• Perfect Fit - This oil filter wrench fits select cartridge style oil filter caps and spin-off style filters that have 14 flutes which measure 74mm in diameter. This includes most Mercedes and Sprinters (not 3.0L Diesel), Porsche, many VW and Audi engines, and some Ford, Mercury, and Mazda 2.3L and 2.5L engines. Also fits many Mobil1, Bosch, Mahle, and other spin on aftermarket filters.
  • Professional Quality - Motivx Tools is a family owned and operated specialty tool company located in the United States and we take great pride in our products. These oil filter wrenches are made to our stringent specifications in Taiwan with a fit and finish you won't find anywhere else, and are backed by a 1 year warranty and excellent customer service.
  • Built To Last – Sometimes oil filter caps can be extremely tight causing tremendous pressure to be put on the wrench. That's why our oil filter wrenches are made from high quality 6061 T5 aluminum so they won't crack like cheaper aluminum or flex and damage the plastic caps like stamped steel versions.
  • Excellent Finish - Our oil filter wrenches are not only built tough, but the surface is treated with a matte chrome finish to prevent corrosion and they’re laser engraved with the Motivx Tools logo.
  • Purchase With Confidence - Buy our Motivx Tools oil filter wrench knowing it's a perfect fit, excellent quality, built to last, and most importantly we stand behind our products.

Sturdy design and hollowed corners ensure you're only applying pressure to the straight parts of the filter cap. I used this on a Cayman S (987.2), and it fit perfectly...just snug enough that I had to really wiggle the socket extension to get it off, as you would want. Along those lines; make sure you clean the filter cap off very well before you attempt to remove it from the car. The depth of the cup of the wrench is just enough to give you confidence that it won't break the plastic filter cap. Highly recommended for the DIYer.

Worked perfectly and quickly for my 996 oil filter cap on my most recent oil change. As other reviewers have said, it seems well built. The walls are thick enough it seems unlikely this filter wrench will bend, and the shape of the corners seems like it will allow a good fit while preventing or reducing chance of rounding off the corners of the oil filter cap. The 996 has plenty of room for the thick walls. I got an email from the company right after the shipment arrived asking for how things are going. I did not contact them, but nice to see proactive service. The price seems competitive, relative to other filter wrenches that seem to be of high quality. I bought this product to proactively avoid risk of draining the oil and then having the filter wrench break, or have the plastic filter cap break, or have it be a poor fit and futz with it for an hour. I've had those problems in the past (other cars).

I was delighted to have discovered this very excellent tool that makes oil changes a breeze for my Mazda3. For the last ten years, I've used a stamped steel oil filter tool that was the only tool I could find for the Mazda 2.3l cartridge oil filter. Understanding that the Mazda's oil filter cap was 74mm's with 14 flutes, I figured I'd give this tool a try and I'm very happy that I did. This tool fits the Mazda's cap like a glove without the slop of the stamped steel tool that resulted in the steel tool cocking sufficiently to get stuck on the cap. This tool provides broad-based contact with the flutes that makes it easier to remove and reinstall without binding. A huge advantage over the stamped steel tool is contact area on the faces of the flutes. Limitations to how deeply you can draw a steel tool limits vertical faces to 12mm's of height compared with over 20mm's with this Motivx tool. Precision fit of this die-cast tool coupled with full engagement on the oil cap flutes provides an optimal solution without compromise. Solid tool and a great buy!

Ok, so I didn't actually use the tool. I ordered the part off misinformation I found on a youtube video and this actually doesn't work on my car. However, I can tell you that it is of high quality; far better than the stamped steel parts you can get for about 70% the cost. There has been thought put into it's design with two ways of attaching a spanner to it, as well as indentations around the outside that will help in finishing the loosening by hand. After contacting the seller regarding returning the part, he asked what I needed and that he could possibly still help me. After some measuring, he sent me a new part and trusted me to wait for a test fit of the new part before returning this wrench. A few days later I receive the new part and it fits perfectly and is of exactly the same quality. All I need to do is get the original tool returned. This took some communication, of which the seller was very responsive each time. This is real customer service.

