Looks awesome smells like ox that's how you know it's authentic and unique. Mine looks better then it looks online and I am extremely satisfied with it. If you're on the fence about buying this get it it's amazing.

I bought one 16oz Tankard and one polished, 12" horn with a stand for my husband’s birthday. Both AleHorn products were well-wrapped and arrived safely in stylish AleHorn bags (see the photo). My husband loves both, especially the Tankard. It’s beautiful and authentic – It is amazing to see that the cup and the handle were made from one horn, which explains why there are some rough spots on the bent of the handle. But because of that reason, each AleHorn Tankard is unique and authentic!!! Plus, I couldn't have been happier when I found it had no smell at all since I was a bit worried about animal smell some reviewers commented on. Although there was no smell, I followed the reviewers’ advice – I sprinkled baking soda in each horn, placed them in a plastic bag overnight, and then hand washed them with warm water and kitchen soap. My husband proudly took the Tankard and the polished horn to a beer garden on his birthday. He drank cold beer from the horn in the center of envious eyes and whispering! I love these AleHorn products and will definitely buy them again as gifts. Thanks, AleHorn! AleHorn Wife from NY

My first purchase was a XL mug I could pour an entire 500ml bottle into. When I got it, it was a little disconcerting because I always thought horns were more "bony" if-you-will, and if someone had handed it to me out of blue I would have sworn it was plastic. My wife (who is much smarter than me), said it didn't look at all like plastic to her because it would be extremely difficult to get the variations in color with plastic. When she explained horns were more like nail, it made sense. And once you see more than one, it's like: "Oh, yeah. I'm an idiot". Immediately, I wanted to get a smaller one to take with me on D&D nights. For some reason it appeared one Large was more expensive than an XL. I decided to buy a set of 4L and give away a couple to my game friends. It's convenient that each come in a cloth bag more durable than a Crown Royal sack, especially if you're giving them away. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the smell. These must have been newer in production because the lacquer odor was very prominent. However, after using one a few times, I can report that the smell has dissipated (still there, but negligible at this point). I am happily enjoying an IPA with it as I write this. The only other issue to be aware of (and I can't believe this would be a purchasing criteria), is that it appears that the irregular surface on the inside creates more foam, so you will have to pour even MORE carefully down the side than normal. All the features I rated 4 of 5. Durabilty is limited by the sensitivity to heat (no dishwasher) and being an organic product, there is variations in thickness in the walls. Easy to clean, again no dishwasher -- which isn't a gut-wrenching tragedy -- but you should have a good, flexible, soft cleaning brush, especially if you don't rinse it immediately after use (and if you've used it a lot that night, you know you won't have!). Easy to hold: Well, yes and no. From what I've experienced, it seems the handle configurations favor a right-hand drinker (me) based on limited experience switching hands. Ok, I know I said there were caveats...minor caveats. But I thought that was a way for you to read this review. Ragnar lives! Skol!

This purchase literally popped into my mind as a gift for all the men in my family that are of drinking age. I was extrememly disheartened when this gift for my son-in-law, who had just returned from deployment 3 days to be exact, from Navy and his box was stolen or never made it priority mail. My daughter told me he had wanted one of these mugs for 3 years...so I will be ordering another one for him!!!

First and foremost, I have had the mindset that this particular product is composed of natural elements that are not machined so one cannot expect a repeatable standard. Because of this, one can expect "imperfections". These imperfections, in my opinion, make each product unique. I found a tiny leak in my alehorn that I had not taken any stars off for because of this. On top of that, after contacting the company (not Amazon), they are in the process of sending me a new one in order to rectify the problem. As with any product even if it were constructed from a machined process that would have one expect no flaws from, this product was also prone to damage. Considering the nature of the product and the company's prompt customer support along with their willingness to correct the problem, I rate this product five stars. It's a beautiful item and although we have the luxury to complain about such little imperfections, I doubt that the Vikings cared much about losing drops of their ale while pounding down their beer.

I ordered two tankards and I had a problem with one of them. It is my understanding that the problem can occur because the product is made of natural horn. To my surprise and delight, the supplier of the AleHorn Tankards I bought for Christmas presents responded to my needs and went well above anything I expected. They above all showed themselves to be men of honor! It is so rare to find individuals with such character when ordering from the web. If you are like me, you have ordered items and hoped for the best, not sure if the product will come close to your expectations. But when you are dealing with men like these men, you have nothing to fear. They will be there to make sure the outcome will surpass your expectations.

My Alehorn arrived last night and I was ecstatic - it's absolutely gorgeous, and I immediately fell in love. I was looking forward to enjoying a beer with it today (worked out before bed and didn't wanna kill my gainz, bro). Then, the unthinkable happened: I found some damage on the inside of the horn. Having already imprinted on my horn like a baby duck with its mother, I hoped it was reparable and emailed the company for advice. First of all, Ben replied to my email after only 11 minutes which is a pretty astonishing response time. Second, and speaking as a manager in the service industry myself, he provided some of the best customer support I've ever received. He told me how to fix my horn, then told me I shouldn't have had to and that he was sending me a brand new one in addition. Not all heros wear capes. Actually for all I know Ben does. I didn't ask. You get the point. I'll update this review with details once I repair the first horn, receive the new one, and drink from both. So far, I'm pretty impressed by the product and the company.

This is just really, really cool. Gave it to my husband for a gift (the man who has everything), and he has been drinking out of it nonstop. I got him the large, holds a can of beer (maybe need to take a sip or two to finish off the can). He loves the look and feel of it. No leaks, sturdy. Based on his reaction, I bought him the extra large the next day. Bigger is better. Would highly recommend.

Did my horn come chipped? Yes Did it leak? Yes Did nail hardner fix it? Let's hope so. Listen you're buying a product made of natural horn, it's going to have some issues since it's not uniform like something machine made. The horn is gorgeous and most issues have been solved with a bit of nail hardner and some 0000 steel wool. Even with the work I had to put it to get it working right this thing is beautiful and amazing. I'm giving it 5 stars, deal with it. TL;DR: If you can't put the work in to have an AleHorn, are you sure you're worthy of Valhalla?
