These towels are beautiful. They are super absorbent, and leave absolutely no lint on glassware. The colors are bright and pretty, and the quality is exceptional. My Step-Daughter's Grandmother has some of these towels that she says she has had for more than 30 years! I believe it, because she is like me in that she doesn't throw away anything just because it's old. Hers have no holes, the hems are still in perfect condition and they are still as absorbent as mine from what I can tell. I had used them at her house many times and didn't realize when I ordered my Harringdon Towels that they were the same ones she has until I saw the colors of the stripes on hers. Hers are not quite white anymore, so I am going to suggest she order some Rit Whitening Powder for them. These towels are also nice and big, but fold nicely, or roll as I do to fit in my kitchen drawer. I am so pleased that Harringdons still makes the same quality they did those many years ago. I do suggest washing them alone, or only with other items that have no lint, IOW not terrycloth, as it gets on them and is very difficult to remove. I made that mistake when I first got them by washing them with my new dishcloths and had to brush all of the lint off and use a tape-roller to remove the rest. It was worth it though, as now they are like they are supposed to be and I won't make that mistake again. I highly recommend these for anyone. Quality like this is not easy to find these days, but this company still apparently believes in making their products with the same care they did 30 years ago. Thank You Harringdons.

Ok, they're only dishtowels. They are for drying dishes, mopping up spills and drying hands--or whatever else you need a towel for in the kitchen. I've used bar towels for years and was never *really* happy with their size, quality or performance. These towels hit the mark in every way. When I received them, I tossed them in the washer (on cold--I wash just about everything on cold) and then in the dryer (normal setting) and there *might* have been some shrinkage, but with the size of these towels--they are HUGE--who cares about that!? It would still take two or more of my old towels to make up one of these "shrunken" towels. And really, would you run a special laundry load just for your kitchen towels--I wouldn't. So I treated them like I'll be treating them! They are thick.. almost canvas like, but they aren't stiff. All four edges are finished. The weave is very tight and if I was going to embroider a towel, this would be the towel I'd want to use. The colors are nice and compliment just about any kitchen color. But for me, the most important part... they DRY. After washing my hands, I picked one up and dried my hands--and they were actually dry when I was done. If you've had poor quality towels in the past, you know how important this is. They dry dishes just as well... even mopped up water off the counter.... slurped it all up. I do have one small issue with these towels, the hanging loop is on the corner. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but if I was to hang this huge towel from a hook inside my cabinet door, using the loop, they would hang down past the door and onto the floor. I really wish they had put the loop on the middle of a side instead--but even with that in mind, I still think I'm giving these for Christmas gifts this year--who couldn't use a set of fabulous dish towels. It's one of those simple, every day things you just don't give much thought--until you do. Definitely a +5 star product!!

I don't know why it took me half my life to figure out that there were towels out there that actually dried your hands, dishes, etc. and even quickly dried themselves afterward instead of hanging around damp and stanky. Thankfully, I did what we all do when we come up with an idea that seems too brilliant not to already exist.... I jumped on Amazon and found these babies. Oh, sure, there were lots of other choices, but these are hands-down the best. How do I know? I can't imagine them being any better, that's how. Why should you trust someone that took this long to figure out that quality towels existed? You have a point there, but trust me. Or take your chances elsewhere. Hey, it's your Amazon and your money! :) Happy shopping and happy drying or whatever else you want to do with these awesome towels. I take the time to write reviews because I know that I rely heavily on honest reviews when I make Amazon purchases. If my review was at all helpful to you, please let me know!

Very nice! I was impressed with the quality. So much better than what your local retail store sells. Good large size. Received it on time, well packaged (comes with a personalized note from the President of Harringdons). I have washed them a few times now, and they are still as good as new. Good for drying plates and fruits etc and I can also use them to clean spills in the kitchen. Definitely a great X-Mas gift. Will be sending one to my sister soon.

I washed all of these cotton towels four times when I first received them. With all colored cotton items I purchase, I always add a few cups of vinegar the first time I wash colored cotton to help make the items color fast. I don't know if this really works.. just a habit I got into years ago when I purchase cotton that is colored. Negligible shrinkage after laundering. I take these lovely towels out of the dryer, fold them, then roll them up. They sit in a basket on the counter. Very pleased with the weight of the towels (not thin) and the feel of these towels. They are absorbent. I use them for drying items in the kitchen, making no knead artisan bread, hang on oven door and hang by the sink under a cabinet. Love having cotton. Wish I could have gotten all turquoise striped or would have preferred a lime color stripe. However, I find the different colors work well. Highly recommend these towels. I paid full price for these towels.

