• Focus the sharpest way - From less than an inch to infinity, you get easy focus control on a Raspberry Pi camera simply by spinning and tuning the lens and the locking ring.
  • Compose the perfect frame - You decide how to frame up the best image by picking an m12 lens with the best FoV (Field of View) you need with a variety of M12 lenses on the market to choose from
  • Example projects - Shoot a waterdrop half an inch away with tuned focus; Shoot a QR code or A4 paper from the other end of the room with telephoto M12 lens; Stitch a panorama with fisheye m12 lens
  • Options - Get M12 lens set “Arducam LK001” for optical testing and “Arducam LK002” for minimum distortion in machine vision; Get “Arducam B0055” for m12 fisheye and “Arducam B003503” for m12 night vision. Get a lens without IR filter to make this camera IR sensitive. Contact Arducam for other options
  • Note - 1. This board is slightly larger(36cm) than the official Raspberry Pi Camera V2 so it does not fit some cases for Raspberry Pi, but it’s natively compatible with the commands and scripts; 2. It works with Pi Zero, but you will need to buy an extra cable. 3. Be gentle while changing the lens and holders or you might damage the thread, but it’s easily fixable with a new m12 holder

Fits great with a 12 mm to 1.5 in nose piece adapter. Seems to be identical to the official camera in function but not fit.

Excellent camera VERY clear clean images!

By replacing the fixed lens of the original Raspberry Pi camera with the common M12 lens mount system this upgraded camera gives you a wide array of inexpensive glass lens options for shooting with your Pi. The lens focuses by threading into the board mount and this allows for extremely close up macro photography. This camera worked right out of the box with both a Pi model B and a Pi 2 model B however it will not fit into cases designed for the original Raspberry Pi camera as the board is larger.

I have sampled a number of Pi cams for a project to keep an eye on my dog when I'm not home. This module works as expected with raspistill and raspivid. I've tested it with a Pi 3B+ and Pi Zero W. Worked great. I especially like being able to swap out the lens. These 12mm lenses are better for my application than the larger CS lenses. As other reviewers have noted, be gentle changing the lens. If you do mess up the threads, you can replace the mount with one that comes with many of the 12mm lenses. I see this as a pick a lens once and leave it setup rather than changing the lens over and over. I have not found a case that works with these. I'm using scotch tape across the top and bottom to tape it to the Pi case, and that would be fine for my own hacked up camera system. But I'm getting started with 3D printing to make cases for the Pi/cam units.

Great camera with a better lens than the Raspi version at lower cost!

Great little camera, and worked out of the box for me with no additional configuration. Not only is this cheaper than the Raspberry Pi camera module, it includes a superior lens with a M12x0.5 lens holder, with an adjustable focus. The adjustable focus is important for close-in focus, such as a 3D printer webcam. Note that the official Pi camera module has a fixed focus at infinity. Also, this uses the same OV5647 focal plane as the official Pi camera module.

Camera is great! Sensor is centered on the PCB (very important if using as a measuring device). Lens holder is deep enough to accommodate other focal length lenses. Easy to turn this camera into a microscope. Good price even though is is previous generation. I hope they come out with a Pi rev 2 camera

We were looking for an M12 mount affordable solution and this 8mp Arducam is perfect for projects that are requiring different types of lens. If you have the Arducam lens kits we recommend this camera.

This camera is a great option for an Rpi, I really like the interchangeable lenses since I'm using this in more of a close up situation and it allows me to control what gets into the frame of the video. I picked up 3 additional lenses for about $12 making the complete system very affordable. One thing to keep in mind, if you buy this board you won't be able to use most of the standard Rpi camera cases. This is slightly different size to allow them to adapt for the larger lenses.

Fore the price this is really a very good camera. I already had several different lenses from other projects I'd done in the past. That's one of the pluses of this versus the cameras with permanently attached lenses. There are many different lenses available that will fit this mount. Another thing I really like is the fact that there are "no" components on the back of the camera and you can use a high bond double sided tape like the 3M VHB to secure it and then remove it without damage. The image quality is good and the supplied ribbon cable is neither too long nor too short for attaching on or near the case. I think 5 stars is the right rating given the cost. Update: I just replaced the lens with one I had laying around from another project. Both the color and clarity improved greatly and you might want to look into a new one. The mount is M12 and if you search here you'll find plenty of good options. Just search "M12 lens".
