Not only adorable, but anyone can have their own birdbath buy just placing this in your bowl, pot whatever. I unboxed this in the shade as to not wear out the motor since it turns on in the sun. Walked over and put it in our shallow Talavera birdbath. Not rocks to hold it down. Simply place and walk away. No, it does not work in the shade or during cloud cover, only direct sunshine. We live in the desert so no problem. Perfectly packed, quickly shipped and excellent instructions. Just buy it already!

I'm enjoying this little pump. I put it in a large bowl about 24inches in diameter with about 2 inches depth. I put the bowl in the middle of my bee-butterfly garden that gets max sun. The bowl sits close to the ground. The pump floats around a little and some water sprays out on the ground which is fine and mists some flowers. The second day a mockingbird visited it and seemed to be intrigued with the bubbling water. He would flit and jump all around it. Because the pump works at varying strength due to how the sun hits, when the bird landed on the bowl and blocked some sun the fountain went lower and then without warning when the bird moved a little and the sun hit the solar cell in full the water spurted up high. In response The bird jumped up sky high in surprise and then just kept coming back to taunt the device. It was hilarious. Mockingbirds are always chasing other animals so it was fun to see the device spray the bird and joke on the bird for once. It is so little trouble. I just refill the bowl each evening when I water plants. It did not work well for my shallow bird bath on a pedestal. Needs more depth. I will probably order another one. It's hard to keep any standing water due to mosquitoes here but The movement of the pump helps keep away some mosquitoes and disrupts eggs the next morning (after sitting at night). But the water chasing the mockingbird episode was alone worth the price.

I purchased this solar pump for my glass bird bath to provide a water and bathing station for my sweet hummingbirds. The pump fit perfectly in the base of my glass birdbath and produced a nice fountain for the birds to enjoy. The amount of sun determines the height of the fountain spray, so you will need to find a sunny place for optimal effectiveness. The pump does not store solar power, so it is only active when it is sunny. It comes with 3 nozzle tip attachments for creating different water stream effects. The pump must be completely immersed in water to function properly and to extend the life of the water pump. The pump does have three small suction cups on the bottom that are perfect for glass or metal type bird baths. If you have a concrete or rough surface bath, you can use pebbles to secure the pump to the base. I found that once the pump produces a very large and high water spray that the little suction cups can become detached, so I opted to attach the large suction cup provided, to further stabilize my pump to the base of my glass bowl. I love the fact that this product is solar, so there are no safety issues. It provides my porch with an instant calming water feature, in addition to providing a water sanctuary for my bird friends. I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to purchase this solar fountain pump at a discounted price for review purposes. I am not a paid reviewer and received no other compensation. I do a great deal of shopping on Amazon and rely on customer reviews to help me make a purchasing decision, so it is important that I submit an honest review to my fellow shoppers. I personally love this product and feel very comfortable giving it 5 stars for function, ease of operation and safety in producing an instant water feature. I hope my review was helpful.

I purchased this pump on June 19, 2017...i have used it probably 2 weeks, and it has stopped working totally. There is no movement at all from the pump in full sun. I am really disappointed... I just got my bird bath up...picked the most perfect place for it in full sun...went out today...no pump. Ankway...now what do i do? Update===I contacted the company explained the situation and today a new pump was in the mail...with an instruction booklet and all the sprayer heads!!! Tomorrow I will work on getting the pump back in the birdbath. Thank you Ankway....for helping me and my birds out....good company, good people.

I've used it 2 weeks and no problem so far. A tip is I weighted mine down and I do not use the extra fountain heads because if it sprays high, the breeze can empty the bird bath. I also put rocks under it to make sure it doesn't tilt. If it tilts, the water can be jetted off the side and out of the bird bath draining it in the process. It only works when the sun is out, if the clouds are thick it will slow or stop, but I don't need it on non stop so this is fine for me. I try and top it off with fresh water daily for the birds but that's just me... You won't need to fill it every day but it's worth keeping an eye out for debris from mowing and other things that can fall in the water making it stagnant or sink to the bottom and potentially get in the way of the filter pump underneath. The birds definitely seem to enjoy the fountain which is the whole point so I'm glad they're not scared of the solar pump in anyway. Another tip: as soon as the solar panel sees the sun the pump will start running so flip it upside down if you're trying to install the pump but don't have it in water yet for cover it… Point is, the motor will burn out if you set it on the table and the sun turns it on without water.

A great product works as described. Needs a little maintenance in the form of debris cleaning but nothing major. Adds a beautiful if not peaceful sound of trickling water to our backyard. So far has proven durable. The fact that ita solar powered is definitely a great selling point, once the sun hits it. It goes higher and higher. I would recommend this product to anyone. UPDATE Still a five star product, added photos. We did not secure the fountain but allow it to move around. The birds are not bothered by this and actually enjoy it.

This is what a product should be: clearly and correctly described, priced fairly, simple to install and use. My birdbath is fairly small --- 18" diameter, 3" deep. The pump is too powerful for using the spray attachments, as much of the sprayed water would land outside the birdbath, requiring frequent refills. Solution for my environment: skip the spray attachments, just use the base fitting; this provides the birds with a cheerful burbler which burbles vigorously in the sunlight and sporadically when clouds come over. The birds love this pump, as do I. Whether your birdbath or pond is large or small, this is a highly functional, entertaining, and easy-to-use enhancement to your avian accommodations! Update: April 2017 After approximately 5 months, my pump simply stopped working. I disassembled the unit for cleaning and found no debris or other obvious problems. The pump shaft turned easily, but the motor refused to run. At this point, I contacted Ankway customer service and explained my problem. I also provided a photo of my installation. Customer service earned a 5-star rating by immediately replacing this unit. No fuss, no bother. It is no great surprise to discover that inexpensive electro-mechanical devices sometimes fail. But I am pleased that this fine and useful product has equally fine customer service.

I wasn't sure what to expect, especially after reading several negative reviews. I am glad I purchased this little pump nevertheless. I bout it together with a birdbath to use as a little water feature. As soon as I took the protective foil off the item it started up. Inside the house, no direct sunlight. As soon as I stepped outside I had to actually turn it upside down because I didn't want the pump to drun dry/without water. The second I put it in water, the pump worked. It worked so well I had to take the nozzle off because the water was shooting up too high and outside the water bath. (Without the attachment nozzle water comes up a couple of inches and is perfect for the birdbath). Time will tell if the pump will continue to work as great as it does at the moment, but for now I am super impressed with it

Just got this today for our birdbath and it works beautifully. The fountain was shooting too high for the diameter of our birdbath (the breeze was blowing the water over the side before it landed back in the bowl), so I used a small nail to enlarge the holes in one of the wider nozzle caps which were included. The bigger holes keep the fountain spray at about a 4 - 5 inch height in full sun rather than 12-14 inches as it was the original cap.
