I love this product. I was skeptical but it does leave hair silky and moisturized - I also tried reconstructor from Tigi (purple bottle called Runway something)which smelled STRONG like herbs/mint -- this product doesn't smell !!! It goes on easy and leaves hair very soft and smooth. Very happy with this purchase for dark normal hair. Update July/2018: Now that I bleach my hair blonde , this conditioner can’t do the job anymore. A lot of products that used to work before don’t “cut it” anymore for damaged hair. I gave my heart to Schwarzkopf Bonacure line (because it actually restores) but I still recommend this mask if your hair is normal to damage #1 - but not for #2, and level 3, you will NEED to add serious protein treatments (if you want to have lots of hair, instead of broken hair on the ends). I recommend any repair lines like Aphogee/Bonacure/Redken Chemistry Extreme shot /or any other system like Lebel to this mask (use the Shot first, Mask next, and cuticle sealer last). But this alone won’t help to repair your damages.

Severe bleach damage.

A quick bit of background information. I had VERY smooth fine hair. And a lot of it. It had been slowly (5 sessions) lightened to an almost platinum blonde. I am an ardent Olaplex user and experienced 0 damage. However, when I went to get my roots touched up my hair dresser, whom I had been going to for the passed three years, left me with bleach on my roots for an HOUR. Needless to say my hair was exceptionally dry, textured and broken after that experience. Olaplex step three was not enough to help me and I was in a sheer panic because the damage was at my roots. I went on an ordering spree and even got a 200 dollar “hair Botox” only to continue to have dry hair. Even dumping argon oil on my head did nothing. Today, three weeks out, my hair feels and looks silky and shiny just like my old hair. I used aphogee 2 step treatment and saw a tiny bit of a difference. After using this product once mixed with equal parts olaplex step 3 my hair has pretty much bounced back to how it was pre-bleach session. I CANNOT RECCOMEND THIS ENOUGH.

Unexpectedly brilliant results!

This conditioner quite frankly blew my mind. I'm awful to my hair. I mean, straight up brutal. It's long, but from years of coloring and bleaching -and being now in my early 40's- it was beginning to show signs of extreme stress. Thinning, brittle, and coarse. My usual go-to deep repair conditioner (Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque) was no longer making much of a difference. When I ran out, I started combing other deep conditioner reviews and came across this one. It was so inexpensive -half what I paid for the same size of my old brand- I decided to give it a try. First time out of the container, I wasn't initially impressed: It looked and smelled like the conditioner that comes with boxed hair color kits. First use, I thought my hair seemed lighter and a bit silkier than before. Second use, I noticed an even greater difference, definitely softer, less weighty, and unbelievably shiny. Third use, I was 1000% sold. This stuff is *amazing*, and has all but reversed my hair's downward trend. I don't think I'll ever buy anything else, ever again.

My hair was OVERPROCESSED so badly that I thought it was going to all fall out! :) Using moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, I also used this hair mask to repair my hair. I could see a little difference after the first use, but using it every 4 days or so for two weeks, my hair was more smooth, not as frizzy, and felt much softer than it had. I've used it for a few months now and I get complemented on how healthy my hair looks. My hair is naturally very dark brown and it's been lightened to a very light blonde, so it definitely works if I'm getting those kinds of complements!!!

My hair became really damaged after bleaching and coloring it a few times. But after using this mask, my hair became soooo healthy again. Be realistic and don't expect a perfect head of hair after using it once. I used it about once or twice a week and after finishing the whole jar, my hair was amazing. Felt and looked great. It smells great too. I'm not sure how others used it, but I would wash my hair, then leave this in my hair for up to an hour. Then wash it out. This is a protein mask, so make sure your hair NEEDS protein before you start using this two/three times a week. Too much protein is bad for your hair, esp if your hair isn't lacking it. Overall, for me, this did wonders! Love it and will def buy it again.

📣PSA for people who've destroyed their hair bleaching and using heat tools:

