definitely worth the price

We bought this tank after having some bad experiences with a 3.5 gallon. It is a beautiful tank, and came with everything it said it would come with along with instructions. Nothing is broken. The one problem with it is that there are holes in the lid (one for a feeding hole and two pop out pieces for filters) that cannot be covered up. We have cats and they like to stick their paws in the water, so that is potentially problematic. To fix this, we hot glued the pop out pieces to the tank to cover the hole made by the filter and we glued the feeding door from our old tank over the feeding hole. All of the pieces included worked, including the heater. We thought it was broken at first because the red light turned on and then off instead of red and then green, but it turns out that the red light turns off when it is finished heating instead of turning green. The plants included are plastic and not very colorful, but they are very big and were a nice addition to the tank. Overall, we were very satisfied with this tank for the price it came at. Another small issue is that I think it is a little less than a 20 gallon tank judging by its measurements, but that isn't a major deal.

Great tank

Great tank! I needed something bigger for my fish and couldn't get a reasonably priced setup around here. Found this and am very pleased. It arrived quickly and in great shape. The only things I added were gravel (I used about 25 lbs.) , a bigger air pump, an air stone, some large filter carbon cartridges, and a background (I got one for a 20 gallon tank and trimmed it to size). I already had an insert that I transferred from my other, smaller tank. There are plenty of artificial plants in the kit for a start up and adding the background really "fills" it up. Make sure you have a very sturdy base to set this on as it is very heavy with the water and gravel!

ColorFusion tank

We have bought 2 tanks and returned both (one was from Walmart and the other Petsmart) bc either the caulking was done poorly or the tank looked like it was put together poorly. This tank is wonderful!! There are 3 different versions you can get and we chose to go with the "Colorfusion" version bc it was the only one we could find that had a review along with picture that clearly stated it was this version. I wish other reviews would've come with clearly stated versions of the tank they bought. The tank is made well (glass whereas acrylic tanks scratch easily), caulking is clear so if they globbed too much it's not noticeable unlike the black caulking used for a lot of tanks. The filter is quiet, and the water heater heats our tank perfectly to 78 degrees for our tropical fish. We did notice it worked better if placed further down in the middle of the water level vs placing it too high up. We ended up buying a submerging thermometer for our tank bc we didn't know if the stick on one would be accurate. Both seem to be matching up though. The light on the color fusion changes to different colors-blue, green, purple, etc which was a nice touch. You put the button to start or stop the color changing, or hold button down to turn light completely off. We chose to keep it to one color bc of how it brought out our fish colors. The decorative piece on the pink stones came with our tank along with other artificial green plants that we chose to keep out of the tank-very nice touch. Also comes with net, sample fish food, and sample water purifying solution. Would purchase this time again and recommend for others.

love this tank!

i love the size of this and how it comes with so many things, but tgere are a couple drawbacks. First, the kid is VERY flimsy. Cheaply made and bends easily. The clips that clip it to the back of the tank were quite difficult to snap on and took several minutes to accomplish. I've seen other people complain about the filter being noisy and not working - you have to press HARD for the tube thing to go all the way into the slot. Once you do and it has snapped into place it will work properly and will be silent. However, based on other reviews on how inadequate the filter is I decided to switch over to my previous AquaClear 30 filter that I've always liked. The stick - on thermometer doesn't always show the temp for some reason but I'm not too worried about that since I have a glass thermometer I am using as well. Overall I really like this tank!

The FISH LOVE IT!

This is Midnight (shorter tail) and Sunrise (longer tail). They were "given to us" Goldfish, from some clients, who are downsizing their household. My son has always wanted fish, and they came in a free five and half gallon aquarium with a filter and some rocks.... but they are nearly 4 inches each. I thought they needed something bigger and so did my son, Phinn. We moved them, and their new friend Mr. Algae Eater into this 20 gallon tetra tank and it is located at the foot of my son's bed so he can watch them at night. We have not added all their accessories yet, because we just finished adding the water last night at 8:30 and it was bed time. The fish are doing great, not because I know much about fish, but because this company has gone above and beyond with expertise and advise on how to give them the best transition and home possible. So, two free Gold Fish later, they are super happy, we are super happy, everything works perfectly. My son is so happy to have his own pets (he is nearly nine and this is a BIG DEAL). I can't say enough about the company that sold this. They are great and so helpful and really nice about all my probably silly fish questions. We have lots of pets, but they all have fur, so this is completely new to us. Thank you for everything. Midnight and Sunrise thank you too!

