My husband loves his Timbuk2 bags!

My husband has a Timbuk2 messenger bag that I gave him some 12 years ago and he loves it but he's just returned to school and decided he wanted a new one with more pockets so we got him an upgraded. We purchased this one and he is extremely happy, holds all is books and laptop and gadgets for a 12 hour day on campus.

Last bag I'm buying

I use this every day for work and I love this bag. I've gone through a few different work bags and this is by far the sturdiest, functional and most sleek. I often keep tools and spare parts and cables in it, laptop, water bottle and thermos, key fobs, ID, etc. and still have room for more. Fully bulking this thing out doesn't make it look ridiculous either, nor really uncomfortable. It might bend over on you depending on what's going on inside, but that can be remedied by making sure you have something filling out the backside laptop compartment (can be used for clipboards or folders/binders etc.) Bag seems durable and waterproof. My S7 Edge doesn't fully fit in the front easy access zipper and still close all the way but it's not really an issue, I knew my phone was awkwardly sized when I got it. The pocket keeps a lot of other handy items in there though. I've also traveled with the bag and it fits clothes and other items you'll need for short trips. I recommend rolling not folding your clothes to fit the most amount of clothes in here.

The Only Briefcase/Messenger Bag You Need

I love this bag. Had been searching for some time for a replacement for my Nike messenger bag. I Fly somewhere every week and I carry a lot of stuff. Lots of pockets, two soft pockets on outside for soda/water bottles. Soft external sleeve big enough for two tablets, plus room for for my Anker 20A power pack. Inside more than big enough to carry my week's supply of healthy snacks, an Amazon Basics Nintendo Case which I use for carrying all my electronics cables and power supplies, vitamin case and a 1 inch Levenger binder. Interior zippered pocket protects the passport, company badge and other sensitive items. Convenient front pocket to stash my airplane bluetooth headset. To finish it off a very comfortable strap, quickly adjustable. Lots of room and I have jammed even more in when I needed to (thin laptop, sweatshirt, gloves, hat in addition to everything else already in there.) If you need a roomy bag that has a place for everything and helps keep everything in its place, this is the one.

Awesome travel bag for a MacBook

Very well made bag, Medium would have been a perfect size for a 15" laptop. However I have a 13" MacBook and felt it was not quite snug enough, so I am exchanging it for a small and hopefully that will fit better. Plenty of space in the middle for a neck pillow and the outside flap pocket is perfect for easy access to your boarding passes. I really like this bag & I will update once I try out the smaller size as well. UPDATE: The Small fit the 13" MacBook Pro a lot better than the medium, although it says the Small can fit up to a 15" laptop. I kinda wish they made an even smaller size for the 13" laptops. It really isn't that much smaller than the medium. It has all the same pockets and depth to it, just a little more narrow is all. It should fit a little easier under the airline seat though. Overall a very well made bag and I am a happy customer.

Literally Sets and New Standard for Messenger Bags.

My job is primarily travel-based, so a good messenger bag is a must. I switched from a Samsonite Colombian Leather Flapover Case, Brown, One Size to the Timbuk2 for a few reasons. Foremost, the Samsonite is an excellent, functional messenger bag with a great price and exceptionally good looks. The downsides are mostly preferential and the replacement reasons for me were as a result of the rigors of air travel. The leather began to look rough for wear and I intend on keeping it, so my newfound requirements became: non-leather material that wasn't boring black nylon, external water bottle pockets (I'm an instructor, so trying to teach all day with dry mouth sucks. External pockets make like a lot easier), water resistant (I bike commute when not flying around), and easy to remove laptops. This bag blows those requirements out of the water. While by no means as stylish and good looking as the Samsonite, the Timbuk2 is well-made, the light blue offsets the olive drab very well. This is one of those items that you purchase and think, "Damn, a new standard has been set." This bag literally makes my life a bit easier. It seems bizarre to me to wax poetic over a simple tool like this, but the little things this bag has sets it apart and makes it worth the price. The water bottle pockets on the exterior are great. The interior is lined with waterproof material in the light blue color, so I presume it will standup to rain well (haven't tested this aspect yet). That exterior laptop holder is something that once you have, you really come to appreciate. If you travel frequently, I highly recommend this messenger bag.

Muddy dog jumped in my new car and I was more worried about the bag.. needlessly of course as the surface is easily wiped clean. I love this bag - wish I didn't wait so long to buy it. I was comparing different brands, and afraid of ordering online, without being able to touch it etc - but it's awesome. I got the medium, and there's a ton of room for my 13" laptop and all my other cables, personal items. There are separate areas for laptops, paperwork, and miscellaneous stuff - pockets for whatever, and even a little side zipper pocket that I didn't even find for 2 weeks after owning the bag. Would definitely buy it again if I had to decide.

oh wow VERY NICE - not a fan of the whorl - kind of reminds me of Alex Proyas' Dark City

It's not as big as I thought it would be but it fits my laptop as well as the Cooler Master rack I need because I have a cheap laptop with no fan and no removable battery. I am definitely keeping this one and returning a less expensive messenger bag even though this one doesn't have the nice card compartments but does have pen compartments. It does have two net pockets in the main compartment. Other than the whorl - I am happy with this purchase and recommend it. Amazon helped me out when I didn't get it originally. Thank you.

We were really happy when we un-boxed this and saw how nice it ...

This bag was a purchase for my son who is 14 years old and wanted a messenger style bag for school this year. He really loves it, first of all. We were really happy when we un-boxed this and saw how nice it truly was. The stitching is well done, the quality of materials is very nice and the color was perfect for a classic messenger bag that is still stylish. He has received multiple compliments on it from other students at his school who wanted to know where he got his bag. We got it in the medium size which is a little snug for all of his books and notebooks, but he goes to a school where they don't have lockers and he has 12 classes a day so it would probably be just right for the average student. I would feel comfortable using it for my college classes, as it has plenty of room, lots of great pockets for pens/pencils, extra materials, etc. Really love the additional pockets on the side for water bottles, etc. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a very high quality messenger bag I will update this review in a few months to post how it has lasted over the beginning of the school year.

Perfect bag for work travel.

Recieved the Timbuk 2 Commute, small, from my friends at Amazon. Just right for work travel. Ordered a medium command but it was too big for my taste. Returned and ordered the small commute. Fits my 13 inch laptop, ipad and lots of storage compartments are really nice. Well made and quality material. Clasps look like they could be a little bigger and stronger but should be fine.

TSA easy!

Having recently moved to the USA - I found myself travelling nationally quite a bit and wanted something that wouldn't way me down and would be easy at the security check. This bag is great for that reason alone! I have yet to be asked to unpac my laptop - size wise it fits my laptop/ cables, ipad, notebook, paperwork - with enough room for a change of clothes for a second day away. (YES I bought the small one). Not too big were you are tempted to take more... The napolean pocket is great for emptying your pockets/ watch etc at the TSA line.