Ok so let me start of by saying that I have torched my hair. Now I'm sure a lot of the people who are looking at this product have damaged hair, so you can absolutely relate to what I'm about to describe. I am a natural redhead, and natural redheads have arguabley the hardest hair pidgment to strip, so it takes A LOT of processing just to get it to a level 6. Well...my hair is like a 13 lol. I have white hair. I've been bleaching my hair for YEARS and have also been straightening it for probably a little over a decade. (I'm 21 so my hair is still pretty strong I suppose) Now I've always noticed a difference in the texture of my hair since I started going nuts on it, but recently it's been unbearable. My hair is naturally curly and used to be pretty thick, but now it's limp, cracked, dull, brittle, extremely dry like hay, and actually has sections where the hair is PERMANENTLY CRINKLED. If you've damaged your hair to my extent, you know exactly what I'm talking about 😭 I've gotten into this horrible habit of running my fingers through my hair to try to find the crinkled section and try to pull off the crinkled parts. It's super not good so I've kicked it into high gear to fix my hair without giving up my wonderful white hair that I can change to whatever color my heart desires that month. I used to use loreal hair serum, and it definitely made a difference in my hairs texture, but their new formula smells so disgusting, it makes my hair smell like dirty washcloth. It's unfortunate because the was the only product that helped my hair, but the stink was too much. I was going to go the olaplex route, but read that a most or all of the olaplex online is fake. I came across this product when I looked up "protein treatment" and saw the reviews and the sale price (63% off???? Can't go wrong here) and decided to give it a try. I used it last night and ALREADY NOTICED A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE 💖💖💖💖 I'M SO HAPPY I COULD CRY. ⭐My hair is noticably softer. Even after washing it out, I could feel a surprising difference. It's not the same feeling you get after washing out a normal conditioner where it leaves you hair feeling glossy, it's more of a silk texture. (hard to explain but you'll get what I mean if you try this stuff) ⭐I love the smell! I have a ridiculously sensitive nose and I seriously cannot stand stinky products of any kind. This has a wonderful fragrance. I know that's not for everyone as some people prefer fragrance free, but the scent is light enough to be noticable, but not to overpower you. It honestly reminded me of the vintage perfune white diamonds??? ⭐After drying, my hair actually had a bit of shine, which I haven't seen in years.... Now I will tell you that my regular routine is loreal Paris shampoo, some random conditioner I have in my stockpile and then leave in serum. The serum was ok (I can link you to it if you're interested) but tbh it really didn't make a difference in my hair.. it smells nice and made it more manageable to an extent, but it didn't make my hair any less cruddy. I always put it on my hair when it's damp and then again once it's dry. I didn't use it after my first mask treatment and was blown away by how amazing this product work alone with no help from a serum. My hair was Soo soft and light. It actually does add volume to your hair! Now I didn't take a before picture (so sorry) but my hair is damaged enough to be able to imagine how bad it was before my first treatment by my description lol. I'm going to be updating this until I use this all up as well, because I know how challenging it can be to find good products that actually help your hair. So basically; TLDR: This product blew my mind the first time I used it. If your hair is damaged to the point of you wanting to shave your head, DONT. Try this before you go crazy like I almost did. As I said before, I'll be updating with every use, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

It Rescued My Hair

I purchased this product after preprocessing (stripping and bleaching) left my hair damaged, frizzy and brittle. I used it with steam towels for about 30 minutes and immediately saw results. I've continued using once a week to help revitalize my hair. This product really had made a huge improvement. I highly recommend if you have dry, brittle, damaged hair especially. It's not exactly a miracle and will not instantly restore the integrity and texture of your hair (nothing can do that) but it certainly made a difference immediately.

This product actually does what it says. Great Protein treatment for fine hair.

This product actually does what it says. Instantly, you will feel the difference in your hair moments after you apply the product you will noticeably feel the protein binding to your strands. My fine hair had a good weight to it after the product was applied. I have never used a protein treatment where in, i could actually feel the weight of the protein binding to my strands. INCREDIBLE! After washing the product out of my hair, i noticed an immediate difference in my hair. Instantly, it reduced my shedding by around 90%. I normally use nexus emergency in my hair but decided to give this product a try based on consumer affairs product rating for BEST protein conditioner treatment. It was considered one of their top 5 protein treatment based on their testing. I am so happy i tried this product. I will trade in my $40 nexus emergency protein treatment for this product. I am african american with type four hair and after using this product, my fingers glided through my hair. I hardly had any shed hair. My hair was breaking so much from moisture overload and this product stopped my breakage by 90-95%. This is by far the best protein treatment i have ever used. Normally, i am protein sensitive but with this product, i had no issues of tangling or matting. I hope this review was helpful.

Really, really love this stuff

I have thick, coarse, processed hair. I've gone through 3 olaplex heavy lightening jobs to go from dyed dark brown to platinum balayage. So that's a lot of damage. I'm platinum on the ends now with a balayage up to my natural color. When I started lightening I switched to the hydrating mask (looks the same as this packaging) in place of conditioner. When that ran out I got this one. I'm going to stock both in the shower because they are AWESOME! I squeeze out my hair in the shower and put it on using a wet brush to comb it through. I rinse it out at the end of my shower. My hairstylist told me whatever I'm doing to keep doing it! I'll add pictures with and without flash so you can see the shine. I've never had my bleached blonde look so glossy!! For some reason the images makes the jars look huge, it's only half that size but the oz's it says it is is correct. I was just confused at first. I've read that the silicones make it look like it's restoring your hair but it's really not... I don't know how that works, but it's been MONTHS and my hair is great.. I would say that those comments aren't true. I 've also read the silicones cause build up.. I haven't encountered that. I use a sulfate free shampoo regularly. When my blonde gets brassy I use shimmer lights which has sulfates. That may or may not be why I don't see a build up at all.

Great product, 5 stars ... use on my dry bleached hair that was breaking off! Try it!

Used this on my shoulder length bleach blonde hair and LoVEd it! My hair has always been somewhat frizzy, and after bleaching it was damaged and breaking off, as well as being very difficult to detangle after each shampoo/conditioning. Once I got this product (this is the Fortifying Protein mask that also has the moisturizing oils in it ... their other one is just the argan and macadamia oils without the extra protein) my hair became way easier to comb out after shampooing, and even after blow drying my hair was beautifully silky and looked much less damaged than before ... I would say that after using it for the past several months it has really helped my hair big time. I used it every 2-3 days just to help stop the breakage and dryness I was having, and I have had great results with this Fortifying Protein mask. I am ordering it again now for the second time, and you do not need to glob too much of it on your hair for it to work. I apply just enough for it to absorb into my hair while I shower, then I rinse my hair with cool water and wow, it really makes a huge difference from every other product I have used before. I love it and would recommend it to anyone with dry, breaking, and frizzy hair issues.