Great first tank!

Bought this tank to go in our non-working fireplace. Perfect fit with the flat top/option to not use clips. Bought a 25 lb bag of black gravel to copy the look of the product picture and added a divider to separate some of our aggressive betas. Filter is quiet. Changing light colors are nice. Super easy to assemble.

As a starter kit, it doesn't get much simpler or cost efficient.

I've had fish before. Growing up my mom and I always kept a 55 gallon tank. However, now that I'm an adult I wasn't quite ready for such a responsibility yet I also wasn't satisfied with my single, beautiful betta in a 2.5 gallon tank. So to Amazon I go and find this gem. Real glass, arrived perfectly packaged, intact and on time. I use real plants and this tank provides plenty of room for a good layer of aqua soil and many plants and ample light to grow them. The unobtrusive heater keeps the water at a steady 76° And my gourami's and Cory cats are happy as clams. My only suggestion would be to buy anther filter of the same kind offered in this kit. Extra filtration always helps and it comes with a cut out spot for an ext a filter.

It's an aquarium. Not huge but big enough, you can put many different fish in it. I personally love it. I had an aquarium growing up that was the same size, but haven't had one in 20 years. This is a great one to get back in the game. Here are my initial impressions, and I will also leave some highly recommended upgrades to get you started. It's came securely packaged. Working for a few years in distribution, I am fine with how it was packaged and don't get the issue that some people complain about. It comes with a lot of nice little extras. Water treatment, thermometer, fishnet, fish food...every little thing you can think of to get started. If you are thinking of getting an aquarium, I would definitely start with this one. Now, bad things. Sorry, but I have to do this. It comes with an nonadjustable thermostat. It heats to about 74 -76 degree range, so this will be the very first part replaced. But it also doesn't come with an underwater filter and air diffuser of any kind. I know that the filter it comes with naturally diffuses air back into the water, but....personal preference. So here are the upgrades that I think you should add to your cart before you purchase this item. Start off by buying an undergravel, filter. This one fits perfectly Lee's 15/20 Original Undergravel Filter, 12-Inch by 24-Inch You will need tubing and an air pump for it. I went with this Air Pump. Rated for 40 gallons...should be great for an upgrade Tetra 77853 Whisper Air Pump, 40-Gallon You can never have too much tubing, so I added this also PENN PLAX Standard Airline Tubing Air Pump Accessories, 25-Feet and gravel Glofish Aquarium Gravel, Black with Fluorescent Highlights, 5-Pound Bag 2 bag minimum...I messed up and just bought 1 bag. It didn't even cover the bottom with a thin layer. 2 would work, I think, but I went ahead and just placed an order for an extra 2 that will give me a total of 3. An Air Manifold Hang on 4 Way Air Pump Manifold Valve Taps REMOVABLE for 4/6mm tubing line tube and some sort of background decor other than that, all you really need is a better heater. Temperature control is probably one of the most important things you can do for your fish beside feeding them. I just ordered this EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300W then just add fish, and you will be really happy.

The filter DOES work. Just push hard.

Everything I wanted in a new tank. I got the color fusion which is nice because you can pause on whatever color you want it to stay on. Only downfall was the plants that came are lame. I bought some nice bright plants and blue gravel and this tank looks sweet! Filter has a lot of mixed reviews about it not working. It works!!! Make sure you push it down all the way (very hard), felt like I could break it actually. Snapped into place and started working instantly. Quiet too. Good overall value I believe and the kids love this tank with the awesome colors.
