heavy, strong
Here is how I check the quality without seeing it first: I look at the shipping weight and compare that to others. Because I prefer a clear curtain for my shower I have had years of buying them. They are not all equal. This is the 2nd one of these I've gotten. The first one is 3 years old, still fine. This is for my other bath as a liner. It came with very cheap, plain white rings which are OK and I can donate them. This curtain is thick and heavy so it will not blow around by the force of shower water. The holes are strong enough to not rip when you open/close.

Worth it
It's probably one of the best bang for your buck shower liners you'll be able to find online. I needed something cheap with good quality which is hard to find. Usually, you can have one but you can't have both. Thankfully with AmazonBasics, Amazon tries to set a high standard of quality with their brand and what they did here was a success. Keep in mind, it isn't the greatest shower ever created but it's good enough. Very clean and the slight odor that came with it was gone within a day. No bacteria growth but I will report back if there is. I've used it three times already. The material is very strong. While taking a shower, it'll stick to the tub so you don't need magnets. It'll also cover all of the average shower and then some so you won't have a wet bathroom floor when you step out. I bought the see through liner without a curtain. The opacity is around 90%. You can see very clearly through it so there's no privacy if you share a bathroom (I did this on purpose because that's the latest style and I have a private bathroom) but you can't make out all the details (for instance font on bathroom product). The liner came with hooks which were the cheap plastic but were very easy and convenient to remove. I used my own stainless steel hooks. No problem with balance or alignment. The liner touches almost the floor of my tub and that's the way I like it. My only complaint is that the vertical edge of the curtain wasn't perfectly cut. It's slightly crooked but very hard to notice. Since I'm a guy and don't have major OCD, it wasn't a problem for me. I'd recommend this product.

I love it so much not I decided not to use ...
This is the first time I found a liner that is truly heavy duty, a very very thick material, so there is no concern for it not having magnets on the bottom as this REALLY stays in place...There is also no folded seam on the bottom or sides to "potentially" become mildewy...all edges are simply straight cut edges. I love it so much not I decided not to use the outside curtain with it, as we are enjoying the light this lets into the the shower area making it feel roomier. However be warned for those of you who are sensitive, that this does give off an odor ***I'm super sensitive to chemical smells - but hubby didn't notice any smell, go figure. Since I didn't have anywhere that I could place it to "off-gas" for a few days, after hanging it up that night, I used a small fan blowing towards the open window. (thankfully it is summertime) ...the next morning the smell was not as bad, but I then remembered one of those helpful hints and placed a cotton ball treated with citronella essential oil on a nearby shelf, to help clarify the air, and that REALLY did the trick. Next morning I was able to turn off the fan... Also upon opening the package, there was a fine white powdery substance on the outside of the curtain which did wipe off easily with a damp rag (I thought maybe it was applied to make sure you can easily unfold the curtain ? just a guess, who knows...) Now after having this up for over a month the water spots were starting to bother me so I liberally sprayed it with that scrubbing bubbles spray foam, let it do it's thing, it just dripped down and I didn't even have to rinse it...and now I'm really in love LOL no more water spots (and we have hard water) In all fairness I did not deduct a star for the odor since it is stated as being PVC and it was my error in not catching it -> after going back and forth reading reviews for all contenders, in the end and haste to "pull the trigger" I overlooked it...BUT I am glad I did because (1) the enjoyment - yes, enjoyment over a shower curtain/liner :-) is well worth the short off-gas and (2) had I remembered the hint about using essential oils to clarify the air sooner, it really would not have any issue whatsoever...

Exactly as heavy duty as I hoped
I have never been so ridiculously happy with something so simple. I spent more than a year with a flimsy, thin, light shower curtain that blew in on me when I showered and stuck to me. It was such a pain. I bought this curtain as a replacement and it's been perfect. Not only is it heavy enough that it does NOT move when I'm showering, but the thickness of it holds the heat in so much better and makes for a much more comfortable shower.

My dog cant scare me anymore!
Smells really bad for an hour but I could care less. Turned on the fan and lit a candle. Its plastic, plastic always smells weird imo. It's not PERFECTLY clear but I desperately needed something I could see through since my dog likes to scare me by coming in and sitting quietly till I open the curtain and jumping at me (seriously. She gets a kick out of it). I'll see how long it takes to mold and see how well it works with bleach. The clips(?) are easy to use and I used those instead of the ones I have since it's easier to push them on.

Great shower curtain liner. Exactly as advertised.
Very nice, pretty clear shower curtain liner. It comes with cheap plastic shower curtain rings which I am guessing most people will not use. it was strong smelling from off-gassing for several days after unwrapping it and hang it up. But it seems to me that is quite often the case with a new shower curtain liner. This is a liner designed to be used in tandem with an actual shower curtain. It does not need magnets like a lighter curtain does to hold itself to the tub because it's heavy enough that it will not move when you take a shower.

For the price, this stuff is great!
I bought 2. I'm using these as transparent wind and rain breakers in an outdoor project - not as shower curtains. ;-) Before ordering them, I had been looking at transparent tarps - which turn out to be quite expensive! I thought I might as well try out these curtains instead, which were 1/3 the price or less and the same size as the tarps I was considering. Turns out they are perfect for the job! The material is nice and thick and heavy, and so transparent that you can comfortably see through them. Perfect low cost alternative to the transparent tarps. So there's a hint for you, in case you have a project like that - they aren't just shower curtains! ;-)

Thick, long lasting & quality especially for the price!
Excellent thick clear liner! I gave up on thorough cleaning of cheap liners (I still spray & wipe them down occasionally) and just started replacing them as needed. This has really lasted an incredibly long time (~10m+) and probably would have lasted longer if I had more patience with cleaning it (just slight soap/mold spots around the bottom and creases as we live in the south with high humidity, no rips or tears). Highly recommended.

Great, thick shower curtain. Buy it!
I often wonder if different people get different products. This is a great shower curtain. The grommets line up perfectly. The weight is enough to hold the curtain in place at the bottom without magnets yet it does not fold in on itself. And, best of all, without magnets on the bottom there are no seams on the bottom of the curtain to create mildew; the water just rolls off, unimpeded. When I have gotten mildew on previous shower curtains it was always at the bottom seam. There was no powder with or on the curtain I received. The odor is the same as a new car smell and it is already dissipating. I took the photos right after using the shower so the curtain is wet in the photo but if I did not take a photo right then I would have forgotten. You can see in the photo of the bottom corner of the curtain there are no seams.

Looking for a shower curtain that won't blow around?
We had a hookless shower curtain and the liner was so light and flimsy it was always interfering with our showers. (We're not much for baths, except for the dogs) This is nicely thick and heavy and stays down while showering. There is off-gassing when you get it and takes a while for it to disappear (or at least not become noticeable) Couldn't be happier, though I wish they made it like 2" longer on it's height.