Fits my GM. Not listed for my GM filter but I measured the filter with a caliper. Works great and fits perfect. Ive found these types of filter wrench/socket do not fit the "grip guard" type of filters offered by some manufacturers. The grip coating is heavy and adds a thickness layer which actually makes the filter larger or inbetween sizes of fixed size filter wrenches. I do not use the grip guard type of filter on any of my vehicles.

I use this filter wrench daily as an Audi and Porsche technician. This wrench I feel is more robust than the Hazet wrenches and the lower profile makes access easier for many spots such as for a 993 911. This is a great tool that I stumbled on by accident, though from this review I hope others can make an informed choice and not be afraid to buy it. Other techs have commented on this wrench at work and have asked where to get one. I can only assume that their other oil wrenches are just as good. Don't hesitate to buy a motivx wrench if you need one.

Works exceptionally well. Wrench is "Notched" at flute ends and "domed" on the inside (making for easier cartridge release). Made from cast-metal (rather than stamped steel). Firmly grasps filter/encasement (does not flex like stamped steel ones). It's more durable/rugged. Noticeably easier to use. This one's a winner! It also fits most every car I work on.. Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, General Motors, to the Pacific rim. It's the most used size on the globe. Use it once and you will be convinced Motivx makes a super product. Makes you want to buy the entire Motivix kit. Try it and you will agree!

I remember the days when you could buy quality tools that weren't made from cheese and pot metal, without having to spend hours trolling through reviews complaining of poor quality workmanship and cheap materials to rule them out. Unfortunately, these days, you need to do your research, since quality tools are getting harder and harder to find. Luckily, this item appears to be very well made. It is light and strong and had no problems with the filter casing on my 2012 VW golf 2.5, which was apparently previously tightened by a gorilla in a fit of rage. Had to gently tap it off the casing with a hammer to get it to release once it was off the car, but can't blame the tool for that. It fits real snug! Sure, you can probably find cheaper options, but I am happy with this... hopefully it'll outlast my car!

I was surprised at how difficult it was to find an oil filter cap wrench for my 2009 Mazda 6 (2.5L) with the cartridge filter. There was a severe lack of information when I tried to find out the size of the cartridge filter housing and how many flutes it had. I found a small amount of information on the internet, but a lot of it was conflicting and gave different sizes. I called 2 separate Mazda dealerships and they were able to give me a part number for the cartridge filter housing assembly itself, but couldn't provide any information on what size cap filter wrench I needed. Apparently there was a mid-year change on the 2009 Mazda 2.5 liter engine. They changed from a cartridge filter to a regular oil filter (or vice versa). Either way it added a lot of confusion when trying to find a cap wrench. I even stumped a few of my local auto parts stores as well. So I ended up buying a few different sizes from my local auto parts stores, even ordered two separate ones off Amazon. Luckily this one fit perfectly! So it took about a week's worth of research and a lot of trial-and-error, but I was finally able to complete my oil change. I never would have thought finding the right size cap wrench would be so difficult! So if you have a 2009 Mazda 6 with the 2.5 liter engine and a cartridge type filter, this wrench will do the trick! It was more expensive than most of the $5.99 wrenches at my local auto parts store, but this one is much better quality than those cheaper versions. I would definitely highly recommend this one even though it was more expensive.

I had been changing the oil on my Mazda 5 (2012), struggling to remove the oil filter given the awkward angle at which I needed to remove it without having to remove the entire mud guard. The last time I did it about a month ago, I struggled so much that I decided it was time to find a tool to make my job more easier. Unfortunately, Amazon did not show any of these wrenches to be compatible with the car's oil filter. Reading through the reviews of this product, I came across several ones mentioning that it fit their Mazda oil filters (not the 5 model specifically). Despite amazon's showing this product as being incompatible with my Mazda 5 (2012)'s oil filters, I can confirm that it is not true - this is compatible with the oil filter and provides an excellent fit using a 3/8" drive. You will need an extension if you want to avoid removing Mazda 5's mud guard.
