Excellent product that does exactly what you want with minimal installation. Quality built materials with clear instructions. Lost a part during install and their customer service were courteous and expedient in resolving the issue and sending me the misplaced part. I would highly recommend and will use again!

This spring-loaded latch mechanism is awesome. I have struggled with getting my gate to latch automatically. The length of the shaft that feeds through the post is long enough to go through a 4x4 beam and it's easy enough to trim to just the right size. It's about time someone came up with a simple product that works really well. Absolutely recommend this product.

I purchased two of these and liked them so much that I ordered a third. This was while moving in to a new home and somehow we lost one of the components to assemble the rack. I didn't discover this until 3 months later (July --> Sept) and emailed Seville Classics without much hope. They responded promptly on Monday morning and express shipped me the replacement parts. Amazing!

Easy to install and use. Girl was complaining she couldn't open the fence, not an issue with this installed! Took about 10 minutes with basic tools. Not sure why other reviews complain of inability to crimp the wire, I used some channel locks with ease.

My latches were always getting misaligned, leading to gates getting left open. This latch pull solved the problem. What a brilliant design. One small piece of advice: I added electrical tape to the end to increase the dimension of the nib that sits in the latch.

This is a great solution. The only flaw however is that the screw they include to install the adapter on to the loophole of the latch is not Long enough if you have a heavier duty latch. The adapter is also not universal in that it does not fit over a heavier duty latch. As you can see in the pictures I had to install the adapter backwards and modify and add spacers with separate screw and lock washer/nuts. I was a little concerned about movement of that adapter as once it starts to move, the screws start to loosen. However, the pull cable does not pull far enough back to actually yank on the adapter too hard. If you do not have an adjustable latch and it happens to get tight when it rains or what not, there is a chance that I will have to tug harder and may start to loosen. But I am using an auto adjust latch so hopefully that will not be an issue.

I bought this product two years ago and it has worked well, and as advertised. Recently though the cable snapped. I contacted the manufacturer, and he immediately sent out the replacement parts, without charging me a dime, not even for shipping. Replacing the cable was a snap, and I'm the opposite of a handyman. Very satisfied.

My gate is too tall to reach over, so this turned out to be an excellent solution. I was concerned whether it would be long enough to go through my 4x4 post plus the 1-by fencing material. Turns out the tube that passes through the post was long enough with about 1/4" to spare (see photo). I used a Dremel cut-off wheel to cut off the excess "base." (It's easier if you remove both screw-on ends and cut the "base" without the wire inside.) I agree with other reviewers, however, that a 5/8" hole seems a bit excessive, and I wonder if it won't degrade the integrity of the post. But for now everything seems OK. I am using a heavy-duty latch, so I had to reconfigure the attachment of the lift lever, by putting it on the right side of the latch (it's designed to fit on the left side) and using a longer screw/bolt. My husband asked how people will know to pull the lever to come in the gate, so I'm thinking of putting a little sticker on the knob -- but it might be nice if "pull" was printed or embossed in the factory.

Extremely well-made. Easy to install, excellent instructions. Took me three minutes to install the entire unit. Be careful cutting the exterior jacket. It is much more rigid than it looks in the pictures. A hacksaw will do the trick. Unit must be stabilized to cut safely.

I have installed 3 of these guys so far, and everything has gone swimmingly -- no complaints. They work well. I have read others' complaints, so I am waiting to see if any problems develop. I have to agree with the folks who wondered at the 5/8" hole size. I have 5/8" bits, but I am left wondering why the tube was designed at such a large diameter. This would have worked just as well had the tube been designed at, say, 3/8". For the record, the side posts through which I installed all 3 units were 2x6's (actual 5½"). The tube is just long enough to work at that dimension.
