WAY Better than the previous model
This is a million times better than the previous model. Fun little pictures games they can play on it too. It has an internal timer you can set that will limit the amount of time they can play those games. It can actually store a good amount of videos and pictures. The last model had I think 16 MB of internal memory. That's insanely small. They probably had to pay some company extra just to produce something to 2001 standards. This one has 256 MB which is still relatively small BUT you can pop a micro SD card in to go to 1 GB up to 32 GB.

Really love it for a kids first camera
Really love it for a kids first camera. You can go under parental controls and turn off the games which I think is great. I got it for a camera, not games :) Fits in your hands very nicely and feel strong. I would buy it again.

It's a real camera, not a toy
Bought this for my 4-1/2 year old granddaughter for Christmas, and she loved it! Since she doesn't live with me and her parents helped her figure out how to operate it, I don't know how easy or hard that is. But they had it going pretty much immediately after she opened it on Christmas morning, so it couldn't be too difficult. It seems very sturdy. She loves the pink color and the special effects she can put on her pictures. They've posted on Facebook several she's taken with her new camera, and I think I have a budding photographer! I love that she can use this like a toy, but it's a real camera that takes real pictures. She will hopefully be using it for several years before she's ready to move up to a smaller, less pink camera.

Made for Kids But Not a "Toy" Camera
My 5 year old granddaughter always wants to use my DSLR camera and has asked for a video camera so she can create a vlog. That makes me smile because she can't read and write yet but she wants to post videos online. Kids! I wanted a sturdy camera for her that is made for kids but is not a "toy." The VTech Kidizoom DUO met all my requirements. When she opened it on Christmas morning, she screamed with joy then said, "Is this a toy?" I explained that it is a real camera made for kids to learn with and that I would show her how to use it after she finished opening her other gifts. She was not interested in opening anything else and taught herself to use the camera on photo and video in 2 minutes! She was adding borders to the pictures and discovered the games too. A few days later I was asking her about Christmas and she said her best gift was the camera. This camera is sturdy and has survived many falls (it was under the couch when I visited recently). It is very easy to learn and is fun to use. I believe she took around 1,200 pictures before maxing out the memory. When it gets full, we just delete the less than perfect pictures. The batteries last pretty long considering how much the camera is used. We have not printed any of her photos yet but what we view on the screen is very high quality.

Our 4 yr old daughter loves this! Gets good pics
We bought this for our 4 year old daughter and she loves it. I have to be honest, I'm not sure if she loves taking pictures or playing games on it more, but we try to keep emphasize the pictures and video taking. It has a flash, which works well when needed. The quality of the pictures is pretty good if you hold the camera very still when shooting (this can be difficult for a 4 year old, so she ends up with more blurry pictures). It makes a sound when taking a picture, so that helps. She has gotten some really nice pictures, so we easily connect the camera to a computer, upload the pics, and then she can email them to grandma to show them off. You can take videos, and the quality is just fine, nothing spectacular. As I stated, there are lots of games to play as well which has come in handy for car rides, or the like. There are also a number of picture options to try from frames that appear on the screen to changing the lens to B&W or sepia, etc. Overall, it's been awesome! Oh, also, takes 4 AA batteries.

) Its still a great camera and with the included games
I bought this for my 7 year old grandson as a birthday present as he has always been interested in using my SLR camera. He loves this camera. The only downside is that the memory card that comes with it has a very very very tiny capacity. If I'd checked it out more thoroughly, I would have bought him another, larger memory card. (I was just going to give him one of my 32 GB memory cards, but the camera requires the new tiny memory cards.) Its still a great camera and with the included games, it's really fun!

So much fun!!
I got this camera for my 5 year old as a birthday gift and he LOVES it. It's so much fun. You can take "selfies" and it has fun stickers and filters (kind of similar to Snapchat.) It also had games on it so when he's not taking pictures he is still getting used to the buttons by playing the games. It really helps kids get familiar with cameras and exploring creativity. I would highly recommend this for any kid! I'm planning on purchasing more for my other kids.

Great Camera for Kids
If it lasts a year or two it will be worth the money. Our 3 year old is always wanting to play around with our smartphone and take photos (and use up our memory). This little camera gives her the freedom to take her own pictures. Vetch makes a less expensive version but it doesn’t have flash or a rear facing camera for selfies. This camera does at a higher price but I think it is worth it. With an additional memory card hundreds of photos can be taken. This camera also has a zoom function and some creative photo options as well as some rudimentary games. Some reviews have balked at the fact that it requires 4 AA batteries to operate but I consider that an advantage. Proprietary batteries cost a small fortune to replace if they go bad and also require a plug in charger to keep up with. If you purchase 8 rechargeable AA batteries and a wall charger you can have 4 in the camera and 4 in the wall charger ready to go when needed. The camera is very intuitive and most children three and up should have no trouble figuring out how to operate it in a couple of hours with adult instruction. The camera seems to be armored well for accidental drops and kid play but nothing is indestructible. I would keep it away from water also.

Buy it!
I think it's perfect. I am a photographer and I got this for my 3 year old boy. He handles it very well. He takes it every time we go out. It allows us to have a hobby together. The only down side is the wrist band to carry it while not using it. A shoulder strap or belt type strap would be way more logical for a child. Otherwise its awesome. Also love the fact that you can disable the games. Games on a camera doesnt even make sense.

Fantastic kid camera! Exactly what I wanted.
These cameras are the best! Bought two - one for each boy (ages 4 and 6) for a long 20 hour road trip. They loved taking photos (about 300 of in the inside of my van....) and played with all the special effects and learned all about the world of selfies! They took great pictures on our trip and the games were great for spurts of boredom on the road trip when they needed something to keep quiet (while their siblings were napping). I didn't find the games to be a nuisance at all because they're basic games (think Frogger) and my boys had no problem with the boundaries I gave them of when it was acceptable to play them. They take decent photos and holy smokes - they hold up well to being dropped! My 4 year old tested that out for you all. At least 50 times. It still works. And then another 25 times, for good measure. Yup, still works! Great camera and will be buying my daughter one in a couple years when she's old enough.