I really like these towels. First, prior to receiving them, I received an email from the company welcoming me to their product. While I haven't had time to respond, I like the "warm fuzzy" and thoughtfulness of the company. But more important than "warm fuzzy", I like that the products work well. First, they are made extremely well. Excellent quality product that I expect to get a lot of life out of. They dry my dishes well. In addition though, beyond dishes, I have an unconventional use. My hairstylist informed me to use an old cotton T-shirt to dry my hair, and not my traditional bath towels. I also use these to dry my hair and have noticed an improvement and have less frizz. I have since purchased a second set.

These are great quality, pretty, and wash well. I didn't realize that the stripes are down the long side and not across the bottom, but that's even more cool for my intention to embroider in the middle. I've used a few already as dish towels and for cooling baked goods and they're really nice.

For years I was using paper towels to dry my hands and wipe water off counter tops, etc. I was spending 12,14,16 dollars for a package of towels that might last me a month or two. Then I got smart and decided to start using these cloth towels. They are very absorbent. I still use paper towels to clean messy things. But now, I use one of these towels to dry my hands and another towel to dry dishes, etc. In the long run, they have saved me some money. They paid for themselves after only two months.

I purchased these towels because I've been using the same old "rags" for YEARS and finally decided I deserved something new. I loved the bright colors on the stripes (especially the teal/blue ones!) and was really excited to have towels without stains!! So this is what white towels are supposed to look like! Tossed them all in the washer immediately and when I pulled them out of the dryer to fold, I only had a couple that shrunk wonky making folding them into perfect little rectangles impossible. I don't really care though because they aren't gifts, they aren't for display... they are for drying wet dishes. My mom was over the other day, and while I was standing at the sink washing pots and pans and four metal cupcake tins, running out of room on the drying rack, I said "oh hey Mom, check this out!" and opened the drawer holding my brand new dish towels. She got so dang excited to see that I was no longer using left over Gerber flannel diapers and whatnot, that she jumped up off the counter stool and grabbed one to start drying my dishes!! So I'd say not only do they work amazing at absorbing the water, but they also excite the lazy people in my house enough to actually HELP WITH THE DISHES!! These towels are thick compared to others I've had over the years, and not quite as large as the ones my grandmother had when I was growing up, but the size doesn't bother me, they are plenty big to do the job. With just with one wash I can tell they will only get better and softer over time. I did however have to hold a family meeting about the proper use of my new white kitchen towels. Rule number one was, "Do not use my new white kitchen towels for wiping your nasty spaghetti or chocolate pudding faces." Followed by "My new white kitchen towels are not for wiping the coffee you spill on the counter each time you pour a cup." Then of course I couldn't leave out the "My new white kitchen towels are NOT for cleaning the pollen off your windshield in the morning." Overall, I think that they understood how special my new white kitchen towels are and will use them for their intended purpose. Thank you for a great product and hopefully these will last years... (I've hid half of them from my family though, because it's honestly a matter of time before someone is using one to wipe muddy dog feet. I forgot to add that one to the "rules".)

These towels cover (pun unintended) all the bases! They are sturdy, lovely, and very absorbent. They can be used for drying dishes, glassware, flatware, and crystal. They mop up water spills effectively, dry quickly, and wash beautifully. They become softer and more absorbent with each washing (unlike any other dishtowel I have ever used in my 50+ years!) They are perfect for other kitchen uses, like draping over rising bread, wrapping dough, covering kombucha cultures, drying just-washed vegetables, and, when I am too lazy to walk ALL the way to my pantry (6 feet away! ;-)) to get my apron, I tuck one into my neckline to protect my clothes while I quickly fry up an egg or mix a pot of spaghetti sauce. They take the hit better than my clothes! I will never go back to any other towel, so long as these delightful towels are available. Wish I had had them when my children were little...they make great dinner napkins, they are elegant enough to wrap the bread rolls in the basket on the dinner table, and to use for guest hand towels in the half-bathroom. I have yet to find anything about them I do not like. Thank you, Harringdon's!
