I like this product. I am learning how to watercolor and bought a small set of paints. Well there were only a few colors and I wanted a few more but I don't want to spend a lot of money. This popped up and it has a lot of pretty paints plenty to use for most anything I will paint. I am not an expert at all but for me these are nice, vibrant and pretty colors. I love the case too, keeps everything together, keeps the paints covered and neatly packaged. The price seems reasonable too. If you are a beginner I say you should be happy with these. I am pretty sure even an expert might find these paints to be worthy. I will buy again if I paint enough to run out of paint.

I love these paints and what a deal. All 36 beautiful colors for 10-12 dollars or so. These watercolors are not wimpy. They can be as transparent or as opaque as you want them to be. The pigment and color is very rich. There's no chalky or grainy feel to them after they are dry. There's even a little paintbrush that comes in this set. The colors bleed very well in wet washes like you want them to or if you wish you can use less water and have perfect control over the medium. This is the perfect watercolor set for those beautiful Painterly Days watercolor books. I think the author even has them on her materials list. That says something great right there. PS the Painterly Days books are sold on amazon and are just perfect with these. Especially if you get stuck on what to draw or paint. The pictures I've included are pages I've painted in those books.

I'm in no way an artist, but I started dabbling in watercolors. I have only really done test swatches with this pan set, but the colors are very beautiful and there is a wide range of them. The lid almost looks like you could use it to mix other colors, but it won't lay flat when open and might be hard to clean. The many different shades means that you won't need to mix colors often. The brush that was included isn't of the highest quality, but with a bit of trimming (some bristles were longer than the rest) it becomes usable. I would still recommend getting a replacement brush from your local art supply store or finding one here on Amazon.

I am a beginner, so please keep that in mind as you read the rest of the review. The amount of product and color options that you get for the price is definitely worth it. The brush inside is not so great. Something that my nephew would use in a school setting. But it was a plus, you should look into getting a decient set of brushes. The colors are vibrant and as mentioned the selection is amazing. More than other sets i looked into. The quality itself i felt was wonderful as well. Colors build up nicely and dry quickly. Good starter set.

These are my favorite watercolors ever! I love Artist's Loft. They're definitely not professional grade, but they're also a lot better than Crayola or Prang. They do have a rough surface when they dry, but I always put my paintings in a page protector or frame when I'm done, so that doesn't matter to me. We bought this set to try out our new water color pens. It worked great. A great buy 7 I reccomend this set. The browns are a bit dark but that is my only critique. We used Trasfit Assorted Water Coloring Brush Pen, SetTrasfit Assorted Water Coloring Brush Pen, Set of 6 The papper we used was XL Mix Media Pad, 7"X10" Side Wire

I bought this as a replacement for my ten year old watercolor set (which I have no idea what the brand was). I am extremely happy with this new set. Lots of paint in the pans, very vibrant colors by default (use lots of water for a wash effect). Before you paint with them, they are a bit "chalky" and will come off onto your finger, but once you wet a color for the first time and it dries, it no longer does this. I will definitely order again when I use them up.

These have a somewhat chalky texture, but at this price point I don't think you can beat such a beautiful selection of colors to play with! The brush is terrible and would likely only lead to frustration, so I recommend you toss it and get yourself a decent one in order to really enjoy these paints. I have found that the Princeton Snap brushes (which can be found here on Amazon with a quick search) are a steal at their price point for the quality of the brush, in my opinion. They hold their shape well, snap back beautifully, and even on the larger brush sizes they have a super fine tip that can be used for even the finest of detail work if desired. Happy painting!

These paints are great. They have nice vivid color. The first set of dry watercolor paints that I purchased were the Koi Sakura set. The colors were fabulous. I work with children and was looking for a less costly but quality set for them to use. This is it! Check out the picture I've posted. The colors on the right side of the rainbow are Sakura brand, and for comparison on the left side are Artist's Loft. I think the quality is very similar. You get more color pots with Artist Loft too. FYI, I purchased my Artists Loft paints at Michaels for considerably less than what I'm seeing on Amazon. I think they'd still be worth buying from Amazon if you can't buy them at Michaels. Great paints!!
