  • Provides utmost safety to kids and elderly by preventing your carpets from slipping suddenly.
  • Can be easily removed by hand without leaving any residue that may damage delicate hardwood floors.

I purchased this to use on two rugs. The first is a brand new 9 x 12 rug over carpet in our living room. It wasn't too bad to begin with, but did "walk a smidge." We have two little kids and a dog so it sees a lot of running, jumping, playing and rolling (from the dog :). The rug was only a couple weeks old and some of the creases from shipping hadn't fully fallen out so it had ripples in places. I applied a strip of this tape around the perimeter of the rug as well as a line down the center. It has been a few days and the rug hasn't budged! Total success! The second rug is an 8 x 8 in our nursery, also over carpet. It was a hot mess and would bunch up as soon as you walked on it. I applied a line of tape around the perimeter and would have applied more but I ran out of tape. So far both rugs are holding strong! My only bit of advice would be to buy more tape than you think you need. If I were to do this again I would place tape all around the perimeter of the rug and then more through the center of the rug, either in strips or as an "x," to ensure that it would lay as flat as possible. It is sort of hard to go back and add more tape (not sure if you can pull this up and reposition it). While my rugs are holding in place, it was really hard to smooth out every ripple, despite having help, and this kind of annoys me.

Incredible CARPET tape! I'm using it for rug on rug contact for runners as well as rug on hardwood and it works perfectly for both applications. HOWEVER I figured since the tape is so sticky and adheres so well to carpets and flat floors that it would be perfect for hanging posters on walls. Well boy was I completely wrong. I tried using it for a puzzle that we glued onto poster board and hanging it on the wall with pieces of the carpet tape all around the edges as well as in the middle - nope, it has fallen off within an hour of hanging each time I tried. I also tried using it for and 1/8" thick poster board that has photos on it, to attach it to a smoothly painted wall, and no luck with that either. So again, amazing for what it's intended for, which is why I gave it 5 stars despite my failed attempts to get more usage from it. A minor issue, which others have pointed out, is the sticky residue it leaves on the scissors from cutting it. But I'll try a Clorox wipe for that like someone else suggested.

I received the tape on time as promised. I've used it to tape down some throw rugs on carpet that my wife rolls over with her power chair. I didn't expect the rugs to stay in place due to the weight of the chair and the changing direction of the wheels, but they are holding so far. I've also use the tape to tape down some light dimmers on tables that she can easily access to help her comfort level with her limited mobility. I like the fact that I don't expect him to leave any residue on the wooden tables.

I needed something to secure a small oriental square to the wood floor in a difficult area at my back door. It's difficult because that's the door where I load wood for my fireplace from the wood pile just outside the door, to the rolling transport cart. When I back the full log cart away from the door to get behind it and then start out forward to get to the den, it often moves the carpet square and/or gets stuck on it. What a pain. I've tried a couple of different methods to secure the rug but neither worked out. This tape is my latest try and so far it's doing a great job. I followed the directions sent by email from the vendor and made sure the carpet back and floor were clean and dust free. I attached two lengths of the tape to the back of the carpet first and then carefully positioned it where I wanted it before putting it down on the floor and then pressing it down with my feet thoroughly. Although it's currently summer I tried out the log cart by loading up the newly cleaned out wood storage area next to the fireplace and had no problem with the cart displacing the rug. It's a flat sturdy close weave rug, only 1.5' square, meant to be a sample of a bigger Persian rug. It was luckily found on sale when a carpet store closed and has served me well, but has taken lots of abuse in that location. I expect it will last much longer now that it isn't getting kicked all over the room. I am pleased enough with this tape holding securely that I will now attach the outdoor carpet treads that are on my garage stairs. Even though they are rubber backed, they move around and it will be nice to have them secured as well. I also want to try it in a couple of other difficult areas where it will really be put to a test. I'll update after the tape has been down a while if I notice further developments that might be useful to add.

I had two very stubborn rugs. One in the bedroom approximately 6ft x 9ft and the other in our main living room under the coffee table. The rug in our bedroom gave me fits. It was constantly wrinkled no matter how often I struggled to smooth it out. The living room rug was a mess as well. With a little one and two big dogs laying on it, it constantly bunched and drove me nuts. Both rugs were an investment and the constant struggle against the bunching and rippling was a real bummer. I don't know why it took me so long to look into a solution from this incessant irritant to my raging OCD, but a Google search yielded the answer: rug tape. This large roll was just enough to do both rugs (living room rug is 4 x 7). It's been several weeks and no ripples! Hallelujah!!

This tape is MAGIC. I bought some stair treads for wooden stairs that one of my dogs was afraid to go up and down. I bought this with the treads just in case. I put two small pieces on each side of the tread and those things ARE NOT MOVING - not even with 2 100+ lb dogs running up and down them. I also had to pull one tread up because I put it down at an angle and the tape did not leave any residue on the step when I pulled it up.

Honestly, don't laugh, but I bought this tape to keep my 4 mo old kitten from scratching my furniture. I needed something stronger and less expensive than the cellophane double stick "cat deterrent" tape they sell at the pet store, as it has to be replaced often. This tape is working very well, my kitten hates it, and it stays put longer than the other tape. As for use on carpets, I couldn't say, but it's great at keeping kitty from clawing up my furniture. Thanks!

Best tape evah!!! I used this tape to secure carpet stair treads. It secured them very well and if it needs to be removed, it comes up very easily without leaving residue. Great product. I had looked locally for a product like this in the big box stores and nobody carries this. Highly recommend it.

I use this double sided tape to hold down wood on my CNC router, It is super strong, easy to apply and easy to remove leaving no residue. I have tried many double sided tapes for this application and the XFasten Carpet Tape is the best I have found by far.

Once I figured out to tear, not cut this tape, I was in love with it. Think double-sided duct tape. VERY sticky and can hold anything together. Perfect for holding carpets and rugs down. I used on the back of rubber stair treads to stick down to laminate wood flooring, but it seems like it could stick to anything. The roll gives you a good amount and is a good width.
